  1. NT 33 FAU 34 12:21 to go maybe, just maybe
  2. this guy seems to think so https://twitter.com/GSwaim I don't think he's gotten too much right during realignment, but he seems to think the Big 12 leads the way by taking 6 from the ACC. - what's the trickle down effect for us? - didn't Bowlsby recently say the Big 12 liked 10? and that they made the most money per school out of any conference? seems crazy to want to be sharing that money with others who obviously don't command that price in the ACC right now
  3. they get lucky and miss having to play Louisville though
  4. that 2013 CUSA doesn't look too bad. Too bad it can't stay that way... None of those are bad home games or roadtrips. Here's to hoping CUSA makes ECU come play us at Apogee and maybe Southern Miss and Tulane as our other two crossover games. A guy can hope, right?
  5. 2013 looks good. My bet is that Tulane goes East for 2013 since they'll begoing bigEast for good starting in 2014. C-USA West (6) UTEP North Texas UTSA Rice Tulsa LA Tech
  6. Coach Jones will lose a lot of games with players left to him. People at UNT liked him. Then he left the school for a better job. Everyone listed the reasons they loved him. Coach Benford is losing a lot of games with players left to him. Most people expected a better season. Everyone lists the reasons they hate him. In retrospect, he probably should've scheduled like Johnny and we'd have a better record
  7. an indoor facility should be a very high priority
  8. in all reality, if it weren't for the money, Johnny should've stayed here...he's not a big time college coach, not even in a weak SEC
  9. ^ this I learned way too much about Wanchese, Skyco, etc when I was in the Outer Banks last summer
  10. i thought when I saw the title that I was about to read about Antwan Goodley or Levi Norwood heading up to Denton, but like LT said ^, we'll take all the help that comes our way. Baylor's been churning out some good WRs recently, and he's been practicing in that system. Welcome aboard
  11. I'm gettin antsy. Just ready for the dominoes to fall already. P.S. it's officially the off-season now... why does the best sport have to be the shortest sport?? I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder
  12. Zeigler makes a compelling argument for SDSU to stay Big East/Big West. The saved travel expenses and time in the Olympic sports would appear to pay dividends come tournament time, not to mention how those close roadtrips appeal to momma and daddy. If SDSU really is able to amp up their nonconference with the likes of Kansas, Connecticut, Cincy, Memphis, etc then it would be worth it a la Gonzaga. What would be the mileage comparison of the 4 football roadtrips per year compared to what Hawaii has to do no matter what conference they're in? I would think it wouldn't be too unreasonable, especially if the Big East can get one more western team (BYU in football only?). Obviously West Virginia thought 4 long road trips were worth it. If Aresco really wants to keep the Big East together, he's going to need to "win" one of these battles in keeping a team in the fold. He should start with the Aztecs
  13. Take care, my love. That savors strongly of bitterness.
  14. by your reasoning, they finished 1st place (out of 6) in the Big XII South in 2010... I think more accurately, they finished 3rd place (out of 7) in the SEC West behind Alabama and LSU (who has tiebreaker due to the head-to-head 24-19 victory), and with Florida's head to head win and Georgia's SEC East championship, as well as South Carolina's identical league record, I'll stand by my "5th-6th place" assessment. Pretty sure they finished top 3 in the Big XII (out of 12) in that aforementioned 2010 season with wins over both the North and South champ
  15. UNTexas, Texas A&M was a middling Big XII team. Frequently finishing around 4th-7th in the conference. They are now a middling SEC team, finishing 5th-6th in the conference. They're right about where they've always been right now, but on a much bigger platform with a guy playing QB that I'd sell my soul to have here (and I really home BB is gonna be that kind of spark for us)... But saying they weren't terribly competitive? that statement alone calls in to question your intelligence and football knowledge. if you’re a fan of a Big 12 school, more than likely you’re still bitter about the Aggies bolting for that other league. Sorry to break it to you, but A&M is completely legit. So too is that Heisman-winning quarterback Manziel. If you’re incapable of at least giving Manziel and the Aggies their deserved due now, you’re not worthy of that same respect yourself. But don't be bitter about it. I guess we're going to Conference USA from the Belt because we couldn't be competitive so we're taking our ball and going home? that's ridiculous. just like our move to CUSA, the SEC was an upgrade for them.
  16. Not this guy. I probably won't come back unless we win three games in a row at some point. However, I might just make it to the MUTS game on the 24th so I can say I saw a tournament team... However, in all honesty, I probably won't miss another ladies game. Coach has got them playing some decent hoops; they just have to stay off that rollercoaster. August 31 vs Idaho @ Apogee Stadium
  17. can you provide links that BYU is unhappy with the WCC? Otherwise, I'm gonna have to side with wardly that BYU enjoys going up against the CA Catholic & Methodist* schools (Pacific*) as well Gonzaga and Portland (WA & OR). I also think 22 is too unwieldy. Hasn't the NCAA said only 1 bid even if the numbers are that big? the current BE schools would be crazy to give up that bid to join CUSA. look for the nBE to snap up UMass out of the MAC to 'replace' Boise. As stated in a previous post, I think the MWC only adds one (UH or SMU possibly...) and SDSU needs a Rocky Mtn traveling partner to the east coast. It's gotta be someone who is willing and able to go now (2013) a la Temple and TCU
  18. just ranking some of the ones i've already seen on here. 1.) the WIN over Louisiana on Tuesday night. small crowd, but awesome atmosphere. Jim-Jim for the win 2.) Sun Belt regular season and tournament championships for the soccer team (and NCAA tourney berth - a W over tech wouldve prob been #1) 3.) first half KState 4.) the run to the tournament championship in the bball tournament 5.) women's track championship; Steve White going to the NCAA finals and Olympic Trials 6.) joining CUSA (at the time it was higher)
  19. For some reason, I keep getting the feeling that SMU will be the 12th member of the MWC. They're gonna follow in the footsteps of rival, TCU, in what they delusionally hope will lead them to their promised land (the Big 12) I think San Diego State stays in the Big East with Connecticut, Cincinnati, Temple, South Florida, Central Florida, Houston, and Memphis. Tulane and ECU will still join in 2014; Navy will probably still join in 2015. That leaves one opening for their desired 12. the Big East is desperate, of course several CUSA teams are desperate too. Maybe New Mexico State finally gets their lifeline out of their dire situation. You gotta think their AD/president is working the phones with some conference out there...I can see BYU ending their football independence in 2015 and joining with Navy. Their Olympic sports will stay in the WCC and the Cougs will join the BE in football only. In this carousel we call realignment, the next two moves are here: 1) who is #12 in the MWC? (11 is a weird number) and 2) who is the new #12 in the future BE? Contrary to an earlier post, I do not think the ACC or Big12 will toss a lifeline suddenly to UConn or Cincy. They haven't yet. What has suddenly changed with Boise State leaving that will force their (ACC/Big12) hand? Nothing. The Big 12 is in a good situation right now. At least the powers that be believe that, AND the money is good. Same with the ACC. They are just waiting to see if B1G/SEC are done. The power conferences are 3. B1G, SEC, PAC. Delany always starts the big moves...Penn State in the early 90s led to the SEC moves (SC and Arkansas) which led to the SWC/big8 merger, Big East moves (Miami, VaTech, etc) which eventually led to the ACC moves (Miami, VaTech, BC); the Nebraska move led to the next big wave by the PAC (Utah, Colorado), the SEC (A&M, Mizzou), Big East (too numerous), ACC (Pitt/Cuse/ND/Louisville), and the Big12 (WV, TCU). See Maryland for this current wave. The trickle down always follows from there. Hence, my two aforementioned moves. If there are to be BIG moves, look to Delany and the B1G
  20. I know that I will be bringing 6 people that don't normally come with me. When I went in and picked up my tickets earlier, they had had more than a thousand people already take up this generous donor on the offer. Do I think giving away tickets is bad? Yes. But this isn't giving away tickets. This appears to be someone who is offering to buy tickets for others. Maybe I'm naive in believing this, or perhaps I'm not as cynical and caustic as some of y'all yet... Whatever the case, Thank you for the free tix! Lookin forward to a W and Go Mean Green
