  1. Not so sure that Chico is bitter as maybe some of the players might be. Who really knows? However, those last five games last year with all the injuries were a reason for hope this year. No doubt, something is diffrent.
  2. No! It is an insult to "all" the players, the students and the alumni and all fans. Even more so to those who took the time to have the car seviced, made hotel reservations, got cash from the bank, bought tickets and took the time to travel to Tulsa all in the belief that we would try to win. Actions speak louder than words.
  3. Second half? Why not towards the end of the first quarter? If you were really trying to win the game and had BCS coaching experience why would you not try the QB who has already proven himself when it comes to game time? What is it that I fail to see? This isn't soccer! You can always put Macnulty back in. Right?
  4. You realize what your saying by making that statement, don't you?
  5. Our alleged second team QB should have been given an opportunity to show what he has got, but we still don't really know how good he is because he has barely been allowed to play. Yes we have. Did you already forget? He lead the team down the field against Alabama, one of the best defenses in the nation, in front of 102,000 home fans and put the team in scoring position only to be pulled in favor of Mcnulty. We got Zero points. Something here just doesn't make sense.
  6. The other thing to think about is if the Belt adds UTSA and LaTech and the WAC folds eliminating many current FBS teams it might give the Sun Belt a better chance of being included as a AQ conference when the shake up happens.
  7. I agree with you 100%. Isn't it amazing how UNT grads belittle UTSA? Lets see, we play a Big Ten team at home and draw a whopping 21,000. UTSA plays Bacone and draws over 30,000. Go figure.
  8. I agree. Osborn looked comfortable and confident. He reminded me of Scott Hall in many ways. He should be the started and should have replaced Thompson in the second quarter. imop
  9. Well then that makes you the fool. It's really simple. Don't read my post. I can and will post whenever I want. Clear?
  10. Couldn't even keep it close. This is going to be a very long year.
  11. You tell me that is the most creative we can be on offense? Sure they are good. But give me a break. We don't suck that bad and FIU aint that great. This is just poor offensive coaching, PERIOD!
  12. Think it might be bad weather?
  13. Matthew 24:7 "Nation will turn against nation and kingdom against kingdom, there will be famine and pestilence and earthquakes in Virginia." I think thats how it goes.
  14. It's time for all of us not only to learn the words to our Alma Mater and Fight Song but to encourage others to learn them as well. It should be mandatory that everyone be in their seats before our team comes on the field. When the band starts the fight song and 20,000 + people are singing the words together in the stadium it will sends chills down the opponents backs. That would be the only time that everyone needed to sing the fight song together. You can if you want and it will always sound great in that stadium no matter how many are singing but the song is played to many times during the game, and thats ok! It would be awesome!!!!! Maybe only a few sing for the first time but much like the TCU chant some guy started during that game, this thing would mushroom fast. The other one is the Alma Mater. We need to play it and people need to learn the words and sing it. It is one if not the most beautiful Alma Maters in all of college football. Play 15 minutes before the game or better yet start it immediately after the game. Win Or Lose, joy or tears. It wont take long for more to join it. When the other team walks off the field to their locker room they will be moved whether they won or lost. As always..........imop
  15. Hear me out. Read it and then let it sink in for a while before you turn all negative. We have a new stadium. Yeah, I know you know. But not all of you truely know whats in store for you. This is truely a professional stadium. You will freak out when you hear the acoustics in this place. As many of you well know now for 50 years the student's and the alumni sides have been seperated by a very wide divide. Fouts Field. Not any more! So, here is what i humbly suggest. When the student side starts the NORTH...............and the Alumni side yells back TEXAS.................then we "all" at the same time together AS ONE yell....FIGHT..............NORTH(students).... TEXAS(alumni) then all together........FIGHT! Thats what's missing with that chant. A sense of unity. We have always been too far apart. Hit them with both sides at the same time. IMOP
  16. With that being said, it is in our best interest for the University and it's Athletic programs, that we do everything humanly possible to insure inclusion in the top tier. If we are excluded then we regroup and start a new league, new conferences based on economics and proximity of members thereby creating rivalries and the opportunity for fans to drive to away games. It will fill stadiums and create revenue. Put "The League" office in Dallas. Each conference member can play only one BCS team per year, if at all, for a price of 2.5 million. The school gets to keep 1.5 million and the rest goes to the League office for radio, TV and other promotional media for the new league. We establish a Chamionship game. Each school must sign a contract with the league that says if certain criterion are not met then they can be eliminated from the league and the conferences are consolidated further using the method before as best possible. Done right, and the two leagues will one day play for the Real Championship.
  17. More shock and awe. What a day!!! I see a time when all the little kids across the nation playing football in their front yards will want to be the Mean Green!! Go Mean Green!!!
  18. Have to agree. We are sitting pretty nice in comparison. Not bad for a low rated Sun Belt team. Its speaks loud and clear. Great job by our leaders!
  19. This is just another incredible piece of information for a football program that not long ago was dying on the branch. My only concern is the opening bid of 10 million for 20 years set by Premier Partnerships. I hope our reprensentives negociated a better deal but if not at least one that leaves room for re-negociating the contract at certain intervals based on attendance, population growth and conference affliation. Regardless, what a tremendous job by our people. It does just keep getting better and we are only at the tip of the iceburg. Go Mean Green!!!
  20. Sorry if someone else already mentioned this. One of the first things we did Saturday night was climb Mount V. WOW! Not good if you have vertigo and weak heart. Then we went down and checked the endzone seats. Man, what a view. Those are not bad seats at all. Then we checked out the student side and this is what impressed me the most. You could clearly hear the people talking and laughing over on the Press Box side. I could not believe it. I felt like I was is in a professional stadium. There were only about a thousand people over there and yet the nose coming across the field was incredible and they were just talking. I cannot imagine what it will sound like with 30,000 yelling and cheering. The sound is going to be like something we have never heard before at a UNT home football game. We will now have home field advantage.
  21. Please get this off our board, please.
  22. Yeah, I don't see Mac leaving anytime soon. I think he places more emphasis on character than on money. After unpacking his suitcase and making all the "why not North Texas" speaches he would never be able to look himself in the mirror again. I think it's more about integrity than money with Mac. Afterall, if you can't live well on 4 to 500,000 thousand a year, well then, you have bigger issues in life.
  23. Sorry this is late. Happy Birthday!! Thank you for making sure the flame never went out!
