  1. Depends on which teams advance. The coaches of the two teams who advance will meet and decide where to play pretty quickly after their previous win. Usually somewhere midway for both teams. So don't look for a Ryan or Guyer game at Apogee (Ryan's about to get bounced by the CHill this weekend anyway), unless they're maybe playing a Flower Mound school or something. No games at Apogee this weekend, but maybe next weekend...
  2. I know SMU is desperate for wins to open the Brown era, but scheduling a 4a high-school team?!? C'mon Man! Head over to Ft. Worth and stop in for some Joe T.'s while there.
  3. I don't think there's any question he cares... he's just not good at running FB operations. The problem is not with Jerry the owner. He's one of the best. The problem is with Jerry the GM. He's one of the worst. After the game this weekend, he said that Doug Free's performance was "Stellar". What game was he watching?!? Lance has to be thinking, "Wow! this is just like UNT. Pressure is coming every down and my O-Line can't block it." (That has changed this season for the Mean Green, thankfully)
  4. This was probably as good as I have seen/heard the guys this year. Franklin had an awesome game, and I LOVE this stat: Fast break points-IUPUI 4,NT 20. IMO, winning this stat will be a key indicator that Benford's system is actually working. I'll still say there's worry, but if we can beat Virginia (who trounced Lamar) at their house, I'll feel much better about this thing turning around.
  5. Coach Benford said that he really likes what he sees out of Coleman in his interview after the game yesterday... So why is he not playing? UNT90, how do you know it's a grades thing?
  6. We're really taking it to them in the paint and getting all kinds of fouls...
  7. All of your examples use a playoff to get those teams to their championships. The BCS uses computers and rankings...
  8. Not to stick up for this guy, but does "Phi Slamma Jamma" ring a bell?
  9. "Out for the year", meaning this week's game? If so, this is something we were already expecting, and is not really big news. Or, out through spring practice and into the fall?? If so, this would be a big loss.
  10. Really Jeremy? Take the high road bro. You said it. Who cares? Just get back to work. Time to win at WKU.
  11. Wonder if McCarney is employing some 'stealth recruiting' like Dickey? I kinda hope so...
  12. For instance: Berglund, who is known as a running QB, would have possibly been able to fake a handoff up the middle and bootleg sprint to the outside for a TD on the 4th & goal from the 1/2 yard line. It's not all about receivers with guys like Berglund. If his receivers aren't open, Berglund has wheels and can move to either buy more time for his receivers, or pick up positive yards. I'm looking forward to Spring practice. Thompson will need to improve his accuracy if he is going to retain his job, but it will be a dogfight for sure.
  13. ...I was born to walk alone. Louisville should be a nice ACC or Big12 pickup. As long as Pitino has that b-ball team in the top 25, they will be desirable.
  14. ...tiptoes in quietly... I like them. ...leaves quietly...
  15. So WKU Volleyball is like UL-La Softball? They dominate, and everyone else in conference are also-rans?
  16. I'm sorry, don't mis-understand me. I'm not saying I would take a 4* DB over a 4* DT. What I'm saying... and obviously not very clearly, forgive me, I'm sleep-deprived ... is that an upgrade at DT does not automagically cure pass defense woes. It helps, but when you have sub-par DB's you still get passed on. And, on a grander scale, a solid SBC-level DT recruit is probably not going to get us over the top when we jump up to C-USA. Neither will a solid SBC-level DB recruit. When we actually jump to C-USA, we will need to target better players to play against the better players on opposing teams in a stronger conference. Coaching has a whole-heckuva-lot to do with the development of any of these guys too. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as if I'm thinking a 5* DB will cure our pass defense problems, or if I think we're going to get a bunch of 1* and un-rated players because we will probably struggle in C-USA. I don't mean either of those things.
  17. Everyone wants stud DTs. They're the most in-demand position out there. Of course that early 2000's D-Line was awesome. I was a student at the time, so I saw them first hand. But, we also had some all-conference DB's: Buckles, Jones, Knowlton, McGee, Priestly, Covington that gave the D-Line a little longer to get to the QB because they were good in coverage.
  18. Surely you have been watching Mean Green football for the past few years? I agree with you that D-Line is hugely important, but we could have a line full of JaDaveon Clowneys and we would still have a problem with WR's getting behind our secondary on some horribly-busted coverage. Need to recruit the best at all positions.
  19. For sure! But, if we're fighting with (even if we're winning) recruiting battles with SBC schools, then we're recruiting the wrong guys. Once we move into C-USA, we need to at least be competing with other C-USA schools, and with Big12 and SEC schools on some players, for talent. All I'm saying is if we're losing badly in C-USA, it's going to be hard to get good C-USA caliber players... but we should still be able to get better recruits than SBC schools. Take Royce LaFrance for example. Tulane is a bottom dwelling C-USA school and he chose them over us and LA La. Is Royce going to be a top-notch LB for Tulane in the future? Who knows, but when other C-USA schools are bringing in 4*LB's, Royce doesn't look so good.
  20. This is horrible news. ULM were obviously beatable without him. Hope the guys can go get this win, but with this news, my optimism took a hit similar to Hilbert's above.
  21. No doubt some other company (Kraft/Nestle/etc...) will snatch some/all of these up and they'll be back in production in no time.
  22. Those are mean streets. You don't want it with those thugs. They're all about that paper, and will do anything to get it.
  23. Kinda makes it sound like we've signed our 3 guys so far, and that will be all for the time-being?
