  1. The other article from today said that Dodge could play Vizza on Saturday...just that he was not pegged as the starter. It even said that Vizza could play in the game even if it was very close if it gave us our best chance to win (or something to that effect). I'm now firmly in the Vizza camp...but as GMG1999 keeps pointing out, Coach seems to be content with Meager as a starter, and that is more than likely what we're gonna get.
  2. He sounds like "The most interesting man in the world".
  3. The Hog fans we ran into were exactly the same way. When we first got to their tailgating scene, a Hog fan pulled our group of 7 over to their tent. He gave us all beers, Crown and Cokes, and food. They talked football with us, let us know about the open container situation (and hooked us all up with some red cups), and took pictures with us. The second group of Hog fans we ran into had a big renovated school bus that was all Razorbacked out. They had a band playing and four tv's built into the outside of the bus showing games. They were also very welcoming...giving us beer and food, and allowing us to hang out with them for the pre-game/post-game festivites. We even had several Hog fans tell us that they wished that we would win the game so that Nutt would be fired. All in all, very cool atmosphere and passionate fans. As far as road trips go, probably the most hospitable fans I've encountered. ULL is probably a close second.
  4. We can always count on you for a little juvenile humor. Bless you, sir.
  5. This is also my major concern. Our defensive players don't seem to be/get in position to make plays often, and when they do, we are not making sure tackles. There has been almost no resitance defensively so far this year. If teams were still scoring quite a few points, but we were making them "earn it", I would feel more comfortable. Like Tasty has pointed out. Under Bliel, we were just a mediocre (bend but don't break) D-1 defense. However, if teams were just moving the ball between the 20's and we were causing teams to kick more field goals, as opposed to cutting through the defense on 2-5 plays (almost every possession) on their way to a touchdown, the FAU and SMU games would have probably been very different games. The Arkansas and OU outcomes would have still been bad, but maybe not to the point that the scores are so shcoking.
  6. Wow. Those names right there... I hadn't thought about some of those in quite a while. I remember Raymond being touted as the "Next Big Thing" for our defense.
  7. My dad was saying that the younger brother was a much better passer than Casey is. Isn't there quite a push to put (Nathan?) Dick into the lineup by the Hog fans? I thought I read that he was a very highly regarded recruit.
  8. I don't know if these quotes were taken from Coach's radio show, but he said very similar things during that broadcast with George. Reading between the lines, it seems that Dodge is not as confident with Meager as he was earlier in the year. Not that I'm surprised, the late turnovers against SMU and FAU have been back-breakers. Couple these quotes with the new articles talking about Vizza seeing more playing time, and I think we can all see the writing on the wall. In Dodge's case, playing the freshman here shortly may be a good move for him. Fans are much more forgiving of mistakes made by an 18 year old freshman with "developing potential" than they are of a redshirt junior, who should be beyond making the kind of mistakes that we've continued to see.
  9. Could be the fact that most NT fans are also huge fans of Jamario, and were waiting (and praying) for a breakout performance. I know personally that I could not be happier that J-Mo had a great game. He gave us all such sensational performances/memories from the 04' season. I can't help but pull for the guy.
  10. Interesting. I actually hope to see him take some snaps against the Hogs. Some of the things he showed in the OU game were very intriuging.
  11. I'll try to give a re-cap (at least as much as I can remember) Dodge talked about being happy with the offensive output in the first half for the most part. Did say that Meager forced the first interception in the endzone, and this was something that they practiced quite a bit. He said Meager basically had a moment of bad judgement. Talked about being happy with the first offensive possession in the 1st half, but after that we bogged down and "played behind the chains". Talked about how penalties and sacks helped to contribute to 4 very unsuccessful drives. Said we got on track again offensively late. Punt blocks were killers. They are unnacceptable, and they will get the protection for the punt team corrected. Said they were happy with the defense overall. Only 2 missed tackles this week. Need to get more pressure on the QB, but seemed to think it was getting better. Said that we have been moving the ball pretty effectively up and down the field, but that we need to be more consistent on turning good drives into points. Said that in hindsight that he wishes that he had gotten J-Mo more touches and felt that a couple of times, we went deep and got aggressive to try and "make a statement". He said if he could go back, he would probably feature the run a little more because it was effective. Hope this helps some. Anyone feel free to add or correct anything.
  12. I'm also gonna agree with Got5onIt about the tone of the threadstarter and "Little ol NT should be grateful we got TD". Such a ridiculous ascertion. We had several quality candidates besides Dodge that could have been coaching this team that are not D-1 has-beens. Jim Harbaugh, Jay Norvell, and Jimbo Fisher to name a few. Would you consider them mediocre "D1 re-treads?" Let me preface the following coments by saying that I like Dodge, and think he will bring us winning football sooner than later. So far, he(TD) has not provided us with a win. He is going to get some criticism for that. SMU and FAU were obviously (watch the games) winnable games, and we have melted down in the fourth quarter both times, eventually costing us these games. Some of the MG faithful claimed that they would be willing weather the storm early in Dodge's regime, others did not. Please don't generalize. I don't think that most of the criticism on GMG is unjustified. Defense that has performed below expectations, as well as a QB performing inconsistently are the main things that people are questioning. Are these not the things that are significantly contributing to the team losing the SMU and FAU games?
  13. I take your posts deadly serious (enough so that I'd bold a word for you). Care to stir up the stadium talk again?
  14. True enough. Reading that Hog fan board was very similar in tone to this board during DD's last couple of years. Similar situation too, in that Nutt and DD both saw a measure of success at their respective programs, but ultimately we're/are not the person to take that program to the "next level".
  15. I was up there visiting my parents last year, and the sports talk radio guys as well as the callers were all calling for Nutt's head. I have to imagine that those Hog fans are going ballistic this year.
  16. I'm going with about 7 friends. We're staying at my parents house in Bentonville. You can look up the NT tailgate/parking info on the MeanGreen sports website. We're in section 111. Row 3 or 4 I think.
  17. Yes...$35 each. Didn't say about our allotment specifically...but I bought 7 today and they are all together. Don't think you'll have any problem getting tickets to this one.
  18. When I first clicked your link, I was sure I was gonna get "Rick Rolled". You, sir, throw a nice curveball. Well played.
  19. Bought mine today in the ticket office. I'm in section 111.
  20. I take it you've been there when the "C-Team" was working. Those are the best nights!!!
