  1. I would probably switch La Tech and Tulsa with Rice and Houston. It would make more sense to have all the Texas teams in the same division to play up some rivalry.
  2. Not to mention that ND has their own broadcast network...NBC. They aren't giving up a deal that has them constantly nationally broadcast for an occasional regional broadcast. ND shouldn't even be entered in the conversation, even though that is who the Big 10 really wants.
  3. I wouldn't count on Nebraska ever leaving the Big XII. Besides the fact that they have been in that conference for a LONG time, they aren't going to leave a conference where they play all their big rivals every year. Why give up a yearly heated rivalry with Colorado, KSU, and Missouri? They are far too established to leave where they are. I doubt that any Big XII (that the Big 10 wants) team is real interested in leaving. Iowa State may be interested, but I don't think the (increasingly inaccurately named) Big 10 is.
  4. Well, we know that they are looking at us now. Much better than in past years. Maybe they are a little nervous after getting beat by BSU.
  5. If you look, this is the top teams of the past decade. They are not looking at the upcoming season. So, from that perspective, we shouldn't be as bad off as other SBC teams considering the 4 years of success (although our overall record through this period isn't that great).
  6. Knowing EA, Meager will be the starter. they always go with the guy leading after spring. Most likely, he will also have considerably better stats than everyone else, but that is just speculation.
  7. Wow, are they really looking forward to McNeese State more than any other home game this season? That is really sad. They are more excited about a 1AA team than any other game (according to this poll).
  8. I was listening to KSCS this morning, and they were broadcasting from the speedway. Steve Austin was a guest on the show and made mention of his time at North Texas. He still called it North Texas State, but mentioned that the school is now UNT. Good press either way.
  9. I find this to be very interesting. In the past versions for the original XBox and PS2, they had a reasonable depiction of Fouts. It was close, but not too close. Looks like EA got lazy for this one. They kinda phoned in the 07 versions of Madden and NCAA. I would hope that this will be fixed for the next version. The next step would be to get our fight song in there.
  10. Name: forevereagle Age: 25 Shirt Size: L Height: 6'2" Looking forward to my second GMG Bowl. Last year, on the Green (winning) team, I caught three passes, one for a TD. Hoping that Emmitt doesn't draft me, cause I want to WIN!!
  11. If I were a talented QB, I wouldn't look twice at TT. They have a great college system that makes their QBs look amazing and put up numbers that are just ridiculous, but they don't ever end up doing anything at the next level. (not that NT has a great QB history)
  12. I am picking the Colts in this one. Rex Grossman may be the worst starting QB to take a team to the SB. That is high praise considering that Trent Dilfer accomplished the task. If Peyton's thumb is ready to go, then I don't see the Bears having a chance. Plus, the Colts have been trying to get here for too long to let it slip. The Bears D has been less than stellar lately, and without a weather advantage, they will struggle. Tell St. Louis about how dome teams don't win Super Bowls, they would like to know about that one.
  13. I am going to call the upset as well, and go for Florida. I think with all the extra time, UM may have time to game plan and win. But I guess we will wait and see.
  14. What is this, BCS Six Degrees of top 25? We are missing the mark, I don't think we can qualify unless we can do it in six degrees or less.
  15. Congrats! Definately a keeper. I don't want to brag, but I'm going to anyways. My wife is a HUGE MG (and sports in general) fan. Not only does she like football, but she is actually more active on this board than I am (not that its a challenge). We are season ticket holders, and we tailgate before every game. Hopefully your wife will want to do the same.
  16. The whining about the trick play is a bit annoying. OU runs them the same as anyone else, especially when they think that they are outclassed. I remeber a few years back (2001 I think), OU vs Nebraska. Nebraska was favored to win and had the clearly better team. When OU thought they had an opportunity, they tried a pick that they tried to complete back to the quaterback. I can't remember which Hy-player it was, but he couldn't make the catch. Later in the game, Nebraska ran the same play back at them and Crouch was the better athlete. Seems like they just forget when they are running these kind of plays. Not buying the hype that the game was one of the great ones because your team lost is just a bad attitude. Sorry guys, but you don't get to win them all. Besides, if you don't like losing, maybe you should stop playing in BCS bowls, they don't seem to treat you well, and none of them have been classics.
  17. I think that we can probably rest easy. I don't think that RV is going to be encouraging joining the WAC. The conference is not cost effective. I don't even see too many programs that are in that part of the country being excited about the conference. Hawaii makes it a tough money conference. Not too many programs can afford to make the routine trip out there. If it wasn't for them, there could actually be interest from other programs, just not us.
  18. I don't know if BSU going to the MWC will affect us as much as we would like. Would the WAC look for another team in our geography? There don't seem to be a lot of teams in CUSA that would likely jump to the WAC. Doesn't really seem like a big upgrade for the costs associated with the move. As I recall, NT was mentioned in the last set of conference moves as a WAC candidate and we opted out, if I am not mistaken. I think a conference move that would be more likely to shake things up for us would be the PAC-10 knocking on BSUs door and another team in the WAC or MWC. They may be looking to become a 12 team conference with a championship game. Then there could be a void that may cause enough shake up for us to move on. One team moving probably won't let us see any movement, especially in that area of the country.
  19. The coach that year was Urban Meyer, now the head coach at Florida. Utah was the real deal that year, and the game against Pitt was an absolute blowout. Even though Florida is the underdog, don't count Meyer out.
  20. This decision is not final just like the commit to Baylor wasn't. He could still go back to Baylor or even somewhere else. I wouldn't count a chicken until its hatched on Feb. 7.
  21. I am a sales support executive for a market research firm.
