  1. WOW! This is just terrible. Unbelievable. Does anyone remember the picture of Darrel Dickey standing outside the tunnel with his arms crossed, looking off into the sky, a defiant look on his face surrounded by white smoke and the players all dressed in black? They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
  2. I don't care if Dodge is fired or not. I was 100% for his hiring. Yes, I did question why he was retained for another year but said I would honor RV's decision. Still do. I would love nothing more than to see him succeed here at UNT. Last Saurday night we had a bad game. We made too many mistakes but so did Rice.I knew this would be a very tough, physical game and unkike others did not see this as cake walk. But the bottom line is, we were winning this game dispite the mistakes and poor play. We weren't being blown out. When our offense took the field, the ball on our on two yard line, 98 yards of open green, nursing a small lead with time running out our kids where totally unprepared for that scenario. They and the coaching staff were completely and totally lost. We should have practiced that same scenario at least 50 times in Spring and Fall ball against our defense and any formation they could have thrown at us. Thats called coaching Yes, I understand the fear of being called for holding in the endzone on a pass play, but the coaches should have drilled all players to the point that they knew and understood the consequences. When our offense ran onto the field they were already defeated. The coaching staff lacked the confidence in our players, the players lacked the confidence in themselves and all because the the coaches had failed to prepare them for just this exact possiblity. Thats when and how we lost the game. Is that Dodge's fault? The offensive coordinator's fault? The kids fault?
  3. Primo.....I am not angry. This is all old news. Although it is possible that RV had to stare down a lot of people all night long I am probably safe in saying that AE was referring to me. If so, he didn't have his facts right. The game was over, it wasn't in the 4th quarter and there were no "bad" things being said about the coaches. It's important that one doesn't inject false or misleading information. Carry on!
  4. Give it a rest. Every thing that could have been said has already been said. So what, do you need some attention ArkansasEagle? Ok. BOO! And furthermore, if it is me that you are referring to, the game was over and there was not any "bad" things being said. Just the facts, Jack. And Plumm, aren't your words of wisdom better spent elsewhere. I mean really. You're bigger than this. And Quoner, thanks for directing this fine gentleman to the appropriate thread. It's over, people....move on!
  5. Hey, from what I can understand, Coach Dodge bought chess sets for his entire coaching staff and right now as I speak they are having a chess tournament to see who can best utilize the pieces on the board. Look out Army! WE WIN! Go Mean Green
  6. Didn't I see you kissing Nancy Pelosi Saturday night?
  7. I understand. But really you just need to read the thread. I personaly think we are all tired and burnt out.
  8. Guess I could. Do you think it might have any effect for those who are just stopping by?
  9. So what you're saying is that you would have called security and had them remove me from the stadium even though the game was over and we were all on our way out. Ok, I can dig that. Makes sense to me. Acting like an adult. Define that please. But please no political correctness.
  10. Please understand that I am not anti-Dodge. I would love nothing more than to witness Coach Dodge become our Joe Paterno. I want him to succeed at UNT! My complaint wasn't against Coach Dodge last Saturday night. It was meant to be directed towards the offensive coordinator. Our guys should have been so well rehersed when they ran onto the field facing 1st and 10 from their own 2 yard line, late in the game and nursing a lead, albeit small, that they should have had a grin on their faces. We had 98 yards of open green and choose to run the ball, what 3 times. We didn't try to win. We tried not to lose and we lost! We were not well coached in situational probabilities. Bad coaching from Mr.C. He failed to prepare our kids for this scenario. This is when the game was lost. It wasn't Coach Dodge's fault.
  11. Hey Quoner, just got off the phone with Eagle Man. He asked me to tell you hello.
  12. Thank you EagleGreen. If it cost me my dignity, if it cost me my pride, if it cost me my standing with those in power than so be it. I yelled as loud as I could because I wanted everyone to hear! Not for me. But for UNT! For the players, the students and alumni. I gave it everything I could last Saturday night. And yes, I understand the consequences. I may be old but time is running out for all of us. We need to play today as if there is no tomorrow. And that means the coaches need to communicate, eye to eye with each and every individual that wears the green and white. If its not important, if it really means nothing, then what the hell are we all doing?
  13. Please understand this is a honest question. How many times did you practice in Spring Ball and Fall drills a scenario were the offense must take possesion of the football on their own one or two yard line nursing a small lead or needing a score to win the game with time runnig out? Our kids should have been so well rehersed that they had to turn their faces away from the defense as they ran unto the field in order to conceal the grin on their faces. Thats how you coach a football team! Coaches, you lost the game right there! You failed to prepare those kids for that particular scenario. It did not matter how many penalties, fumbles or intercepions we had at that point. Rice made mistakes as well! We had the lead! Coaches, you didn't do what you are paid to do, PERIOD! You lost the game for these kids, the students and the alumni!
  14. OH, ok. Sorry, my bad. Ha ha ha.
  15. Of course we all want to win, even Dodge. My goodness, even the stock broker wants to win. The lawyer, the Dentist, the Politician and on and on. Doesn't mean they will. Doesn't mean they don't have the desire to win. They may not have the ability or talent to win!
  16. Thank you for your inspiration. I was getting a little worried about you, Harry.
  17. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! We could have TD back next year and still not be sbc champs! Would that make you sleep better at night?
  18. Look, I know what I am about to say is wrong. Call it the Obama thing. Shut up!
  19. Yeah, but try to convince those that lack knowledge and wisdom to discern the truth. For goodness sake people, we are talking three years of coaching and teaching and it has produced what, 3 wins? Lets, blame it on the kids!!! RIGHT!! How would you like to make over $250,000 a year at your job and not have to produce any results in a time when people are losing their jobs and houses? Don't dare blame this on the kids. This is all on the coaches. They lack the communication skills, and the knowledge to teach and guide these kids. If we were talking just one year, ok. But after three years and one more Fall camp don't let yourselves be deceived.
