  1. I'm second-ing another's opinion in this thread. I'm not intersted in repeating things that have already been said. But if you want something, here I've seen enough of this game to know when I see a tired squad. Does a bad shooting night always equate to being tired? No, but they're related. It makes sense, IMO, to believe this after what transpired @ ECU. To see this small rotation get maxed out...night after night. I don't like the "tired" talk though. You can't be constructive about it, except for saying "get some rest." Let's talk about our shallow rotation. Our awful offensive efficiency. And, when Edwards is off, how painful we are to watch. Stating another obvious: Stone isn't contributing. A difficult truth is, since the Grant era, not only are we not recruiting to help with depth, we haven't successfully gotten anyone that is enough to offset Stone's minutes. Apparently, who ever we have past him is not good enough defensively (or even offensively?) to earn the edge over him. Want to call someone out? Call out Grant and Hodge for that.
  2. It was a bad take. Check your vision.
  3. "I just call it like I see it" said everyone who was always right, ever. Got it.
  4. No post-game Hodge? What's the deal, is that only after home games?
  5. How long has Moulaye been playing the game? A lot of the times he seems to play slow, like he doesn't have a lot of experience/vision re: his position and how it's played.
  6. This doesn't dispute his point.
  7. It should die. But it won't, because....Denton.
  8. If you really want to dig into the BS that is all this terminology, think about the "Power" designation and how it was specifically assigned to 5 conferences, and then watch as the media chooses whatever is convenient when talking about the Indies. I remember watching a broadcast years ago, flipping back and forth between games involving Army and ND, and the Army team was being referred to as G5, while ND was P5. Even if spoken in error, maybe even because of an error, I got WAY too worked up over how this stuff is just BS and gets twisted around.
  9. I mentioned this elsewhere, but I think this case has really put into question the definition of the foul. If the foul is based on interference of the defender, then Allen didn't commit a foul. We all agree the defender was not affected. But it's called a push-off which, IMO, doesn't necessarily mean the defender is affected.. I can push off another's body and, with firm footing, they can be perfectly still/unaffected. I've watched this replay way too many times, and I cannot see it your way. I've tried lol This is the last comment I'll make on it, because I think everyone has made up their mind. I suspect If the ECU defender had flopped, he might get the call. Or might not. They were letting the teams play through a lot of would-be fouls those last couple minutes.
  10. None of this video captures Allen while he was touching the defender. Not possible to use it as evidence either way.
  11. The "mid-major" nomenclature existed LONG before the power conference stuff that came about in the BCS era. The BCS terms just ended up solidifying a perception that is now in line with how people designate high vs. mid major.
  12. It's really close. Defender could have flopped and probably gotten the call. Screen Recording 2024-01-20 at 1.56.55 AM.mov
  13. Yeah, this feels different. Maybe, just maybe, a bump in perception due to our success under Grant/Hodge, and/or the new conference. w/e it is, I'll take it.
  14. I played this card too until I saw all the videos available on ESPN.com. Check out this one. 1) There is a clear push-off. Not a "push the defender." It's Allen pushing off. 2) It is just as clear that the defender wasn't affected. ...honestly, if he had flopped, they probably would have gotten the call. But he didn't. He didn't even look like he was trying to defend until it was too late. His arms were down and the ball was over his head and caught before he even turned around. So, again, it's a foul, but not a terrible no-call. Refs were clearly letting them play, as evidenced by the "non-travel" on the previous ECU go-ahead, as well as the no-call on Edwards earlier. People, you watch enough of this that you can get tired head wanting a perfect game called. It's a myth. No such thing as a perfect game. Refs will sometimes let players play, and sometimes you get the raw end of the deal, sometimes the right end of the deal.
  15. Not once in basketball history, to my knowledge at any level of play, has a league office rescinded a victory due to officiating. Where in the world did you get that idea? Sincere question. That's what you got criticism for. Not for "ECU filing a grievance."
  16. When you wake up from that champagne haze, and I hate to tell you this, but the NCAA took away your national title win. You cannot claim it anymore. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
  17. How do the teams compare when looking strictly at the two deep? I think that's more relevant than a grand total.
  18. Woah. You most certainly did not. My brain went on vacation without telling me lol
  19. I don't know if lethal is the right word. I think we will be more rounded, for sure. It's fun to think about this, though. I think we will learn and appreciate (as if we didn't already lol) even more what they bring to the table when they return.
  20. What a memory. I watched that Memphis game while visiting a friend in Jersey. We went to a local mall pub and found the game. I had little idea how HARD it is to sustain that level of success. Loved that team so much, tho.
  21. Gebbia is not longer at UNT. @Jdawg48
  22. 3-man front demands size at the NT. DE you want speed speed speed.
  23. I get that, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Surely, they cannot have another game like that against us? I felt like a ton of shots fell their way, and they were getting a lot of calls in their favor (except for the game winner). On the other side of this, we shot horribly. Lastly, will we have Rubin/Buggs back? No gimmies, but I feel good about round 2.
