thanks for the info- so does this mean NT has 65 players on scholarship now, + 20 incoming freshmen = 85 players on scholarship? Is this correct?

Stadium- A modern, 1st class stadium will bring in the fans, recruits, top teams, and a better conference. Buit it and they will come!

Alot of players trying out wanting to play for Coach Dodge- A total of 85 players on scholarship, + 20 walk ons = 105, and another 15 invited players = 120 players. With the 20 new requits on scholarship, will this mean there will be 140 players coming this fall ? I am sure there will be other walk-ons this fall- I wonder how many more will show up?

Yes- NT needs a great new football stadium- first class facility! I do beleive the new stadium will become a reality someday. For now- I would like to see Fouts packed every home game. Sell outs! We had 5194 fans for the spring game--and all of us saw the birth of something special! I beleive our own "grass roots" system--talking to our friends--and fellow NT grads--will pay off. The interest in NT athletics is coming back bigger than ever. I have had many ex NT grads , that never thought twice about NT football, now tell me they are excited about NT football, and they want to go to the games. I had a few NT alumi come to games last year--man, were they ever impressed with all the pre- game activities! Now with Coach Dodge running the show, these same alumi are even more fired up about this coming season. Pride in NT is coming back, and I fully beleive we will see more fans at NT than ever before! Any success on the field, will just add more fan support! So, I say, keep talking to everyone you know-pass the word-it all starts with us, in our own backyards!

What ever- Yes they are in HS- Yes- they are not on campus until the fall- Look at their bio's-- tell me these guy's will not help us! Coach Dodge said we have quality and not quanity-right now- Coach Dodge and staff went after WR's that are good enough to come right in and contribute right away! I guess all the NT fans will have to wait until the opening kick off ay zero-u to see who will actually play.

Yes- I know Montgomery is on campus- and looked pretty good in the spring game. I read somewhere in the one of the Todd Dodge articles on NT recruiting, that he beleived these receivers are farther along in their abilities and tallents, than we as NT fans, would expect from incoming freshmen. Coach Dodge also said the staff targeted recruits, they beleive, that could come in and play, or start as true freshmen.

Coach Dodge said all the new recruits and especially the receivers are farther along that we would expect. One thing is for sure, Coach Dodge likes tall receivers- Roberson at 6-4 King at 6-3 Johnson and Dibrell at 6-2 Lewis at 6-1 RB Mosley- at 6-1, he could possibly find playing time as a receiver also. RB Montgomery at 6-2, I can see him playing a big roll in the passing game and - Walker at 5-11, the same height as Fitzgerald- and what a surprise he has become! All of these receivers are very athletic, bring alot of speed, and big targets! I will bet, the yards after catch numbers will jump dramaticly this season!

I was wondering if the NT Radiol Network has added any new stations for the 2007 season. Last year-how many stations carried our games? KNTU-FM 88.1---Denton KWRD-FM 100.7 ---Dallas KAFR-FM 88.3 ----- Houston Only 3 stations? I would listen to KNTU and KWRD-- reception was bad-because the "rock" stations would bleed over, or the the signal would fade out. I thought there was a station in Longview that also carried our games? I beleive NT needs a station in San Antonio, Beaumont, El Paso, Midland/Odessa too! I always would get a kick out of George Dunham saying " the North Texas Radio Network"

The NT athletic department will have a booth set up at this turnament- Coach Dodge and Rick V will be there- Good job by the Athletic Department!! Any GMG fans going to the turnament? If so- please try to get some photo's, report on the fan response- any VIP's stoping by. I can not go- I wish I could

Latif Nurudeen- thats right, he really impressed the coaches, looked like he had become a starting CB until he was injured. This guy will be a good candidate for another scholarship-so that is 3 players for sure that are worthy of scholarships- WR Evan Fentriss, WR Casey Fitzgerald, and DB Latif Nurudeen. Any others that might earn scholarships?

Which of the new recruits will make a impact or play? I beleive if any of these new recruits are good enough-as freshmen- then let em play. Any player that improves the team, Freshman or 5th year senior-should play. First- I beleive all of the WR's will play. There will be some real stars in this group! Roberson, Dibrell,Johnson,King, Walker-these guys will be bring speed, size, and athletic ability. Any one of them or all of them will make the NT receiving corp very powerful! Second, Desoto, and Scoggins-DT/NG-I would like for these 2 to get into the mix- get these guys college game experience, - let them play! Third- Ealey-- great athlete, speed, I would try to RS him- When he comes into the fall camp, lets see what he brings to the table. Start as a DB-not yet. Special teams- yes. I beleive the staff can find something for him to handle. Forth- Vizza. Give him a chance to see what he can do. Has a big edge with running a spread offense, and you know Dibrell will be his favorit target. Meager has the QB position locked down for now. Most of his injuries came from his aggressive play and poor protection-in this offense you get rid of the ball fast-this may keep him healthy. If Vizza comes in, takes contol of the offense, moves the chains, makes the right decisions, -- he will have to be really, really good to start. If he clearly out plays all the QB's- heck yes- start him! Fifth- all the other recruits will redshirt.

I wonder if one of DD's coaches are selling this defensive play book or one of his former players?

Hey, CBL- it is OK to Dream! I dream about maybe Exxon will creat and bring back a new SWC, with a New Years bowl game tie end at the new Jerry World complex in Arlington. NT,TCU,SMU,Tulsa,UTEP,NMST,NM,Baylor,Rice,Houston,TxState,all 3 LaLa schools, Tulane Talk about a East/West/North/South conference, most in driving distance, most with established rival/local opponents, all here in our back yard! This makes sense- but in college football, anything that makes sense does not work!

I know the max on scholarship is 85, and recuiting is 25 ? How the hell does TxTech sign 29 or 30 for 2006, and 28 for 2007? Does Coach Dodge have any "preferred walk on's" coming in for the fall? I know NT signed 20 kids. How many scholarships were available to use, and how many scholarships were saved that could be used later on?

Speaking of fat- I did notice 2 or 3 OL guys that were really--well-- I will call it "baby fat"-- These guys need to work out and trim down!

Here is a few more- To play or not play at Texas Stadium- Money games/boby bag games, playing 1-AA teams- Meager vs Wilson vs Tune vs Phillips vs Vizza--this fall We dont get 5 * recruits- Deals to put up "Billboards"- Any post that starts with "We need to" For example, "We need to paint all the curbs in Denton GREEN" Then the debates start again- what shade of green for the curbs? Hi-jack threads- for example a discussion about Football is going on- then- right in the middle of the posts something like this appears-"I like the Easter Bunny"

How about when will DCTF magazine hit the stores? Debate the Under Armor contract-deal? Which is better, BBQ beef or BBQ pork? Are we going to be able to report on Coach Dodge's QB/WR football camps in July? Is Coach Dodge going to visit Grand Prairie TX this year? When will the strippers start biting at Lake Texoma, Whitney, and Tawakoni?

From the $muts board/spring game report-there schedule has a 7pm kick off for the NT game- Why so late-I thought a 1 or 3 pm was set up? Thats ok- 7pm in September is a little cooler- The later kick off will give us more time to fill ford staidum for the phonies!

I beleive the Todd Dodge QB and WR Camps will help NT in national recruiting. Kids from all over the country, want to attend Coach Dodge's football camps. The camps are for 10th-12th graders-so, there is time to develop relationships with the kids, parents, and HS coaches. In this mix, there will be "national" recruits- so who knows- maybe NT can sign some of these kids- Also- Coach Dodge completed his "Coaches Clinic" during our spring practice- over 150 HS coaches from several states attended-Coach Dodge has made new recruiting contacts with these coaches (who by the way stayed on campus-visited NT) Coach Dodge stated he wanted to target a 50 mile radius around Denton for recruiting the DFW metroplex-I read more positive reports from top area HS coaches/programs about Coach Dodge and his staff with recruiting there schools, and the doors are now open for NT coaches! Start here in our own backyard first-DFW area, east and west Texas- Houston, San Antonio, south Texas- there is a ton of top football talent here. I would not worry about the " National Recruits" -just sign the best Texas kids from across the state! They will want to come to NT!

I read in the FW*T, the NT spring game report, that walk-on scholarships are usually awarded in August. Looks like 2 scholarships are taken now! Fentriss and Fitzgerald! Hell Yes! With the fall practice season, will there be any walk ons coming in? DD had "preferred walk ons" -- Will NT have any preferred walk ons this fall? So, If a kid walks on in the fall, makes the team and is worthy of a scholarship- the scholarship cannot be given until the following August? Is this correct? I thought Tune walked on in the fall, then DD awarded a scholarship to Tune just after last years spring game. Who makes/approves the decision to give a walk on a scholarship?

Did anyone see anything on TV regarding our spring game? I was watching sports- changing channels every few minutes Sunday night, but never saw anything regarding the NT spring game. I saw the small articles in the DamnMN, and FW*T. I thought the FW*T report was the best of the 2 papers. One would think the local sports guys would cover this event- The DRC had some good reports-Good for our hometown paper!
