  1. Great! My wife & I will be there. Will there be beer? If not, can we bring beer?
  2. I go with the theory that Dodge was given another year because the student fee wouldn't kick in until the stadium was finished, and we needed the extra funding to increase coach salaries to attract better candidates - not just the head coach, but also the assistant coaches. And - while the jury is still out on Dan Mac, would he have considered any HC gig a year earlier?
  3. Nowhere as bad as losing 54-2 to Tulsa at home or 77-20 to Rice.
  4. I really don't expect Texadelphia (or anywhere else) to have the capacity to watch a game on espn3.com. Better crank up your computer and test out watching a game before gametime.
  5. They way I heard it, is that Blakely didn't think Spud was ready for Div I, and had him go JUCO, intending to bring him in as a Junior. But then Valvano noticed him, and he decided to go to NC State (not surprisingly). Looking at Spud's wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spud_Webb (yeah, I know, but I'm just looking for the factual info), he was at Midland College for 81-82, and NC State for 83-85. Then according to the NT Basketball page http://en.wikipedia....39;s_basketball, Blakeley was gone at the end of 82-83, and Newman started in the fall of 83. So it could be true that Newman turned him away. But if it's true that Blakeley sent him to Midland, then that was also a mistake. I do remember hearing about Spud possibly coming to NT well before 1983.
  6. Ow, that's so bad it's good. I don't know if I should give you a +1 or -1!
  7. Dickey once interviewed for the Idaho job - maybe he's still interested.
  8. I'd vote for Beth Marie's. Things we need: - Sonic needs to have tots - a smaller size of kettle corn - add another Kolache Haven on the Alumni side - Someone mentioned they missed the Fouts Corny Dogs
  9. I disagree - I was wondering if they turned the lights up "to 11" - it seemed brighter than past games.
  10. True! Or Horns, or Aggies, or Owls... or Texans.
  11. Probably not - MW is headquartered in Houston.
  12. Brett Baer Brett Baier OK, so they don't quite look alike...
  13. BTW, The "I'll be there's" were recorded at the Friday night pep rally in Houston - I recognized the tent. They must have done it before the event really started (and before I got there). Notice Rob McKinney (Alumni Association), Nick Williams (Green Brigade director), and DFW alums who were staying at the team hotel.
  14. Good work! That was a great place 15+ years ago when I lived in Austin - amazed that it has lasted this long!
  15. Oh, just in the past few years. The ones north of Fairfield just opened last year. The best one is the one between Madisonville & Huntsville on the southbound side, which has the pond. The interactive education leaves a bit to be desired - usually the screen is displaying a boot-up error!
  16. The game showed up on DISH in Houston last night on one of the alternate channels, but it's gone now. Of course, I'm going to be there, but I was hoping to record it...
  17. A traffic warning for tomorrow - I heard on the news heading to the pep rally that the Houston Dynamo have a home game tomorrow at 7: 30pm. The soccer stadium is just off of US 59 downtown, more or less across from Minute Maid Park, and not far from where 59 crosses I-45. It shouldn't be a problem before the game, especially if you come early to tailgate, but depending on how long soccer games last, both games could end around the same time.
