  1. My suspicion as to why we have not offered yet is the fact that he is not that fast, we have a pretty good stable of running backs, and watching the one game that Adaway played in, we are in pretty good hands at that position. I think their focus is getting O-line guys with those last few scholarships. Unless this kid is a 2021 signee, I do not see us offering.
  2. Kind of out there, but what about FAU's Charlie Weis Jr? He is very young, but his father knows offense and apparently he has spent all that time learning under dad at all his father's stops. I am just asking. May not come at a high cost because he needs to continue to build his resume. However football scoop is reporting him as a favorite to go to USF.
  3. You are right. But, to be fair, they do not care for us either. Fans in the North Texas region are too much like Alabama fans. Meaning they are too busy cheering for a school and team in Austin that none of them ever attended.
  4. I am a little conflicted about how this game turned out. On one hand, I am glad SMU was humbled by a CUSA team. However, on the other hand, it just makes FAU look like they are miles ahead of us in this conference for a team that has only been playing football since 2001. This is their 19th year of playing football and they are already doing what we can't. There is no reason that we should not be dominating them year in and year out.
  5. They should be at AT&T all day because Denton Guyer vs Austin Westlake comes right after this game.
  6. I think if it is Briles that the Admin would approve if big name donors told them they are withholding those million dollar donations until they approve. At the end of the day, the old adage of "Money talks and bull$*** walks." holds true.
  7. According to 24/7 he was recruited by Emmett Jones and Mike Ekeler. Emmett Jones is a UNT alumni and is from Dallas. We would have a good shot if we were able to hire him away from KU to be the outside receivers coach here. Not sure I would want to hire a coach just to get a player even though that players offer list is amazing. Now if Jones is a great receivers coach and we could afford him, I would say go after him.
  8. Not sure how I feel about this hire. I will take a wait and see approach. I hope it works out and I hope he is a great recruiter.
  9. If he is in the portal in 2 years, he won't come here. His ego will not allow him to admit he made a mistake.
  10. I hate to lose him, but right now he was the lowest ranked of the defensive ends that we were bringing in.
  11. He may well have known, but your asking a kid to rat on his father when his father is not actually the one who is committing the crime. 99% of people will not rat on their fathers if he was not actually committing the crime, but knows what is happening. Those kids would generally try and talk to their fathers about what they should do, but they are not going to go to the authorities and say "hey there is something going on, my dad knows about it, but he is not doing anything about it." For all we know, he may have tried over and over to talk to his dad about the situation. We will never know what their private family conversations were about.
  12. His punishment is he has most likely been passed over for several coaching jobs and hc jobs because of his father. I mean exactly what did he do? I agree with this. What exactly has he done wrong?
  13. I understand your thought process, but at some point people have to forgive. They both have served their punishment and if there is no forgiveness in this world then a lot of us would not be where we are today. Just my opinion. I would be okay with the hire. Baylor is long behind us. To be honest, I think the Briles were just the scapegoats in a system that was corrupt from the top down. Again, just my opinion.
  14. Well, with his degree, I hope he eventually gets to OCS so he can lead Soldiers. I think he would make an excellent officer. He is a team first guy and as a retired Senior NCO, I can tell you that what Soldiers value most are leaders who care about the team and will take care of their Soldiers. He strikes me as that type.
  15. That was a little surprising. We may have a chance, but like MeanGeenTexan brought up, 500k is where we need to go. I wonder how much the Prez and BOR are willing to let Seth negotiate with?
  16. 500k we could make work. I really think that is where we have to go to get a great DC and OC.
  17. If we want Briles, we better be prepared to back the Brinks truck up to his house and unload some money. FSU signed him at a base salary of 200k with another 800k in compensation. I am sure there are programs at the P5 level that are willing to pay close to that amount. I think that is a little too rich for UNTs blood. If we paid that amount, then people would know we are serious, but it would take a lot to get us back in the black.
  18. What is going on with this kid?
  19. I am liking this recruiting that we are doing now. He can help us after we have wasted a scholly on Bryce English.
  20. This is big time. With Hambone leaving this seems like we should not have any drop off at DE.
  21. Where did you get this info? He is not listed on the active roster, IR, practice squad, or the non football related injury roster. Their website doesn't even mention him in any transactions that have occurred over the last three months. Is this something that is in the works?
  22. Watching it for free on Big West Conference TV online. https://bigwest.org/watch/default.aspx?Live=2482&path=hawaii
  23. Who didn't see this comming? I mean the kid has been going to every QB camp in the country at several schools. He has been testing the waters since he committed. All the UNT hype he was spouting was just to keep people off of his back until the right offer came around. I knew as soon as FSU offered that he was gone. He just waited for as long as he could to say it. Dec 19th is fast approaching so he announces the day before Thanksgiving hoping that people wouldn't notice because it would be overshadowed by the holiday. That's my opinion. I don't wish anything bad on him, but I knew he wasn't coming here a long time ago so I had already come to terms with it.
