  1. Good Lord, Abou had a game. Hitting all the bunnies he missed early in the season. If he keeps that soft touch going, he's going to be the force we all believe he can be.
  2. Gotcha. Regardless, the school appears to be making a significant commitment to success unless these guys are all taking less money for a better job title which seems unlikely.
  3. I believe it was @TheReal_jayDwho mentioned in a since-deleted thread that Morris would have a much larger assistant coach salary pool than SL did considering his salary is about $600k less than SL's. If true, it's starting to show.
  4. Read that other comment differently than it appears it was intended. Good point, though.
  5. If our new DC doesn't know a player from hist most recent school, there's a problem.
  6. Stop, this is great. I feel like I'm watching an episode of Cold Case Files.
  7. Are people in the middle west aware there's different kinds of "peppers" and not all are made equally?
  8. Would be a great spot for him. He was a true freshman this past season so he could redshirt this upcoming season while Harris completes his 7th season. McCown would be in a prime position to takeover in 2024.
  9. Just answered the questions I was about to submit. Surely he wouldn't put all his time in being OC when he's got an entire team and staff to manage. Sounds like he'll go the Sean McVay route. McVay may have an OC in LA but we know who really pulls the strings.
  10. I'm confused as to why position coaches are being put in place without an OC? Unless there's an OC waiting to be announced who's ok with them? Thinking Joel Filani? Or am I over thinking this?
  11. Will certainly be interesting to see how things play out.
  12. Agree 100% on all points here. Still blows my mind how the NCAA doesn't realize they'd make more money if all programs were on an equal playing field. They alienate half their fan pool by only facilitating select programs to be elite. As it is, many fans, and potential viewership, tune out after their school's bowl game has passed.
  13. Jace Amaro was an All-American TE in 2013 at Texas Tech, Morris' first year coaching there. Amaro had over 1300 receiving yards and 7 TDs. I don't know Morris' direct involvement there but if that's any indication, I think our TEs will have incredible years. Wonder if that was part of his pitch to Gumms to stay.
  14. Yes I understand what the problem is. I just think it's hypocritical of Traylor to make a stink about it considering he'd like do the same if he were at a P5. I say that without knowing him personally so maybe I'm wrong. He's right to complain about it. I just hope if he gets plucked by a P5, he doesn't do the same the G5.
  15. Good for him speaking up. Question is, if he gets a P5 gig will he do the same?
  16. Deion's method will bite him in the rear at the P5 level. Pointing at his son and saying "that's your quarterback" might work at the FCS level but you can't just play your guys because they're "your guys" against the talent they'll be facing. Telling the players to leave and recruits their offers are no longer valid is silliness too. He's not creating an environment that fosters competitiveness and you need that when playing even talent. His talent won't outclass his competition anymore. He's also being a douche in the process. Deion doing it the way he did was impersonal in a field that requires people skills and was frustrating and humiliating to Colorado's players. This guy's stock is going to crash hard. Anyways, Morris > Deion. '“It was hectic,” Mott said. “It was a huge mess. I actually never got contacted by Deion or any of his new (on-field) staff. I got called. They told me that coach Deion didn’t want to honor my commitment and hung up the phone. I was in a group chat with all the other commits and they were all I guess freaking out, too, because a lot of us had our options closed for months now being committed to Colorado. So we hadn’t reached out to any school. It was a whole big deal.”' https://theathletic.com/4005958/2022/12/19/deion-sanders-colorado-commitments/
  17. Deion ain't Morris. Come back to this in a year. He can recruit but coaching is going to be different at the P5 level.
  18. I'm intrigued by all the panic with decommits and transfers. Obviously we need to maintain our top talent that's already here but otherwise, I'm not upset about guys decommiting or backups leaving. It's happened before and it'll happen again. SL took a team from 1-11 to 5-8 in year 1 with much less to work off of and much less to sell. Yes, we're going to a new conference, but there's no reason Eric Morris can't elevate us in year 1 of his tenure. If this turns into a rebuild instead of building on what we have, year 1 will be a failure. I don't see that happening. We'll be fine.
  19. Like who? I'm not the best at tracking this stuff.
  20. Relax and read through the thread. Morris' mentor, Leach, died and his memorial is Tueaday so they had to move the press conference.
  21. That's what's so great about NET. It's fluid and does a good job at taking into account the entire season, not just a quality win at the right time. Wins like Grand Canyon and UMass will look better in March than they do now.
  22. This roster is leaps and bounds better than what it was when SL took over. Our DL is the only glaring issue to me, outside of identifying the next QB. Defense goes as the DL goes. Most secondaries can't keep up with receivers after 4 or 5 seconds since defense is all reactive to begin with. It's up to the DL to create pressure on the QB and up to the DL to swallow up blockers for LBs to get in and work on run plays before the RBs get to the second level. We need size and depth there and I think the defense will work itself out. Kicker is the third big need outside of DL and identifying the next starting QB. I say identifying the next QB because we really don't know what we have since they got such little opportunities. Our next QB could already be on the roster.
