  1. DD probably does not like Wilson b/c he is does not stand in the pocket all day long taking hits like Phillips and Meager. He improvises so of course DD and RF won't like him. They are much to simplified in their approach to understand a scrambling QB.
  2. Taken from Athletic Website Bio: Jeff Maren joins the North Texas Tennis program with an impressive resume that includes a successful playing career and over 20 years of coaching experience. Maren, named the 2005 Tennis Professional of the Year by the USTA of Southern Kentucky, has developed a knack for pioneering programs from the ground up. He not only started the women’s tennis program at his alma mater, Thomas More College, from 1989-91, but also built the Brescia University team from scratch from 1992-95. “Jeff is a person of great integrity, who will bring an unmatched work ethic to North Texas Tennis,” said North Texas head coach Sujay Lama. “He has tremendous passion, enthusiasm and knowledge for the game. Together we will get this program back on track and take it to new heights.” As the head pro at the Country Club of Paducah from 1998 to 2000, Maren continued teaching the sport to all levels. He went on to serve as the Director of Tennis at Paducah until 2005. Maren began his impressive playing career in style, earning All-America honors in 1985 while attending Owensboro Catholic High School in Kentucky. He went on to star for four seasons at Thomas More, where he qualified for the NAIA National Championships each year and earned a national ranking as a senior. “I am very excited to be a part of the North Texas program and to be able to work with such an established coach as coach Lama,” Maren said. “I think, together, we can inject an extra dose of passion that can kick start this program in the right direction.” As an amateur, Maren was consistently ranked in the national top 25 polls as lately as 2002. He reached his peak in 1992, when he was ranked as the top amateur in the state of Kentucky. Maren received his bachelor’s degree from Thomas More in 1989.
  3. umm hello Truman Spencer averaged 40yds a kick i believe so that is pretty good, if the net is lower blame it on numerous arm tacklers.
  4. Go back to your closet and cheer for some more mediocrity b/c that is what you're accpeting and anyone who questions a 49 pt loss is just b***hing. It happens once ok fine just a game but this happens 2x a year for the past 8 years basically. It gets old, but hey we are all winners!!
  5. I was a huge supporter of Phillips being the starter but yesterday he got manhandled and Wilson looked good coming and leading the team to a score, but alas don't hold your breath expecting to DD to pick not pick a semi-healthy Meager over a game-tested Wilson.
  6. Guys remember now this a no B***hing zone no matter how bad the team plays. i mean come on we only got beat by 49 points and did not even amass 100 yds of offense. That is awesome in my books. I hope your happy with the production of the team today SeanMG, just the type of fan I want for my team, someone who embraces mediocrity. Instead wanting to be like MT State who beat Colorado or Idaho and La. Tech who actually gave their teams a fight on the road.
  7. same ole team different year. You can preach discipline all you want as a fan of the team but the coaches obviously are not pressing the issue. Dumb penalties and still to many rediculous timeouts to prevent delay of game.
  8. new year same ole team. 20 plays and 6 Total Yards Defense still playing soft zone that any opponent can pick apart. Every heard of wrapping up the runner instead of arm tackling. No throws to Quinn at all if he is even playing hard to tell. No pressure on the QB what so ever by UNT No O-Line blocking whatsoever for UNT Will be a long year, UT obviously is very good but so far we look very mediocre, but wilson should be the QB of choice he can at least move.
  9. thought they had just finished his paperwork last week so he had not been practicing, good ole NCAA taking their sweet time.
  10. hmm I'll take your slap back at you. I had better education at SHSU then some of the crap the profs at UNT were throwing out. As for NFL stock it will help him alot better than the handoff practice for 12 games a year at UNT.
  11. You mean he was not seeing stars in the 11 games he started last year? He was deer in the headlights all last year and it looks like nothing has changed, including DD annointing him starting QB come hell or high water.
  12. Meager suffering from Nausea and Headaches?? Did he have a concussion? Also with this can we afford to RS Tune if Meager is a ???
  13. Apparently Loren is still up i the air on eligibility, even though DD says he has met requirements. Why are we having to wait until 1 week prior to first game find out about eligibility crap.
  14. b/c we are UNT by golly!!!
  15. Watch out you might get flamed for a comment like that.
  16. 2004 Civic. 38 mpg Thanks goodness for great gas mileage considering I have been driving 700 miles roundtrip every weekend for the last 6 weeks.
  17. DMN says Graves will miss first 3 games of season. Maybe DD needs to start reigning in on the full contact. Either the practices are not controlled enough or we have a bunch of soft players coming back from summer who are prone to injury.
  18. geez another great recruiting job by JJ.
  19. for most the optimistic talk will probably come to an end around 3:00 PM pm September 2, then maybe the rest after September 9th (let's hope not but OOC track record speaks for itself.).
  20. 14 mo. old girl. Good thing is she is tall for her age and can bully the boys
  21. Guess that comment explains why it seems like half the starters are injured right now (JMo, Quinn, Rose, Ransom, 3 QB's, etc...)
  22. Are we just a soft team or what? We seem to have way to many injuries to starters before the season even kicks off.
  23. you must mean Tim Patton, Jonathan Ieans being on the roster still.
