I’m glad we’re trending up, but I’m not too concerned about our rankings/stars. Our best transfers last year were Rogers (not rated in last years class), Miner (rated 76), and Rauschenberg (78). I feel more confident in our staff identifying the talent we need than a company rating players.

Cal offered, too. Not sure if proximity to his brother is a factor. I think he’d be a really good pickup for us.

I think EM was surgical with the HS and TP signees. Immediate O line, LB, secondary, WR, and RB starters via the TP. HS Spring enrollees of QB, DL, WR, and LB. Some of our HS fall signees will have a very real chance to contribute this season. I share your opinion that we do need a TP QB for depth/start. I’d also like at least one more DL, OL, and LB, but not sure if we’ll be able to land any of those wants. I’ve shared this on another post, but I’m curious how the returnees are progressing with Kegans. EM called him the best strength coach in the country! I’m excited to see what the teams looks like in the Spring and then the Fall.

Any update on the Hawaii QB? Any mutual interest?

Before spring, the LB group sounds good with those three. I’m excited to see how our early enrollees perform this spring, too. You’re right. Too many missed tackles. Guys seemed to be in position, but couldn’t bring the runner down.

I’m curious to know if they feel confident in the dline as it is. I don’t see many offers going out. Maybe they’re waiting for the spring portal? Maybe they feel good about the development of the current guys paired with the incoming freshmen? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. I think we need at least one more JUCO/TP Dlineman, but I’m just a fan.

I haven’t watched him, either. Brune bragged on him on during a couple of his podcasts. The podcast plus his HS accolades, and the staffs interest is enough for me. 🤷🏽‍♂️

He would be a huge addition to our QB room! He’s from Frisco, I believe. If he gets here in the spring, he could compete for the starting job.

Mike Craven said as much a few weeks ago. The recruiting sites pay attention to the 4/5’s and not so much to the 3’s. He pretty much said, “It’s a crapshoot with the 3’s”. I feel good about our coaches abilities to evaluate talent regardless of stars.

The only pushback I’d offer is Landon Sides. He was committed to Colorado School of Mines and we flipped him. A few on the board were not too excited about the pickup. He’s clearly a good player, though I just think with as many relationships/connections this staff has in the state, they are going to find the talent. Some of our recruits will have multiple offers, some may have a few. If the kid can play, this staff will identify them.
