  1. The problem is the 35n access ramp from 30e, at 4 it will be backed up. And that backs up everyone trying to get north of downtown on 35. You wont know you are F'd until you are in the middle of it. Trust me, get up to Sylvania and get out of the crap.
  2. Ohhh, thats tricky. 35 bottlenecks at Keller, usually starts getting bad around 4. But Ol Denton highway can also be a pain because of all of the folks pouring into No FW, and there are a bunch of lights. I think 35 is the call because once you get past Keller its usually smooth sailing. Here is a good trick leaving downtown that will save you some time. Get to the North side of Downtown and take Weatherford/Belknap East to Sylvania. Take Sylvania North all the way to Meacham then cut back West onto the highway. That will get you out of all the 35 - 121 traffic.
  3. Winning state championships does not guarantee National Merit Scholars. Aledo is a football powerhouse, but far from an academic powerhouse. Your (and my) very public, very inner city Fort Worth alma mater is still among the best academic high schools in Texas, but I know many a parent who have uprooted from the near South Side to move to Aledo. There is an elephant in the room, and it isnt academics. And on the recruiting front, word is lately All Saints has been pulling from the Bearcats...trickle down or up, depending on how you look at it. PHS 42 - AHHS 7
  4. It really sucked for those with Iowa State and the money line...
  5. Strategically placed billboards on major freeways, one around Waco, one up North of Denton on 35 near the river, East of Dallas on 20 & 30, West of FW on 20 & 30. Billboards say "Welcome to North Texas...Home of the Mean Green" Define the North Texas area and claim it. ps, University Officials...if I see these billboards pop up I will want a lil some some.
  6. yes I noticed the Dodge era unis and clips of fouts. But hey, its only been 3 years. Dont we have a Green Light to Greatness video we could have used. That is a slick, solid campaign that needs to be our face for the nation.
  7. I dont believe those old helmets were the sparkle green.
  8. I was there. It sucked but it was also the best game I have ever seen. Back then we didnt realize we were small time. It was a great time to be at NT.
  9. I made this suggestion to the Ath Dept a decade ago. I think it would be awesome if we were the first team to embrace Premier League style fan songs/chants. Ags do a good job of it, but they are more like short chants. Spend some time here and you will get the gist. http://fanchants.co.uk/
  10. I liked what the band was doing, they seemed loosened up and had more fun than in the past, more college style than the "Rush" of bands. Made for a great game day experience. For the record, I like Hey Baby, its an old tradition we need to hang on to. And I dont care at all about uni's. In fact the more casual the better for me.
  11. Funny, that was actually one of my complaints about Sonic being the Fam Fun Pack food provider. When you have vegetarians in your family it sucks when your only option is a hotdog bun with onions, peppers and mustard. With Dominos we at least had chz pizza. I for one would love a veg burger option.
  12. It was pretty torn up. Mexico looked terrible all night. They were out of sinc and had no control over the midfield.
  13. I agree as well. The days of ball control without attack, play D and wait to counter are over. Love the agreznif style Klinsmann has them playing. His pasion is awesome, and I prob would have lost my sh*t on the ref as well. Sucks that he will sit out the final, but those were some terrible non calls. Beasleys time in Mexico has paid dividends for him. He has learned that style and is doing well playing the teams from our qualifying group, but I think we need someone stronger for International play.
  14. For those interested. This is a freebee. http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/040913aaa.html
  15. Love the idea. Speaking of which, isnt it about time for the sandies to run?
  16. Pac 12 is one of the toughest V Ball conferences. WSU has been the doormat of the league for years...very tough place to win. The fact that he got them to the tourney is somewhat of a miracle. He has proven he can win. I think its a good fit. Now, does anyone know how we can figure out the game times for this weekends tourney at UTA or next weeks tourney at TCU?

  18. RV seems upset, something about watering the flowers with monkeys tail
  19. And thats why the Big 10 sucks this year. Take a look at the Big 12 for comparison of the 24 all conf 5* - 2 4* - 7 3* - 10 2* - 5 no walkons
  20. The Big 10 move is about mirroring the SEC and getting to 14 teams (7 team divisions) The SEC is very clever in how they set up their league. They all but assured that they will have a team in the title game every year. Take Georgia, first off you dont play anyone in your 4 non conference games. Then you have the 6 division games which typically shakes out to 2 tough games and 4 easy. You have your 1 built in annual crossover game (Auburn) and play 1 rotating home & home game against the other division. This year they got Miss. By this set up Georgia will only play Alabama & LSU every 12 years. Some years Georgia will get stuck with LSU or Alabama, but in those years South Carolina will have a cupcake crossover and it goes on and on and on...They duke it out in the SEC title game for a spot in the National Title Game. As a conference they dont care who gets to the title game, but they are all but assured that every year they will have a team in the $$$.
