  1. Simple. 1-2 game suspension this time, with the warning that if they have another brush with the law, they're gone.
  2. Sure. But being kicked off the team VS a one or 2 game suspension is also Apples & Oranges.
  3. All true... still not acceptable. I hope they're suspended for Idaho (at least). Mac doesn't seem to be OK with criminal activity, just ask Stockovich.
  4. MLB needs a salary cap... REAL BAD. I'm tired of Rangers ticket prices increasing.
  5. If we are not making any other moves, or bringing in more spares like Eli Whiteside, we will finish 4th in the AL West this season. Mark my words.
  6. You're putting some big expectations on Profar. I'm certainly on board with him playing every day. I think he'll be the real deal, but it may take time. He's going to have to put up Cespedes-like numbers this year, and that is a tall order. When you lose Young, you lose your clubhouse leader, and that's more important than losing a .277 hitter (...worst offensive season...?, maybe for him, but "ever in the AL"? Ever heard of Mario Mendoza?) Napoli is yet another big loss, but losing him doesn't hurt nearly as bad as losing Hamilton. Not even close. Part of the reason Beltre was great was because he followed Josh. His numbers may dip now that he will certainly bat 3rd with ?Nellie/TBD? batting behind him. I agree w/Green P1, losing Mike was necessary to get Profar the most PT. Losing Nap puts our offensive production at the C position on life support, and losing Josh is just the extremely heavy straw that obliterates the Camel's back. ...But hey! The Rangers got Juaqin Soria, so the BP is looking better! Time to pay Michael Bourn? I think there's no doubt.
  7. So, how are the Rangers going to replace Hamilton, let alone Napoli & Young as well? All you Ticket P1's out there: let me hear you regurgitate how this is good for the Rangers because they won't have to 'deal with his schtick' anymore...Morons, all of you, if you buy this. Make no mistake, the Rangers will be bunking down at the bottom of the AL West this season with the 'Stros unless they make a huge trade of some kind... and Justin Upton is not the answer. This offseason could not have gone any worse.
  8. Me too! Oh No! If this is what we have for GMG.com now, I would rather have the Mayans be correct in a few days. Take me home Lord Jesus! I can't take life with a non-functional GMG.com. <insert unavailable emoticon here>
  9. I'm assuming he was the first and only person they called. I dont think its because they "can't" land a HC with experience, it's that they didn't want to.
  10. Tom Brady didn't suck. He was recruited to Michigan in their heyday.
  11. If MWC wants to move east and pick up 4 schools (say UTEP, Tulsa, UNT, *gulp*UTSA), I'm on board with this move. Then you still have those nearby schools that would probably be in your division, meaning only 1 or 2 away games in Mountain or Pacific time. When UNT was in the Big West, we were on a deserted island with AR St. Now if we make a move from the existing C-USA to the existing MWC... then I'm not on board.
  12. Lol. I've never seen this article before, but it pretty much confirmed what I think about him. 1 word... rhymes with 'hitter'.
  13. If we're talking about what Vizza could have been, then you gotta wonder what Smith could have been as well. I was sure we would have had a QB controversy in fall practice that year between he and Hall.
  14. Some people care WAY too much about twitter.
  15. ...and one ahead of the starting QB of the team in the NC game: Golston.
  16. Yep. Welcome to the 'hip-hop' world KRAM!
  17. Yeah, I think there would be a 'buzz' about UNT. I think wins against Idaho, Ohio and/or Ball St, and some conference wins would certainly bring the students out. I bet it would even bring some sports-interested alumni back, and you're right, that alone would almost fill up the stadium. And IF (big IF) we're bowl eligible next season, that may even pique more interest. But I'm sure there would still be plenty of apathy out there from a large amount of alumni until we knock off a big program.
  18. IMO, It's because even while I was there as late as 2005 no one cared about UNT athletics. It was not cool to be excited about UNT athletics. I can only imagine that apathy for UNT sports existed prior to my time there. How far back? Who knows? But all of those students who passed through campus during that time graduated with their degree and never enjoyed UNT sporting events... because it wasnt cool. Those students have no fun memories (as a matter of fact, they probably have detrimental memories) of any games they attended. What is interesting is that when Dodge got here is about the time that students started getting excited about UNT sports. I don't know if the two are correlated though. But it just seems cooler to be on board with the Mean Green now than it did in 2005. This season's basketball team was expected to be a historic one. One that could possibly pull some of those apathetic alumni back in becuase, "hey, UNT is actually good at something!"... instead, we're monumentally underachieving. In football, If UNT were to pull some stunners like ULM did against Alabama or Arkansas the past few years... You'd better believe Apogee would be packed for the remainder of the year because, "hey, UNT beat a big-time team that people have heard of! I'd better go see if they're good! (because I want to be associated with a winner)." Fear not Mean Green friends! The 'sleeping giant' moniker is VERY apt for our University... but we're currently in a coma and we will be until we beat Georgia next fall. If we don't do that, then we'll have to keep sleeping until we beat the other body bag game scheduled in 2014. If we don't beat that team, then we'll have to keep sleeping until we beat the other body bag game scheduled for 2015, etc... Or, if we're going to go the basketball route, we'll wake up when we win a game or 2 in the NCAA's.
  19. Oh. That would also make sense. I thought he did a salute, and probably with incorrect form, and the Marine went drill sergeant on him.
