  1. Dido, the man is sick. He will be the best NFL player out of the bunch, hands down.
  2. Not sure if this has been posted or if anyone noticed but it looks P-Cobbs got shafted last week vs. the Jets. He had zero carries. Instead, the spare carries went to S. Gado. Not cool at all.
  3. We did look tiny out there. Wooden was the only one comparable. Williams even looked small. And am I the only one that thinks Josh White looks like Avery Johnson when he's on the court? The little guy can play some ball. Great pick up by JJ.
  4. I agree. Whatever Coach Jones says at halftime, he needs to say before tip off. The second half, we looked like a totally different team. Great hustle on defense and we started making some plays on offense. We created some turnovers and made some outside shots. At the end of the day though, UT has superior talent. AJ Abrahams is the real deal. The way I look it, not too many teams in the whole country can beat that UT team when their clicking. We made a great effort in the second half. 14-0 vs. the #4 team in the land; not too shabby. The future looks bright for this team. Its good for them to get some game time vs. a team like Texas. They have a lot of speed and quickness. Should be good experience down the road. GO MEAN GREEN!!!!
  5. I'll be there acting a damn fool. I've got my game face on. I'm going with a buddy that went TU and I'm sure there will be plenty of $#!* talking. GO MEAN GREEN!
  6. And coaches have an obvious bias towards their team, conference, region, etc. I agree, the coaches poll is a joke. And on top of that, they don't have time to notice, outside of their own conference, how good other teams are. They are too busy with their own team in practices, film, games, recruiting etc. They don't have time to watch game film on other teams and therefore have to rely on box scores. The coaches poll should go.
  7. I agree to an extent. However, I was referreing to Flanigan's overall personality. He simply was not a good coach and seemed to not have grip on things. You have to remeber, his main resposiblity was the quarterbacks and look at how that situation progressively got worse over the years (i.e Byerly not staying involved in school and Meager's lack of development). And it was my understanding that Flanigan had full reign on the play calling the last two or three years he was here. Overall, Dickey was good coach and did great things for the program. At least we knew how to play defense while he was here.
  8. We've already seen how a coordinator can take down the head honcho (i.e. Dickey-Flanigan). Flanigan brought Dickey down with him and I would hate for the same to happen to Todd Dodge. But this is why he gets paid the big bucks (sort of). If he is confident that Mendoza is the right man for the position so be it. However, it is a decision that Dodge will have to live with.
  9. And the worst scoring defense in college football. Defense wins championships and we need defense. But, sometimes the key to a good defense is a good offense and vis versa. Hoepfully we can make some major improvements by next season. Click the following link if you dare; the defensive numbers are sickening. http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/2007/Internet/r...7000000497.HTML
  10. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content....&CID=746757 Poor NO Bowl gets no love. Truth is, unless you follow either team or either conference, you won't really care. The only thing that draws some interest is the fact that no other games are on that night.
  11. Same as the last two seasons, so not much has changed, yet! We had so many young players on the field with an entirely new system. I still contend that we need a new DC. Other than that, I'm still excited about the future.
  12. WTF is that helmet all about? Ugly as $#!*. If you haven't seen them, flip to ESPN2.
  13. Except for today, their only other losses are at Arkansas, at Florida, and at Georgia. I could name a ton of teams going to bowl games that couldn't pull any of those off. Troy should get the nod somewhere.
  14. Why would Leach leave Tech to go to Arkansas? He can win 7 or 8 a year at Tech, and they are happy with that. Do that at Arkansas, and they want your head on the chopping block.
  15. How the did Baylor compete during the Teaff era? There is no reason Baylor shouldn't be able to compete. If they were doing things right, they should be able pick up good recruits. Someone needs to head into Waco with an attitude and change the mentallity of that program. It comes down to attitude and the expectation of winning. Briles is an exciting character that can bring some major upside to the Bears. Of course, any progress will take some time there. I like the move by the Bears.
  16. Take it to the house. FIU is terrible and we will finish strong. I look for us to play well to finish strong. TD & Co. have too much pride to not go out with a bang.
  17. I 100% agree. He has done a great job there and I'm sure he got tired of dealing with the crazy Razorback fans. He will do a good job at Ol' Miss. This coaching carousel has been nuts (no pun intended). It amazes me how fast the resigning/firing and hiring process is moving.
  18. Final stats: 4 carries for 10 yards and 1 catch for 11 yards in an absolute sloppy mess. Get Heinz Field some field turf!
  19. Vizza isn't going anywhere. Riley is staying at UNT. Why would he decommit from UT, where most kids in the state dream to go, only to move all the way to Missouri? The reason he decided on UNT is becuase the Dodge family would have been torn between UNT and UT. Playing at Mizzou would only make that scenario worse. Meager and Phillips' eligibility is about up, so those guys in essence don't matter. I'd assume Johnson will stay given he's already transfered once. There should be a healthy competition at the wide out position this spring. The more, the merrier there. A ton of spots will be open on the defensive side of the ball. I doubt harldy anyone leaves on defense. I'm not sure where these thoughts came from but they are evil. We need all the bodies we can get this spring to have as much competition as possible.
  20. In the game right now. Go Pat!
  21. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Av...p&type=lgns Kragthorpe: "I'm 100 percent committed to Louisville" By WILL GRAVES, AP Sports Writer November 21, 2007 LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe tried to put to rest speculation that he was entertaining an offer from SMU, saying Wednesday reports of his departure were "total fiction." Kragthorpe said he was "100 percent committed" to the Cardinals, though the defending Big East champions have tumbled from out of the preseason Top 10 to the bottom of the conference. Louisville (5-6) will need to beat Rutgers next Thursday to hold onto any remote hope of making a bowl game for the 10th straight season. ADVERTISEMENT "I'm not going anyplace," Kragthorpe said. "I'm not interested in any other job. I'm committed to taking this team and this program back to the championship level." Kragthorpe said he felt compelled to come forward after seeing published reports that said he was considering taking the head coaching job at SMU. SMU athletic director Steve Orsini did not immediately return a call for comment. The Mustangs fired coach Phil Bennett in October, effective at the end of the season. "I'm not interested in going someplace else," he said. "I know you've heard that before, but I can guarantee you I'm not leaving the University of Louisville. "Certainly there have been some challenges with some off-the-field situations that I did not anticipate, but we're working through those." Though Kragthorpe said he's sure there are some disgruntled fans that would like to see him go, he's not ready to shy away from the high expectations that come with inheriting a program coming off its first Bowl Championship Series berth. The high expectations were among the reasons he decided to leave Tulsa and replace Bobby Petrino just days after the Cardinals won the Orange Bowl in January. "I want to be here for the rest of my career, hopefully that's a long, long time and certainly I know I've got to win some games for that to happen," said Kragthorpe, who is in the first year of a five-year deal that pays him $1.1 million annually. Wins have been hard to come by for a team expected to compete for another conference title. Though quarterback Brian Brohm has been spectacular at times, the Cardinals have been undone by a leaky defense that is 81st in the nation in yards allowed. Louisville has lost at home to Syracuse and Utah and was pounded 55-17 by South Florida last week, their worst defeat in nearly two decades. "The easy thing for me to do would be to leave, to just pick up and leave, but that's not the way I am, that's not the way I was raised," Kragthorpe said. "My parents raised me to never back down from a fight and I'll never back down from a fight and I've certainly got a fight on my hands, no doubt about it."
  22. As a UNT alum living in Austin, I was wondering who else was going to make the game?
  23. If you can zoom in at all, check out the two guys on the bottom right of the picture just above the Troy banner. Hilarious looks on their faces. The guy in green has his jaw dropped while his friend stands there, geeking out over what just occurred. Another thing, maybe two or three people in the whole picture are actually cheering. Everyone else is standing, praying this thing went in. Good pic.
