  1. And how many times the last 7 years have 38K people attended a MBB game? I think the postseason MBB success is just barely starting to move the national needle, but one decent football season brought more people to watch one football game at the cotton bowl than how many MBB games combined? You're not even the slightest bit curious what might happen for football if we string together 3-5 years of ships and bowl wins?
  2. SL was famous for shitting the bed in important games. I will always wonder what our base would look like if we didn't stab them in the heart every chance we get, over the course of 5 years. You will never convince me that it isn't worth trying. Doesn't have to be national. Build from the region/conference first.
  3. 38K people were in attendance for that game.
  4. My guess: a lot of that disdain was early, when he had a small handful of games that were less than 10 points. When he isn't producing consistently, and we didn't need him when Jones/Bugs were out, it was a lot easier to see the faults.
  5. For those of us that were not around Denton yet, can you tell us about them?
  6. Down votes can be very random/irrational. One should never read into them.
  7. Edwards makes me happy and drives me mad. Both of them very often in the same game.
  8. Chris Jones, Jordan Williams. And, a Mean Green alumn who is/was under appreciated: Roger Franklin
  9. If it gets the students amped, embrace it! Unlike SMU, we are trying to build a fanbase.
  10. Yes, only 10 teams in softball. Not sure about the vote.
  11. Why are y'all engaging with this awful troll? Even under the umbrella of "friendly sports banter" this is bad entertainment.
  12. How was he not a good college player? He broke records in blocks (they made a montage video, highlighting every block in the tournament). He should have been conference DPOTY. He probably would have gotten all-conference honors as a sophomore if the team wasn't such a catastrophe. Benford was SO bad, even Mitchell's abilities couldn't offset that black hole of awful basketball that he (Benford) brought to the table.
  13. Lock them in Super Pit cages until after the game ("Lock The Gate", amiright?) Shut down the rest of Denton Put something in their drinks nickle beers, only available at said price after halftime
  14. Someone trying to bring football titles into the bball world?
  15. More than just body count. I guess I wasn't clear. The lack of offense when Edwards is off. The inability to find anyone to take Stone's minutes. And, I know we all love Rubin, but we could potentially be even better (and find an offensive identity) if we had a true PG.
  16. I almost never give an A+. Implies there is no room for improvement. I'd give Hodge an A-. We have roster/depth issues, and that Fordham loss sucks. I still think the world of him and our potential.
  17. There’s some really thick sports banter right now, but Memphis fans are a different breed. They genuinely believe they are above and beyond this conference. Some similarity with SMU. Their Twitter banter swings wildly back and forth between talk-ety high horse, and creepy quiet.
  18. My impression is X is a massive tool for connecting players with coaches, and a player would be missing out on potential opportunities (offertunities?) if they didn't use it.
  19. I'm second-ing another's opinion in this thread. I'm not intersted in repeating things that have already been said. But if you want something, here I've seen enough of this game to know when I see a tired squad. Does a bad shooting night always equate to being tired? No, but they're related. It makes sense, IMO, to believe this after what transpired @ ECU. To see this small rotation get maxed out...night after night. I don't like the "tired" talk though. You can't be constructive about it, except for saying "get some rest." Let's talk about our shallow rotation. Our awful offensive efficiency. And, when Edwards is off, how painful we are to watch. Stating another obvious: Stone isn't contributing. A difficult truth is, since the Grant era, not only are we not recruiting to help with depth, we haven't successfully gotten anyone that is enough to offset Stone's minutes. Apparently, who ever we have past him is not good enough defensively (or even offensively?) to earn the edge over him. Want to call someone out? Call out Grant and Hodge for that.
  20. It was a bad take. Check your vision.
  21. "I just call it like I see it" said everyone who was always right, ever. Got it.
  22. No post-game Hodge? What's the deal, is that only after home games?
  23. How long has Moulaye been playing the game? A lot of the times he seems to play slow, like he doesn't have a lot of experience/vision re: his position and how it's played.
