  1. Per Merton Hanks, who I saw as a guest speaker once, he said that to be drafted at all, you have to be in the top 12-20 at your position. These guys might get a crack at the next level but I wouldn't get my hopes too high. Not that I don't love them as players and as people in general, but there is just too much talent at that level.
  2. And this is football related how? Please move this topic and lets talk some ball.
  3. Nice to actually see a majority of recruits from the Dallas-Ft. Worth region!
  4. I believe I was chastised for using the name Daniels, like the whiskey, when refering to Chase......................
  5. Not sure about you guys, but this commercial gets me hyped up. Its been playing quite a bit during the tourney. Every time I see it, it makes me believe one day we can achieve the unthinkable. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ky7Whwl6DnE
  6. I think by pure statistical data, UNT has to have the best shot. We have the most room for improvement. Troy has almost touched the ceiling, and I don't really see any of the other schools making big jumps. FIU doesn't seem to be moving in the right direction or ULL for that matter. Not to be biased here but it has to be UNT.

  8. Combination of a serious injury and then the pre Super Bowl incident equals this. I hope he is able to get healthy and get back on the field with another NFL team. Good luck to AA.

  10. And this is the link on that article as well about South Alabama working on an at large bid. http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/conten...&CID=776874
  11. http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/conten...&CID=776840 Interesting stuff. Good pub for the Sun Belt. Looks pretty solid that we might get at least two teams in the big dance. Hopefully we can string some wins together and make a push through the Sun Belt tourney.
  12. The line looks to be UNT -10.5 pts. Too high, too low, or just about right? We lost to the Trojans last go around, but we have played well at home this year and look to get a little revenge. My guess is UNT 83 Troy 70. Anyone else?
  13. Not related to Patrick, but my guess is Parcells selects Glenn Dorsey (LSU) with the first pick. He is rock solid and will make that defense instantly better.
  14. Not that I get into this, but how many stars is this guy listed at? We needed beef up front and now we have it.
  15. I was just wondering if JaMario was playing in Senor bowl games or getting looked at by any NFL scouts????
  16. What time does the banquet start and how long does it typically last? I know Dickey licked to talk for awhile. I wonder how Dodge's speech will go.
  17. Didn't we already try this with his boy Kelvin Martin? And we know where that ended up..................
  18. Just a question but, why is it that kids can change their minds at the last minute but coaches can't? Oral commits are non-binding. And another question, why kids allowed to leave their school when their coach leaves? Is this not the same kind of scenario? And why is it just when the head coach leaves? What if they have grown fond of the their position coach and he leaves? Should the player be able to leave in that scenario too? I don't have a problem with this. Its just part of the system.
  19. I was thinking the same thing. I went and looked and behold, the same old logo from God knows when.
  20. This move only makes sense to me if one of two things happens. One, Greg Davis (offensive coordinator) is planning on retiring in the next year or two and wants to hand the reigns to Applewhite. Two, as it has been rumored in Austin, that Mack Brown might be done coaching in the next 3-5 years and UT preimptively brought Major Applewhite on board to be their future head coach (albeit 3+ years down the road). Otherwise, this a move backwards (although the pay is very competitive) as he will be taking on less responsibility.
  21. Its my understanding is that he was pushing to get on staff at Texas A&M where he coached from 1980-82. I'm not sure how solid the source of that info is but it makes a little sense. I don't like this suspense at all. We need to start a campaign: DeLo in Denton!
  22. Although absolutely funny, I would take getting to the national title game each year vs. winning 2 games each year.
  23. The only for sure loss on there is LSU. Its not like K-State is a stellar program anymore. They got drummed by Nebraska 73-31. Tulsa is good but I feel we can score plenty of points against those guys. Rice, we can win for sure. And I don't get into the "they beat so and so by 2 TDs who beat us" kind of crap. Lets use the same scenario above for example. K-State beats Texas 41-21, who beat Nebraska, who beat K-State 73-31. Explain that one wise ass. College football is week to week. Each game is its own. People get hurt, different venues, weather conditions, starting QB gets in a bar fight and gets suspended, etc. And I'm with UNTLifer on this one, go get some SMU tickets and watch us kick their ass in a few years when we play again.
  24. Looks like we made the list at #7. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=bottom100712
