  1. It will be hard to even up our schedule as long at the OUs, LSUs, and Floridas of the world are playing 7-8 home games a year. There are only so many ways to even up when there are teams unbalancing the schedule. The only away games some of these teams play are the ones set by their conference. If the NCAA wants to help add a little more parity, then they should mandate a 6 home, 6 away schedule. But that will not be happening any time soon (see $$$).
  2. I have sat in the visiting seats at Memorial stadium, and they are pretty bad. The seats were made of wood and you didn't have a great view of the field. As was pointed out earlier in the thread, the seats being moved are for the late registering upper classmen and under classmen. These are people who didn't get the order in fast enough. They are lucky to get any seats at all. There is another student section that is a better grouping of seats.
  3. Then who gets the worst seats in the house? Someone has to sit there. In reality, it will be the students every time. It may not be fair, but that is the way it works.
  4. As well as curious in towners who can't make it.
  5. What's your point? Yes the students are paying for their seats, but why not reward the people who have been supporting the program for many years? Students, while they do support the university, are more of a short-term fan than people who are buying season tickets. Given how difficult it is for anyone to get tickets, most of these people have probably suported the university for many, many years. If the students really want to attend the game, then they will sit wherever they can. As for the random fans, aren't we always asking for more support from the city of Denton? These people are just doing what we have always asked from our local residents. If they can afford the tickets and the likely donation that usually comes along with high demand tickets, then who cares whether they have a degree from the school? We should be lucky enough to have this problem.
  6. forevereagle Shirt Size: Large Player Bio: Played in the last two GMG Bowls, 2-0 record. WR-DB. At 6-2, with passable speed, I can cover anyone who isn't 4 inches taller than I am fairly effectively. Especially if face guarding is legal (has been in the past). Positives: Can throw the ball when needed, cuts well, with decent hands. Negatives: Not a good vertical (I'm white, it can't be helped). Draft Prediction: Hopefully not last.
  7. How is this an ethically-challenged decision? They are letting the people who pay more to sit have better seats. Students don't get the best seats, that's just a fact of life. I think they were doing pretty well to keep them as long as they did. And if you have ever been to a Nebraska game, then you would know, everyone there is school affliated, even if they didn't attend the school. Memorial Stadium is the third largest city in the state during a game and solid red.
  8. I think i am going to agree with Screaming Eagle, there are only so many numbers that can be worn. The team has not retired it, so Bruce hasn't done anything wrong. He isn't some upstart rookie, so he has earned the right. Plus, it's not like Rice played his whole career with SF. He moved on, and so should the team.
  9. Pro style (in my little corner of reality) would be a mix of 2 TE, 3&4 wideouts, 2 back sets, single-back sets, under center, and shotgun. A very complex and mixed offense that uses the run to set up the pass. The spread is primarily out of the shotgun with 3-4 WRs and tends to be more pass oriented.
  10. But they didn't run a spread. They have always run a pro-style offense under Stoops.
  11. Andy Blount ran all over the white team. He was everywhere. You could tell a major difference between average Joe and scholarship athlete. Nobody really got close enough to even pull his flag. It didn't matter if he caught a short pass or a deep throw, there was no stopping him. I didn't mind too much, Green Team would have won anyways. Poor Emmitt just can't win.
  12. I don't see Dodge at OU unless Stoops is no longer there. I don't think that he wants a spread offense in Norman. Also, I don't see Dodge as anything less than a HC.
  13. Perhaps a deal is in the works then. Last year may have been a trial run to see how it would go, and maybe we will hear something soon. Anyone else up for the optimistic outlook?
  14. Also, a strong LB core will help keep them propped up until we get more depth at this position. Let's hope that Deloach, as the LB coach, can help the situation here.
  15. Guys, let out your true feeling. We're all friends, if you don't like her, just say so. Holding back is just not healthy or consructive.
  16. Didn't FSU and Miami have to make room for OU? I wasn't aware that FSU had been allowed out of the corner.
  17. I would also like to point out that they are using our most current logo.
  18. I don't know about all of you, but I would do a lot of rearranging for $100k. But that's just me. I am behind playing KSU to open. At least we have a chance at them. They have been pretty mediocre lately, and, depending on how well the coaching staff can do in the off season, this may be a competitive game.
  19. Doesn't this just make you want to go out and buy some tickets for those end zone seats! Very comforting.
  20. So they can have more empty seats at home games and the bowl game?
  21. I don't think that they black out all games that aren't sell outs. I know that is a deal that the Raiders have, but I don't think that applies to all the teams. Could be wrong, though...
