Maybe Jethro and his cousin will have a different opinion of our facilities after they park their short bus in the Fouts lot, walk the new pedestrian bridge to Apogee, take their seat in the visitors section (with a nice panoramic view of the alumni section and the press box), enjoy some well prepared stadium concessions, and witness the near biblical destruction of their beloved Golden Eagles at the hands of Coach Mac's Mean Green. I guess they can drive by Jerry World on their way back to Hooterville, and question whether it's even capable of hosting NFL games.

While I agree TD was the worst head coach this program has ever endured, I just can't go along with those who continue to demonize him. Here's my take... TD was not an Agent of Satan sent to Denton to further crush and humiliate an already floundering, underfunded football program. He was quite simply WAY WAY over his head, thoroughly ill equipped to staff and coach a Division I college football program. His arrogance clouded his better judgement when it came to staffing all the way down to game day decisions, and yes, he left the cupboard bare for Chico and Coach Mac. In the credit where credit is due department, at least he didn't dress his players in black and give the school, its students, alumni, and boosters the middle finger on his way out the door. Now, can we finally....FINALLY shovel dirt on this failed era and fill Apogee every game day? Let's help make the Coach Mac era the new "golden days" of UNT football.

We've used some form of eagle artwork on the helmet off and on for the past 30 + years. Let's stop the rebranding madness, put the SOW (or more accurately, great great great grandson of SOW) on the helmet on the helmet and go win some CUSA championships.

In that case, I'm hoping to hear his next pronouncement: "No way, not ever, never will North Texas ever gain entry into the Big 12".

I don't mean to throw cold water on the celebration here, but there are some issues that need addressing... 1. What shade of green are they wearing? Kelly green? Toothpaste green? Forest green? 2. What logo is on the batting helmets? SOW? Alumni logo? 3. Stickers???? 4. Are there transfers from other teams on the roster? What does the Bleacher Report have to say about them? 5. Is the Big East looking to add them? 6. Are there any sneaky SMUt boosters looking to keep them out of the tournament? OK, enough jackassery here... Congrats to the Mean Green!!!!!! Great job girls!!!

I agree up to a point, but my thought on this is, filling their stands with green and outnumbering the pink polo wearers in their own house sends many more positive messages than simply ignoring them. First, we get a well deserved reputation for travelling well. Second, we get the pure pleasure of outshouting them in Ford Stadium AND beating the ears off of June's little Ponies on the field. The SMUt faithful that delights in looking down their collective noses at us, and have done their best in keeping our program out of better conference affiliations in the past, need a vocal reminder who the new bully on the block is, and how they need to get used to looking up at us in terms of athletic superiority.

Helmet designs, uniforms, helmet stickers, stadium expansion, windmills, quitters... I mean, with these important topics left unsolved, football season will be here before you know it.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the idea that we will be in a conference where we don't HAVE to win the conference tournament to get the auto bid (and a 15 seed) Multi bid conference, here we come!!!!!

Yes....North Texas is the new Memphis! A nice, long run in the tournament will solidify that distinction.

Don't lose touch with us. You have always been a class act and a great Raider fan. Very few schools are as well represented as MTSU is by you. Like others before have said, hopefully in the ever changing landscape of college athletics, your leadership will position MT for a move up to CUSA and our solid rivalry can continue.
