  1. Who cares he is nothing but trouble judging by his 2 years at UT, some 1-AA school will love to take a chance on him.
  2. Lama left Illinois b/c he wanted to head South, having friends in coaching profession, the jobs are somewhat scarece in this region for the most part, this summer saw UTA (promoted Asst), SHSU (hired Mo. St Coach), NW State (temp hire currently), and UNT were open. Sounds like UNT at least finally opened up the wallet somewhat and the new tennis center is awesome for recruiting and luring in new candidates that previously would not have even sniffed at UNT. UNT now has one of the better facilties in the region if not state behind TCU, UT, and A&M. SMU has grandstand but limited viewing.
  3. Hopefully we hear about any new recruits pretty soon, I know of one apparently signed before Dawna left but no others and it is late in the game. As for the foreign players with the exception of BB and JB, UNT has never really recruited foreign players from the get go, most have been tranfers (SK, CA, IS).
  4. I did notice when I went to get my copy I grabbed the last one on the main shelf but they had a couple more on the end caps. Nice of them to give you a rain check.
  5. they missed the signing of Steve Woodard at Kicker also.
  6. it is for PS2 and X=Box for sure I just picked it up at Fry's on NW Hwy.
  7. Hell no to Franchione, As soon as he got onto campus here he would be hiking his skirt for the next suitor, look what he did to Bama.
  8. I love the assumption that none of our younger guys will step-up and contribute better than some of the seniors who left. also the QB's should better than last year. Think we will be closer to .500, maybe more with certain coaching changes.
  9. geez and they wonder why we can not stand them with their noses stuck up in the air, BTW the NTSU cracks are getting old but whatever works for them.
  10. Syracuse Orangemen, first favorite team til I hit UNT. Sam Houston State Next will need to be Central Arkansas since we will be there in 2 days.
  11. I would imagine Collins, Raymond, and Gilmore are all in the same boat of wait and see if they show up for 2 a days
  12. Buy: Our defense with a ton of young talent will be better this year with Thomas back, if Raymond and Gilmore make it back then we will be solid, not 2001/02 yet but getting there. Buy/Sell: Jamario will play every game this coming season
  13. Haha my wife is way into scrapbooking also. She just back from San Jose last week at a scrapbooking school/convention (CKU). The books do look nice though once finished
  14. I'll buy that with SMU and La Tech at home we should be able to break 20K twice if not more this year, if not then we really need to think about where we stand. Buy/Sell: The QB's this year will toss for 2500 yds and 10 TD's
  15. Not taking potshots, this kid looks to be the real deal. I don't understand your last sentence? Are you presuming if he was qualified early that he would not have signed here (even though he would be the immediate starter) or the coaches would not have attempted to recruit him?
  16. Sell: I think Quinn will get drafted, so 1 but not 2. Buy/Sell: UNT will win 2 OOC games this year.
  17. considering most everyone on this board was touting Raymond and Byerly as starters for their next season, subsequently their loss appears to be huge, the comparision is accurate sense many are already calling this kid our savior at kicker. Yeah glad Buckles and many others came in and took care of business, now lets hope this kid does the same thing. Call it anti-DD if you want.
  18. ok yeah we got a Top 10 recruit who just qualified academically. So we might have a great talent who could easily end up being a Joey Byerly or TJ Raymond, come in for 1 year and then be MIA for 3 years due to grades, yet we had plenty of Kickers in our backyard including one who signed with I believe Arky State (then again we all know who should be recruiting DFW but does not). Makes perfect sense, Rock on DD.
  19. Very sad news Randy Walker died last night of a heart attack at 52, he did a good job of turning Northwestern around.
  20. why the hell can't these kids get their grades? Maybe it is b/c they have to work 30 hrs a week to make rent... wait no that is not, or maybe they have worry about finding food for the rest of the week..... wait no that can be it either. I guess the hours and hours of weight lifting and training must take away from their study time
  21. good publicity for the school, lets hope Tina has her team ready to play early a good fight against Baylor would bold well for the season.
  22. well when JJ learns to coach them to the level of Thomas then you can make that comment, until then JJ has not shown much to be praising.
  23. and look where we are 28 years later and 4 Sun Belt Titles in our Trophy Case. We are last in the state. Our school admins have done a bang up job bringing UNT back to the forefront.
