  1. I thought he was going to tear up. Between him and the other interviewees today, it’s clear that they love their teammates and UNT. I’m looking forward to following his career. Seems like a great guy.
  2. Morris has been pretty consistent in his coachspeak/approach: Build the team through HS recruits and fill in holes with TP/JUCO. He has to hit on those TP/JUCO kids, though. Rogers, Conwright, Cleveland, and Miner have all been contributors. Smith, Weslowski, Jackson, and Sides have all gotten significant playing time as well.
  3. I’ve seen some promotions on Twitter. Coach O is making a push to have 800 recruits at the game. I think the Holiday week may be some of what you’re feeling. I don’t believe there’s a coaches show, either. I agree, though. It doesn’t feel like a typical game week.
  4. As excited as I was for year one of Morris, I’m even more excited to see what year two of Morris brings in regards to recruits and on field results. I’m already trying to talk my wife into a Lubbock road trip. 😎😎😎
  5. I think he’s gone, too. Just the manner I’ve seen him answer questions regarding the A&M opening.
  6. I don’t know that 5 OL and 5 DL are necessarily needed. We have some talent on both sides of the ball, but a boost in size and depth is definitely needed. I also think a full offseason with Kegan’s is going to be very important for our teams as well.
  7. We’ve gotten some really talented kids from the FCS. I hope we’re able to identify and land some of those players.
  8. Right. And I don’t want it to seem like I’m dumping on the offense, either. They’ve been really really good, but we needed them to be nearly perfect for us to win. It was a tall ask versus those better teams.
  9. I think this is what Morris means when he says complementary football. It’s also a reason why PB’s defense improved in year two (SL ran the ball which led to fresher defenses and less possessions for the opposition). As explosive as the offense has been, they’ve come up short at times when the defense made the occasional stop.
  10. I’m not saying Robert Allen is Boris Diaw, but has anyone ever seen them in the same room together? ETA: Allen made some great passes while in the post. Diaw was a very skilled passing big man. It was a compliment to Allen.
  11. Agree. Towson is coming off a two game losing streak, too. Nice to see our guys commit to defense and capitalizing on those opportunities.
  12. Except for SMU and UTSA, right? 😂
  13. It was discussed on one of the interviews/podcasts. The flag varies by player/family backgrounds. I believe we’ve done this all season. I think our Australian punter has an Australian flag on his. And IIRC, last years punter had the Mexico flag.
  14. Morris just said on the coaches show that he’s likely to sign 20 HS kid and 10-15 JUCO/TP guys this offseason. Pure speculation: I’d assume those 10-15 are going to be OL, DL, and LB’s.
  15. Memphis v Tulane. SMU and UTSA lose out.
  16. I hope so, too. We can obviously score, now let’s clamp down!
  17. North Texas win over Purdue mentioned in the broadcast!
  18. For the coaches that have DFW as their territory, sure. We have coaches that also recruit other areas. This would also give Kegans a head start on next years workouts. Rather than dwell on the obvious negatives, I’m looking for some silver linings.
  19. Unless there’s just a home run hire, I don’t see him getting fired. I’ve seen some JUCO defensive offers gone out. I’m willing to give him another year. Also, let’s see how these last two games go. Missing a bowl game would allow the coaches to get on the recruiting trail. It may be a blessing in disguise.
