  1. That's what I've heard, but we also shouldn't discount the fact that UTEP is 1-6, and a horrible team in the form of Idaho & Southern Miss.
  2. I think we're going to need to rely on a solid UTEP showing if we're going to approach a sellout. Otherwise, if the students come out again like they did last night, and UTEP only brings what Rice brought, we'll be right around 25K.
  3. There's a difference between what we saw last night, and what we saw October 5, in New Orleans. Last night, the better team clearly won. The team that beat UNT on October 5th routinely has people scratching their heads after each game. The defense is good (not great), but luck has to run out sometime, right? And, you would think a superior team (one of the best red zone offenses in the nation) would be able to punch it in with 8 chances inside the 10, wouldn't you? Wouldn't the superior team also recognize the best player in the conference standing ready for a punt and NOT punt it to him so he can't take it to the house?
  4. well... they did get points off of a special teams mistake, but then again, we got more.
  5. I'd love to see Sir Calvin step up in the middle.
  6. Right. This formation is very effective to pass from. But, it's predicated on solid offensive line blocking since the receivers are coming out of the backfield, rather than off of the LOS, so the routes take more time to develop. Good thing we have the hogs up front to use this formation effectively.
  7. so Lee's hit on that last 4th down scramble was the perfect exclamation point to that STAND, but my favorite play was when they tried to option it out (again. I thought they would have learned after the first 2-3 times that it wasn't working for them) to the short side of the field and James Jones slipped around his block, picked up the RB and slammed him to the ground at the 2.
  8. Color me surprised. I didn't even know there were 3343 computers in West Virginia, let alone enough people to know how to launch facebook and like/share a picture. Props Marshall.
  9. UNT - 24 Rice - 23 Going to come down to a late 4th quarter defensive stand, and unlike the Tulane result, this one is at Apogee. We'll be loud and the defense will hold 'em.
  10. And for those who said he wouldn't make the roster, and that he was NBDL or Euro-bound... Eat Up!
  11. Are you insinuating that Carl Pelini killed the 5 hookers while Craig James was smoking out?
  12. This is all understandable and I agree. But this is also SO EASILY swept under the rug and kept secret at so many other places... if the AD wants to keep the coach around. I gotta think someone has pictures of them using or something... OTHERWISE, the only real explanation here is that the AD wanted Pelini gone and this was his easiest way to do it without paying the buyout clause. No-brainer.
  13. Or, he wanted Pelini gone and this was his out.
  14. Not sure if I just missed this before or what, but this is news to me. Thanks for the heads-up Kram! We'll be bringing some canned goods to the game for sure.
  15. He has his own strain? That's crazy! Hey, have you guys ever seen that show Breaking Bad? It's kinda like Pelini creating his own Marijuana strain, except it's about a chemistry teacher who gets cancer but can't pay for it, so he makes his own brand of meth! Pretty good little show.
  16. Hey guys, I just read an interesting article regarding conference re-alignment. What do you guys think UNT should do? Go to the Big12, or go directly to the SEC? Source can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_6Yg21lLfM
  17. What we're going to need though is for Tulane to be reminiscent of Louisiana-Monroe. Otherwise, we're actually going to be more reminiscent of Middle Tennessee.
