  1. Are you saying the signal strength gets worse at night up around Decater and Denton or more the outlying areas? Right now the quality isn't quite as good as 100.7 in Plano under these weather conditions. It's doable.
  2. Just turned on 95.3. Reception isn't too bad in Plano. Maybe they purchased better equipment. I think this was one smart marketing move by our AD.
  3. I wasn't trying to suggest I thought it was a bad move. In fact, I think it is a great move. Can you amagine all those Decater folks, Gainsville folks and others listening to their country when all a sudden UNT Football comes on. If they listen for just 10 minutes they will be hooked and its those people who are more likely to buy tickets and come to the games.
  4. Agree. If and when I wanted to listen to country I would listen to 95.3 over the other country stations. They played a lot of original music as well as some of all the other country styles out there. You just had to pick the time of day. However, the signal strength became so bad I quit listening some time ago. Either 95.3 has approval to increase their signal strength or someone is pulling our legs. I live in Plano. I would very much like to know the truth. Are we leaving the Dallas Market and concentrating on more of the country communities around Denton and if so why? And Harry, I know and agree with you about the Christian vs Country music and the type and size of their respective markets as far as listeners go but it does sound kinda bad anyway. LOL
  5. Feeling a lot better. If Tony stays regardless of who is hired to replace JJ then more than likely the rest of the players will stay as well. In that case I am all for going out and getting a proven Head Coach. Maybe Jones explained to the team what they had going for them and not to blow it.
  6. Please no one from UT. Helwig, Trilli and Dodge damn near distroyed our program.
  7. Thank you Coach Jones. You are a class act and will be greatly missed! Haven't felt this low since Fry left for Iowa. I wish you only the best at LSU.
  8. I guess one could in some twisted way look at it as being courageous.
  9. Be careful. No one ever used the word hate. Don't you. However, is the Mean Green room opened during the men's game? I honestly don't know.
  10. Hey, aren't you the one that had the audacity to schedule an alumni event at the same time Aston's team was playing? That pretty much negates anything you ever have to say.
  11. For the first time in the history of UNT basketball we have the legit talent to make it to the sweet 16 if not further. You DON'T mess with that!! PERIOD!! If RV was to do the right thing he would have sat down and interviewed the players for their thoughts and feelings about losing JJ and who they would like as their next coach. Forrest never should have had a reason to visit KState. Even Trilli could coach this team to the sweet 16 or better. This program was on the verge of becoming one of the elite programs in the nation for years to come. And yes, RV can be fired and should be fired if he cannot recognize what is right in front of him.
  12. Yup! This very well could implode and if it does I will be at the front of the line demanding RV be fired!! If JJ goes you give the job to Forrest and concentrate on finding a quality coach for the women. However, the damage is already done.
  13. It's irrlevant who, what or how Tony Mithcell ended up at UNT at this time. As of Monday morning we faced the prospect of losing both Tony and Coach Jones. Tony decided to stay. Coach Jones has not yet made a public statement whether he is staying or going. I simply voiced an opinion that should we lose one of the two that I prefer it be Jones. Didn't imply I hoped Jones would leave only that I believe Tony is more vital to this program "at this time" even if it is only for one more year. Jones can be replaced. Mitchell can not.
  14. Lets hope Mitchell learns "everything" she can from Aston and then one day comes home.
  15. Tony in a heartbeat. I would miss JJ but he can be replaced. But Tony? No way!
  16. I won't believe we are in the alliance until it is officially announced. Should we be left behind again and stuck in the Sun Belt it will be painful, no doubt. But one must feel for all the loyal fans at Idaho who love their school as much as we love UNT. http://magicvalley.com/sports/college/column-tough-call-awaits-u-of-i-athletics-future/article_0bcee4ee-7892-11e1-b01c-001871e3ce6c.html
  17. A massive season next year and he will have his dream job at UNT, have a tremendous recruiting class the next year, be close to home, let his kids keep their established friendships, less pressure, increase in pay because of increase in attendance and be a legend instead of following in someone else's footsteps. Easy decision, especially when one considers whats going on in the world and that he may not have enough time to rebuild LSU. Why throw 10 years away? Nobrainer.
  18. Yeah, I have a very uneasy feeling about this news. I could see the Alliance taking both UNT and UTSA in order to capture the Dallas, Houston and San Antonio markets but if it happens that UTSA is chosen in lieu of UNT, I think North Texas would be all but finished in the state of Texas as far as perception goes. IMHO
  19. Does anyone know for sure whether Aston contacted UNT about the job vacancy after Stevens was fired or did our Athletic Department contact her first? Just curious.
  20. She's as good as gone. However, if would be nice if for once a coach would put the kids they recruited over the money. LOL
  21. Just five home games and not a very attractive home schedule seems like such a waste of a beautiful facility like Apogee. Just my thought.
