  1. Agreed. Also...When did this board become the NT cheerleaders? Any legitimate concern that is brought up on the board is immediately met with name calling, or accusing the poster of being a disgruntled former coach/player parent/DD lover ect.? Since when did asking questions about teams performance become taboo here? This board is meant for football discussion. Not to act as a portal to attract recruits and cheer lead for the team exclusively. You can bring up positive and negative things about the team and program in general. There is nothing wrong with that.
  2. I meant it like FFR has been suggesting. Like someone starts a OOOOOHHHHHHH to get everyones attention first...then you start the chant. Reading that now, I can see how that would be confusing. I love the internetz!
  3. Makes me sooooooo HAPPY!!! I wish there was a smiley that shed's a tear, cause I would use that right now. I'll use that one instead.
  4. I'm gonna find you next game...and we can start this chant.
  5. What about something simple like: AAAAGGGGHHHHHAHH! (spell/chant) M-E-A-N....(everyone yell together)MEAN GREEN! Then repeat this as necessary.
  6. True. We are not the doormat that teams from the power conferences want to see anymore. With the showing against Memphis as well as last night against OSU, Mean Green basketball is now showing that we can compete with anyone. Lets keep this train rolling with a big W against Indiana St.!
  7. He's also my new favorite NT player. I'm also a big fan of Wooden.
  8. White hitting those free throws down the stretch is exactly what I've been wanting to see out of a Mean Green PG for years. I have total confidence that if we put the ball in his hands coming down the stretch that he will sink em' from the line. I'm so impressed with this guy. We are gonna win a ton of games with this guy leading our team. Also, major props to Wooden. He had a monster game as well. I was hoping that he would continue to build off of his SBC tourney and Memphis performances. It looks like we will be getting major production from him this year.
  9. Good. We owe em' some payback from their last trip here.
  10. I kinda like our chances at home. JJ's team will be looking for one of the biggest wins at the Pit during his tenure. I expect a great effort from our guys.
  11. To be honest...that is exactly what I want out of my point guard. The "home run" passes are overrated, and often times lead to very untimely turnovers. I like what I've seen out of Josh so far this year. He's definitely a keeper. Imagine having this guy for 4 years. Man that is refreshing to say.
  12. Reading the Navy board...the exact same thing that all Mean Green fans are thinking. That the defense is unacceptable at the D1 level. We need to do something to fix it.
  13. Now thats a fired up post! Glad I could contribute to you letting that out Emmitt. I don't think that basketball attendance is good (for the record). I worked over there for a number of years. I'm just offering perspective on when attendance traditionally picks up. And Emmitt, you've followed NT hoop long enough to know that a couple of thousand people showing for a game while football season is still going (even a crappy season) is a pretty respectable number early in the year. With the Navy crowd having free access to the game, it is disappointing that more people didn't show up and take advantage of that, but I've sat though so many games over the years with 300-800 in attendance early in the year, it would make you sick. It's just what I've come to expect...and that's not a good thing.
  14. You may be right. It could be like the Indiana game. That game, however, brought out the best in the Mean Green fans in attendance. They were truly "into the game" that night. As into a game as I've ever seen in the pit. It truly became a "Battle of Spirit" between the Indiana fans and the NT fans. I can say confidently that even though we lost that game, we came together as fans, and gave the BB team the proper support that night. I was actually proud of the NT fans that night.
  15. Yep. The stuff about DD causing all of our woes this year because "recruiting tanked" after the Memphis bowl game, and how his "culture of losing" has so infiltrated our upperclassman's minds has got to stop. Seriously. We all look so ridiculous pointing this crap out. As you stated Emmitt, last year, we were all saying that "the talent is there"...we just need a real coaching staff that can get the best out of these guys. We have not seen that this year out of the defense or the special teams. DD never put a defense on the field that got dominated game in and game out like this one has. DD never put out special teams units that get multiple punts blocked in a game. Please stop with the "DD monster" nonsense. He gave us several successful years of NT football. Lets thank him and move on. On another note, the game on Saturday was awesome. Flyover was great. Navy fans turned out in numbers and were a lot of fun. Crowd was awesome, and the game itself was a "once in a lifetime" spectacle. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point.
  16. Team looks promising this year. The crowd is a bit disappointing...but considering how bad turnouts are typically at this time of the year, I'm not too pissed. It will get better (specifically after Christmas break) especially if they keep winning. I'd like for attendance to pick up earlier in the season, but that's how it's been in the 10 years that I've been following NT athletics. There will be a good crowd for the OSU game.
  17. Good post Rick. We know what these guys are capable of. Because of scheme, we are not getting to see that on the field, and that is truly a shame. There is no DD monster that didn't leave any talent on the defensive side of the ball. There is talent there. It's just not being used effectively.
  18. I don't even like being teased with the thought of this. That would be perfect.
  19. Yep, special teams had another rough night in kick coverage. Not that that's anything new this year.
  20. Thank you for putting the frustration into words. I didn't feel like typing out a long post breaking down all of the issues. Well put Silver.
  21. Now that truly is something to be happy about. Keep that up guys!
  22. What an ass whip that was. Took the wind out of our sails for sure.
