  1. Doh! nuts...Will we ever see something like that again? At least the yards were lost during 3 downed plays...a few years ago, due to their own penalties, UTEP put itself in a 1st and 40 situation.
  2. A new stadium can ONLY help us improve in certain areas, but I have to play devil's advocate again here: Do you REALLy believe that a new stadium will rid NT of performances like last night? What has to happen for that kind of game to never happen again?
  3. What if SHSt were Sun Belt...
  4. Just got back from the game. Ugly turnovers and MANY false starts on both sides... things started to click for both offenses in the second half and the game was FANTASTIC. I was worried when we had to settle for a FG at the end there in the double OT...we hadn't shown much to slow down UH's screens and runs (they weren't QUITE draws, but I don't know what to call them because whatever blocking they used was killing our DT's). I tip my hat to both teams for putting it all on the field. 45.5K in attendance -gm
  5. Just a thought: Meager had more completions in his first start in this offense than Gunn did tonight for TCU. Make of it what you will. I'll take a W any way Dickey ball gets it.
  6. We're from North Texas...send out a few emails and it can be done! I remember a few years ago (4 is a few, right?) Corporon was explaining a Wind Symphony piece they were about to play. If you were at the concert that night, you might've noticed that there were something like 40+ percussionists prepared to play at the beginning of that piece. His (Corporon's) explanation mentioned that it required one of the largest percussion sections ever demanded of a wind ensemble piece. His words? "Here at the University of North Texas, that's not a problem." It made the audience chuckle. -gm
  7. I believe that the guy driving rush hour next to me this morning pulled that one off. Cerebus, can you descrive the Spencer's Gorrilla to me, as I never saw that game. The other two celebrations are self-explanatory. thanks, -gm
  8. no. I don't like installing any more *ware than I feel I need on my comp, but Real fits is a necessary, harmless video player with no adware/bugging popups. Unless you've got some valid reason outside "I only need Media Player/Winamp and refuse to let them invade my comp", go ahead and get it. Or perhaps a v-guru around here can save you and transfer the format over. -gm
  9. On a scale of 1-10, the attention of the MUTS fans was 2 after the int-td by Holman. Attn of the UNT fans doubled.
  10. True, but I think what's more important is that Dickey is not showing all of his eggs at the beginning of the season.
  11. rinse and repeat, please. I'm bumping this baby to see if anyone else caught that. -gm
  12. I think somebody better let Kragthorpe know about this.
  13. E-ghad! I think you might be onto something. -gm
  14. huh? every sport? *looks over to women's soccer*
  15. It's awesome when we've established such a history in the running game, as which an opponent (win or lose) feels holding our RB to < 150 yards a "dominating" defensive performance. The way I see it, Cobbs still has a 100+ yard game, Thomas nearly hits 6 yards/carry average, and Meager throws 0 picks. I think most teams would be content with that formula. -gm PS: congrats on your first sack of the 5 year series with us.
  16. ...until then beat the crap outta Akron and we'll put it all out on the field for Tulsa. Feel free to take some other OOC games, too.
  17. Nice observation. It's fun to think how good this team can be, not just through this season but through the next two. We are so young right now, that many of these players will be starting together for several seasons. Kinda scary to think what a good coach *cough*DICKEY*cough* can groom this team to be. -gm
  18. What a sad spin...not exactly a point that applies right now. We have him through the 2006 season. Cheer up, -gm
  19. There's a lot of talk of Meager, Cobbs, and Thomas. What about Johnny...I know he didn't have a 'monster' game, but what about his presence on the field? I'd like to hear some witnessess' thoughts/perceptions. Maybe even something about the recievers and secondary in general. thanks, -gm
  20. The pic is of the old unis being sold on the UNT surplus page.
  21. I'm not so sold as I used to be on the "unforced turnover" debate. Your offense ran nothing knew to Marks yesterday, as I'm sure every formation and read that he had to perform was rehearsed at some point last season and this past fall/spring. Whether a UNT player is in his face or not, a bad decision was made because he's thinking he has to make a play before too long, or a UNT player is eventually going to be there to kill the play. On top of that, the UNT player has to actually be in his own position to make the interception/play/what-have-you. If the UNT players are not on the field, does he make the same bad decision as if it's simply playing catch with his recievers? That may be a weak argument, but to some extent, that can be argued to be a forced turnover. correct me if I'm wrong. -gm
  22. I was in the College of Music's Concert Hall lobby when a couple of us noticed it on the tv. It took about 5 minutes, but the whole lobby became standing room only, shoulder-to-shoulder packed; all of us just soaking in how mind-boggling that really was. -gm
