  1. and losing this OOC game wil kill the last of the momentum picked up from the SMUT win. BTW the Akron loss is looking worse and worse as the weeks wind on.
  2. Small change to your quote on La Tech: LaTech in the Bottom 10........this should be an OOC win for UNT!
  3. of course it would help if certain teams would beat teams like Akron, La, Tech, capitalize off of a stopping of Baylor, beat Tulsa, etc...
  4. Ok I followed the game online and some in the chat room. Call me a bandwagoner but, I could give a rats a$$. I support the players and I am embarassed for them because the coaches make them look like crap. The win was great for the players b/c they had to overcome the coaching flaws of their HC and OC. I give the credit to the players and the players only. The DD/RF show needs to come to an end. I hope RV is paying attention. 7 OTs and all we scored was 25 pts is horrendous. Look at the other 2 7OT games and the total number of points by both teams was less than the losing teams in the other games. Great win but it proved nothing other than our players wanted to win despite the coaches. Hopefully this week off will open up some eyes. If we win anymore games this year it will be b/c the players beat two teams (their opponents and their coaches). As for attendance I hope for a large number but a blow-out to the hands of a weak La. Tech team will squash the last game. Oh yeah Akron and MTSU look awesome now.
  5. "Earlier in the week before the TU game DD did a great interview on our local sports radio show 1430 the buzz in Tulsa. He said how tough it is running a program with such a limited budget which is true. But NT's budget is just as big as TU's and NT has facilities that blow TU away now. And I can I assure you they are not supported with donations or local support from Tulsa any better than NT and Denton/Dallas area." Why the hell does RV and the BOR continue to let DD spew this crap to anyone who will listen? Sick and tired of the same old stuff b/c DD and RF refuse to adapt their limited coaching abilities. And this was done on an opponent's radio station, no wonder we have a defeatist attitude when the HC goes out and whines before every game.
  6. I need to use my money to put food on the table and paying off our move to Pig Country or else I would be donating, hopefully that is good enough. I think many will be surprised on the new wallets that open up if a new exciting hire is made.
  7. "We are not hitting the panic button yet," Flanigan said. "Once we start executing, the points will come, the turnovers will decrease and we will win football games, which is our biggest concern." You think Ramon!!!! Wow I mean we are 5 games in and you do not have your kids executing yet. This falls on the coaches, yet they blame the players and take none on themselves, pretty arrogant on their part. RF's offense has not been executing for basically the last 20 games. If RF or DD are not gone by the end of the year I will be sorely disappointed in RV.
  8. I caught a few minutes of the 2Q, I nearly fainted when they said USM was already making adjustments. That is unheard of here, in fact it is blasphemy
  9. hey maybe we can have a repeat of last year and grab 7 TOs but only score 14 points then count on our pourous defense to hold them at the end of the game. Nah, that is pipe dream. I think FIU hits early and as the norm the coaches will turtle. FIU 35 UNT10 I hope I am wrong but the last 3 games give little hope.
  10. That was the new coach, that was a nice late catch. Tough to recruit players when you get hired in late June.
  11. I make one comment b/c iot was a bad tourney, but I also said they need some help. Glad your so connected but where did I say SG did not like TJC, I would love to play for Coach Peterson, but your being overly optimistic if you think this team can be overly successful with the current players. That is harsh reality of the current state, if Lama can bring in 2 top players in January then they have a great deal of potential. MS should not have to play Line 1. Potential is there obviously and I think the new coaches will be fine but year 1 will be long rebuilding. I am excited for the future but right now this team will be in the lower quarter of the Sun Belt. UALR is strong as well as USA, FIU, Troy, MTSU. Right now UNT is closer to WKU and ULM.
  12. I would take Carthal or Biggs (UC-Davis). Hell I would take the SJSU coach, he has done well considering the joke that they were. Carthal though seems firmly rooted in the Panhandle, do not see him leaving for the big-little city.
  13. With our soft defense I would imagine WTAMU could hurt us pretty bad
  14. Well I guess only Mother Teresa or the Pope then should be coaching at UNT according to your standards.
  15. Come I am sure that is exactly how Idaho felt when they landed Dennis Erickson, NMSU with Hal Mumme, UTEP with Mike Price, or Ohio with Frank Solich. No wonder we're where we are at, with this level of thinking and expectation. I sure hope you were being sarcastic.
  16. Giles is a solid #6 but she was picked up when the Hungarian Girl did not make the scores needed and K. Harris transferred out. Now she is injured unfortnately. She is a good #6 but having to play out of position does not help. Glad to hear she changed her mind but at semeter she was not happy. Last year hopefully can just be a distant memory.
  17. Yes the #2 did have grade issues, but I also know for fact from several coaches that she was unhappy after just one semester. Yes that is also JUCO tennis but you also can not afford to cut your pipeline talent and TJC is one the best in the country for talent.
  18. I can give the simple answer: You win your OOC games, if it is a Top 15 opponent you beat them or play them extremely close. Then you dominate the conference and win 50% at least of your bowl games to get noticed, after 1-2 year of this you will not be ignored. Bingo Top 25 ranking no matter what conference you are in.
  19. Was not to thrilled with how long it took to make the hire but I am excited about the hire. I think Lama knew it was time to leave IL, but he also played a much tougher schedule, but he was able to beat several Top Teams (Top 25), Dawna never beat a Top 75 team. This year will be tough but if he can bring in 2 Top players then they have a chance to make it to .500 then work from there.
  20. I think everyone should show and then as a form of protest walk out after the first ball is put in play. We need butts in seats for NCAA regs.
  21. I think everyone needs to con't their support and show up ton the games if possible. UNT Athletics does not need the nuts in Academia tooting their horns that athletics is a waste of dollars that coulds be spent on their research of the killing iof the albino squirrel. Just show even if it is for 5 minutes to get your butt counted. The team and Athletics needs the support.
  22. no not the Hungarian girl, she should have been in back in January but TOEFL scores were not high enough, my guess at least with a foreign player, so then Dawna picked up Sara Giles from TJC as a stop gap with K. Harris transferring. The TJC pipeline will be tough to mend b/c you don't take another teams player mid-season. The one recruit was only Champ level player in Texas, most D1 schools will recruit no less than Super-Champ level (i.e Dan Traxler had several TX players ranked Top 15 in the state during his tenure). Not sure why the Hungarian girl is not here this Fall. AK leaving may have something there, she sounds like she might have been #1 right now. Love tennis so I'll cross my fingers b/c the Sun Belt teams are strong this year. UALR got 2 very good freshmen in, MTSU landed a top transfer from Purdue, USA is always good along with FIU, Denver, and Troy.
  23. yeah losing your one and 2 players to something other than graduation is not good, not being mean but the one signee before the coach came in is a #7-8 player at best without a ton of practice. Lama though does have a great track record and I think he will have the program turned around in the near future, provided he is not handicapped on where he can recruit.
  24. Looks like a bad, bad tournament for the tennis team, not sure why they would forfiet their last matches of the tournament. Texas Tech Tournament Looks like overall they went 7-19. This could be a long season for the tennis ladies unless the coaches can bring in some higher talent at the semester break and get all 6 girls healthy.
  25. there will be good attendance for the first half of the game, but mainly b/c they want to see who is homecoming court, then the stands will empty. It will not be pretty when La. Tech and others come waltzing in. Also what the hell is with the front page of the website showing a picture of players at UT Game, could they not put up a picture from tonight, like they have in the football section. Guess, I am just tired of the consistent bush league crap UNT puts out, at least the Women's Soccer team looks very good, at least one coach knows how to coach Futbol!!
