  1. I had recently watched Friday Night Lights on cable, and that led me to do a little research on the 88 Odessa team. While doing this, I found a web-site for Odessa's first state championship season 1965. This is their 40th anniversary for that championship year, which started it all for them. I had the privilege of watching that first championship team, although I wasn't pulling for them at the time. They played their semi-final game against Texarkana (the team I was pulling for) at Amon Carter Stadium. Here is a trivia question for us old-timers. What future University of Texas stars played in that 1965 play-off game?
  2. Forget about the extra food coloring, just make sure there's lots of lime in it.
  3. I would like to suggest that you not hold your breath while you're waiting.
  4. ........ and the other 17 tight ends on the roster. ←
  5. If he has sure hands, and can make good decisions, then this guy excites me.
  6. What? No framed poster of BEAUTIFUL Fouts Field?
  7. Joe Greene could probably play today, but he would have a big adjustment because the players are bigger and faster than when he played college ball. Of course, he had the same adjustment to make when he went and played pro ball. Just because I disagree with your assessment that the QB situation is not all that critical this year, I would tend to bring back a QB from our past. Probably Jordan Case, Joe Stevenson, Scott Davis or Mitch Maher. In that order. If we were playing a "bombs away" offense, then naturally I would bring back Steve Ramsey. Besides their accomplishments as QB's they just LOOKED like good QB's.
  8. Actually Sunday the 14th (the first day of pads) can't get here soon enough.
  9. Can you bring your own stadium chair into Fouts?
  10. The only "Native American" reference that I object to is "Redskin" and "Savage". I thought there were MUCH MORE important topics for the NCAA to address. Silly me!

  12. Byerly is three times the QB that Ieans ever thought about being. Byerly plays with MUCH MORE confidence, skill, and consistency than Ieans ever thought about playing with. ANYONE with even a modicum of talent-assessment ability who observed spring practice could have seen that. Now, the only other way that Ieans and Byerly even remotely "looked alike" was by virture of the color of their skin. Emmitt, I just KNOW that you weren't implying that that was my main criteria.
  13. I think you have Ieans listed too high.
  14. A week or so ago, I was suggesting the same thing for some of the more "testy" posters on this board......
  15. The word "sewn" still sounds strange to me. I would like to go out there and observe just how they "sew" this stuff.
  16. I like my explaination better.
  17. People that are on probation. One more screw-up and......
  18. Oh Good! A licensing question. As regards the "stylized Eagle", if you are going to sell them then you need to get a licensed vendor to make them, and get CLC AND the University to approve them. Good luck, and may God have mercy on your soul.
  19. So Jim, are you now able to cut back on your prozac dosage now that the board is back up?
  20. Believe me on this. Sams will not let them sit there for a year.
