  1. You'll need to talk to someone in the Ticket office. I think that they prefer that you park an RV over by the "Armadillo", but I don't see why you couldn't pay for a couple of parking spaces in the green lot, which would put you closer to the "village".
  2. SMU AND Notre Dame won?!?!.......
  3. ....when we were a 1-AA school. We spotted Texas Tech 21 points in the first half and came back to win 29 to 24. SO! The last time we opened the season with a win over a 1-A school when WE were ALSO a 1-A school was..........1980 vs UTA. We helped them open their new stadium with a loss, NT 31 UTA 14. If you don't think that UTA counts as a 1-A school, then we would go back to 1979 with an opening win over UTEP....35-0. Lighten-up Harry. I don't think that anyone is blaming the coaching staff or the players for the uni's. We still love our team.
  4. I kind of liked their look tonight. I call it WINNING GREEN! At least we aren't wearing uni's that have Daffy Eagle on the helmet. You've all seen that commercial where the couples talk about their TV sucking (one of my favorites these days). THATS how I felt about our uni's during the "Daffy Eagle" era.
  5. That morning my wife and I were running a bit late getting ready for work. She heard on the radio (KRLD) that one of the towers was on fire and it was reported, but unconfirmed at the time, that it was hit by an airplane.....or possibly a missle. I turned NBC on and they had a copter filming the fire in the first tower. Then I stood there and watched live coverage of the second tower being hit. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was horrible.
  6. What I would like to know is how a "mid-major" with a stadium holding only 25K managed to get a BCS school to play them at home!
  7. Rick wanted me to let all of the people who have ordered jerseys know that they are in, and he has them with him. So, if you ordered one, and you are going to the MUTS game, you can pick yours up at "the boro". Otherwise, you can PM Rick and let him know how you want to get yours. BTW, Rick says they look great! Don't ask me about the color. He didn't describe it to me. Don't ask me about the price. If you ordered one, you should already know.
  8. Okay, I find this really strange. Setting the eligibility issue aside, why does Dickey think that this guy can play football this year. This is not an Adrian Awasome situation. This guy hasn't played football for several years. Can someone clue me in?
  9. I'd call gaining 1K in the SEC while your team is in a rebuilding year pretty outstanding.
  10. Imagine how well we'll recruit when we start winning OCC games that amount to a hill of beans (or ANY OCC games for that matter), plus REGULARLY win the NO bowl.
  11. This especially true about people in the entertainment business.
  12. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but are North Texas AND Texas making history this Saturday? We know the reason for our team making history, but is this the first meeting EVER between Ohio State and Texas? BTW, North Texas has never played Ohio State....or Michigan.....or Illinois (Illinois state yes...and Southern Illinois).....or Purdue.....or Michigan State......or Iowa....or Northwestern (Northwestern State yes)...or Minnesota....or Indiana....or Penn State....or Wisconsin. Hmmmm,
  13. At this point, I'm beginning to believe the it's going to take someone driving a stake through his heart for him to be finally finished.
  14. Hmmmm, I'm wondering how long it will take me to forget about yet another self-absorbed, overpayed, elitist-attitude, former BCS football-player-turned-analyst..............about now will do. I hope this prima donna gets a good taste of what the rest of us have to live with in the REAL WORLD. I only wish that someone would fire Craig James as well.
  15. I seriously doubt that the Saints will fund any sort of new stadium. They will want the city of NO (or La) to build it.
  16. I seriously doubt that the superdome could be converted into anything similar. If the dome is 30+ years old, then they've probably been thinking about replacing it anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints get REAL comfortable in San Antonio. SA has been wanting a pro football team for some time now. Who knows.....
  17. Yet another player with "great potential" that we have spent too much time salivating over. Give me the Patrick Cobbs, Andy Brewsters, Chris Hurds, Taylor Caseys, and Evan Cardwells of the world.
  18. When I was a child living in Longview Texas in the 50's, I remember that Longview had a bus system. My family had ONE car, and when my dad had the car and was out of town with it, the rest of us rode the bus. It worked quite well. We also walked to many of the placed that we wanted to go. If it was too far to walk, then I did something radical....I got on my bicycle. I know it was a different time, but the point is that our love affair with the automobile is always going to get in the way of us being independent regarding energy. Mass transit, we are the only industrialized country that seems to resist it.
  19. Interesting article. http://www.salon.com/opinion/blumenthal/20...n/index_np.html
  20. I know that it's a bit early to speculate. But things don't look the least bit positive for NO hosting ANY sort of event, much less a bowl game. So, assuming that we win our fifth conference championship......what then?
  21. ....and we needn't look any furthur than last years UT game to help make your point. When are we going to start scheduling the ACU's and Angelo States again to open our seasons.
  22. Harry, I have seen specials (probably on the history channel or discovery channel) about past disasters, which lead to discussions on the shows about possible future disasters. One of the scenarios that was discussed was a catagory 5 hurricane hitting NO, and what it would mean to the city as things stood right then. As I recall, the people on the shows were saying that the scenarios that were being discussed were not an "If", but a "WHEN". They have known for some time that they have been dodging the bullett, and they have known for some time about what they have needed to do to shore up their defenses. Looks like "WHEN" has finally arrived. I feel bad for those poor people down there. I hope that the looters are going to be dealt with harshly. I also hope that anyone caught gouging those poor Lousiana people are dealt with just as harshly.
