  1. My reply was based on the question of what defines "a great season".
  2. With this schedule it would need to be 9+ and win a bowl

  4. CUSA - PART 1 OF 2 Look like were up next week https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/33843539/conference-usa-college-football-preview-part-1-burning-questions-favorite-players-projections
  5. Not an issue one with anyone who questioned the hire. MY opinion though is if you are going to blames the man for everything that does not go right, be willing to also credit him for the positives.
  6. Per Footballscoop.com UTEP: Head coach Dana Dimel has netted a 1-year contract extension. He'll now make $800,000 in 2022, $825,000 in 2023, and $850,000 in 2024.
  7. I think his main factor was that he wanted no part of coaching in the SEC 🐥
  8. You have to wonder how long until this hits the high schools. With so many districts having open enrollment and so much recruiting already going on how soon until legal pay-for-play comes to high schools? Then again, maybe this will help curb some of the bogus private schools that are set up to be athletic factories claiming to provide educations.
  9. Seems its more about - Give me mine now! Too many believe they are entitles to play immediately; if not move on to "someone who deserves me". Have to question the intelligence in the thought making process when so many are not getting new scholarships. IMO, if they take the leap, they deserve the bad along with the good.
  10. The NCAA was so quick to put the rule in place they didn't think about the safeguards. Total lack of oversight from the start and no penalties for tampering. Guess they thought there was still ethics in college sports - could not have ben more wrong!
  11. Thank you. MGT has been blasting Passwaters since the beginning. Never gives him credit but blames him for anything that goes wrong.
  12. OU is putting a plan in place to pay each player a minimum of $40K a year
  13. From Footballscoop.com NCAA: 40 percent of scholarship FBS players do not find scholarships on the other side of the transfer portal https://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-transfer-portal-data
  14. Have to credit SMU. Basically giving the NCAA the middle finger and there is nothing they can do.
  15. So you are saying they have a lot more experience than most?
  16. Not sure if I have even seen a less energized/optimistic Mean Green fandom in many years coming out of spring. I hope some surprise transfers show up.
  17. Long read about the past evils at Penn State. Sadly, a lot of college athletes were given protection for years, not only at Penn State, but many schools https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/32496588/before-jerry-sandusky-penn-state-football-had-another-serial-sexual-predator-untold-story-crimes-fight-bring-justice
  18. Great point. I could be wrong, but with some of our coaches how the players acts on and off the field makes a difference. Perhaps some players feel that their play on the field should allow them to act in certain ways and when a coach gets on them they are not happy.
  19. It's hard to know for sure. It's interesting how during the spring when you do not allow your QBs to get hit they can stand in the pocket and throw good balls and make the Defense look bad.
