Sam Roberson, the 6-4, 210lbs WR from Somerville HS, and B.J. Lewis, 6-1, 190lbs WR from Waco Robinson HS are incomming freshmen also--unles something has changed. Also, the track star high jumper--I forgot his name-- is suposed to walk on this fall.

Dodge 2007- Some how, I sense that you are on campus and that you have freinds in key places-- Please give some insider info- Are you currently a student at NT? If so, do you know any of the players? Do you have access to "insider" info, like the fact you reported Vizza and other players are playing catch on their own- I do like your reports and notes, so I guess your postings come from first hand knowledge. To all Mean Green fans- Do not beleive all the stories in these "national" football mag rags! Looks like to me, the these mag rags just copy each other with the same stories. These mag writers do not know Coach Dodge, and the do not know the players! The main point is, these writers do not know what to think about North Texas, so, they are basing all of their predictions upon the last 2 years of Dickey ball. Forget all the past, because this team has been reborn! I beleive this team will develop much faster than what many beleive, and will win more games than you think! Just have the faith! Beleive in the Mean Green, Beleive in Coach Dodge, and Beleive in the Players!

We have traditions- I like these 1. Eagle claw, held up during kick offs 2. Thats good for another First Down - I raise my arm and point like the ref when he signals "First Down" 3. The band playing the fight song- make I get cold chills when I hear it! I would like to hear this song more during the games! Other notes- 1. Yes- parking lot fans, please get into the stadium! 2. I try to get the NT fans sitting around me, to talk about what is giong on, plays, players, high fives, get the fans excited! I see fans that seem embarresed to get "crazy" - I try to change their attitude !

I was reading about the Sun Belt Media days to be held July 23-24 at the Hilton Saint Charles. All the SBC coaches will bring one football player to the media days program. I wonder which player Coach Dodge will take with him to the SBC media event. My guess, will be Jamario Thomas.

Last year, Texas blitzed 2 corners, LB's, on each and every play-dared North Texas to try a pass- destroyed our run game and passing game. Texas wanted to break in their new QB, not take alot of risks on offense because the focus was on their defense to win the game-and it worked. Was not hard to figure out the DD offense and how to stop it. Very easy to do. This year will be different. Count on it!

Yes, those were the days when NT had several key quality players that could balance out the opponets strengths. I am concered about the NT interior D-Line guys matching against the sooners O-Line play. I did watch most of the sooners spring game replay- I noticed these huge O-Line guys seemed alittle slow and their mobility was rusty-so- maybe, if our DL guys can get under and around these giants, NT has a chance to stop their run game and disrupt the pass attack. I just do not want our LB's getting caught flat on pass coverage with the RB's. I think our secondary will be better, but, they cannot do it all. This will take a whole team effort, and a whole team effort to win- not just show up and play. Win or lose, I think Coach Dodge and his staff will have the team ready to play and play to win. I think our defense will be more agressive, will attack more, with no more bend not break approach to defense. Offense-well, I think as the game progresses, the NT offensive coordinators will be able to see opportunities and go after these opportunities, to avoid the sooner strenths, and play to what is available. This is where Coach Dodge comes in-creativity and not afraid to try it! I want this team to beleive in themselves, and gain confidence against one of the top ranked teams in the country-possibly the national champions! North Texas has alot to gain and the sooners alot to lose. Either way-I think this team will give the sooners more than what they think!

OU is loaded agian with NFL type players, in all phases of the game. All 3 WR's return, TE's are huge, RB's-they have at least 4, Murray- is pure speed. OL, are giants, 3 returning starters at 6-6 320-330lbs, plus a jr college transfer, Loadholt at 6-8, 350lbs. Only thing different is Stoops has not named a QB-yet-the QB's they have are not consistant with what the staff wants. So, they need a game they can contol, and work in new players. So, If I were zero u, I would run between the tackles-alot, to ease in the starting QB, and set up the pass. I would try to get Murray matched up on the LB's with quick passes out of the back field. The runs up the gut and short quick passes will help the new QB gain confidence, next try slants and outs to the 3 experienced WR's-very good at YAC. Deep passes-later in the game. Control the ball, tempo, clock and work in the 2 deep chart players as much as possible. This is how I see zero u attacking the North Texas defense.

Add another QB into the mix- Remember that our great center recruit J. J. Johnson, his brother has left the phonies to walk on at North Texas.

At this point in time with the Coach Dodge era, I choose "C". I do beleive this yearly average will increase due to the big blow outs over the phonies, and the muts.

Will the TT-phonies game be on TV?

Maybe the phonies will be looking forward to playing North Texas, and get blown out by Tx Techies. I sure hope so! This will put more pressure on the phonies, short week, heat-only from their fans! Big North Texas win!

Coach Dodge stated "the starting QB will not be looking over his shoulder". Even though Maegar had a good spring, Coach Dodge still declared the QB battle is far from over. I beleive the coaching staff will put all the candidates under more pressure during 2 a days. Some how, one of the candidates must seperate from the others. Looks like a big battle for the QB position is brewing! I beleive Coach Dodge wants Vizza to be far and above the other QB's-if not, Megar will be the guy. If the offense does not go-then Coach Dodge may be forced to play one or the other QB's. The QB battle may be going on into the season. Woody Wilson--is too good to keep off the field- so if he does not become the starting QB, I hope he will be open to play another position like slot WR. Even at Slot-WR, I can see the staff being able to use Woody's skills for other aspects of the offense. Heck, why not punt/kick returning?

For now, Johnny Quinn. I do have a few others that had the "toughness" as Quinn- Andy Blount-- Old time stars--Ron Shanklin, Barry Moore, David Yaege (excellent punter also) I thought Troy Redwine was a very good receiver also.

I chose "B". Zero u will be a top 10 team, even with breaking in a new QB, finding a replacement for Peterson at RB, and revamping their OL. I would like to see a good game, not another 65-0 blow out. Beleive me, zero u will be prepaired for this game, and they are still smarting over the Bosie State loss. I want North Texas to blast the phonies on their home turf. Peroid. For the sooie pigs- this is a maybe game-hard to judge. I think North Texas has a better shot for a win here than at zero-u. Navy- I think North Texas has much better odds here for a win. OOC games, I see 2-2. Conference, all roads go through Troy. This years Troy team is very good. Can North Texas win, yes, but it will be another close game. The muts, are highly over rated and over hyped. Replacing numerious players, QB ahd OL. I see North Texas winning big at home. Can North Texas win the SBC championship, yes. I think North Texas has as much chance as the other projected favorite teams.

I would like for Jackson to make the 1000yd mark-but- with the 4 and 5 receiver sets, the ball will be spread around. I do think Jackson will have some exceptional games this year. I do not want one guy to be the only go to guy on the team. With Fitzgeral, and the new WR recruits up grading the WR talent, I see multiple guys that can be the star of a particular game. Right now, if there is one guy that can make 1000yds, Jackson would be the favorite.

Hey- I watched the video's. All I can say is WOW! Excellent speed and vision- reads the ball. Great open field tackling--solo tackles, runs down ball carrier. Covers WR close with very good reaction--makes difficult interceptions. Handles punt returns, exceptional cuting and acelleration--reads the field. All this guy needs is just a little daylight and he is gone! Video shows him blockig FG and a punt. Very athletic player--has the "football" speed after burners! This guy is GOOD!

I just checked the muts board-they moved or killed the Wade Phillips post. I have to admit-the muts are funny!

I have not been a pest to the muts regarding Coach Dodge- All that I did was post a short note regarding Dallas Cowboys HFC Wade Phillips visiting Coach Dodge- boy- did that ever start a pissing contest-- I had more crap insults thrown my way-I gave back my rebuttles- I have not even checked thier board this morning so all of this is news to me- This is another way the muts will try to poke a stick in our eyes.

What would happen to Stoops? Nothing. I am sure he would catch heat from all the big $$$ supporters, but, that would be it. Media, mainly "How in the hell did this happen?" stories. Explainations-trick plays, fluke win, lucky SOB's, and NT got all the breaks. It still comes down to this- there are 11 guys on each side of the field. Strange things have always happened in college ball and pro ball. I beleive NT will do better in this game than the Texas performance last year. Texas blitzed 2 CB's and different combinations of blitz packages with the LB's on every play last year. The DD offense got creamed. Oklahoma-well, maybe-just maybe- there will be a way to avoid the OU d-rush and produce positive plays. Coach Dodge said if a opponet does this, we will do that. The real battle will be the NT O-line and D-line play. Can our guys give protection to our QB? Can our D-line get to the OU QB to disrupte their offense? Looks like we will just have to wait and see.

Does this mean we can visit the phonies board and give back some of their high and mighty we are better than you crap?
