  1. Ouch bro! First, read this: The above thread was an original masterpiece. There was a single look-a-like attempted. The rest was purely derailed. As you may remember, UNT won that game handily. I've been trying to keep that luck going. If we turn this thing into a REAL look-a-like thread... Your friend, MeanGreenTexan
  2. Apparently, all it takes to do that is the promise of wearing sweats on the plane home. Mac needs to dangle this little treat more often.
  3. I trust him over the Fox Sports dudes. Early in the 1st, they were talking about Kilgore having a mild separated shoulder heading into the UNT game (not sure which shoulder 90). Then he got hit or otherwise knocked around and made it worse (started talking about different levels of the separation), and now after their bye week, Kilgore feels 100%. Either the Fox guys had no idea what they were talking about, or Kilgore/Stock were backpedaling their failed experiment.
  4. I thought I heard the Fox analysts say he separated his shoulder against us and was pulled for precautionary reasons.
  5. Dear Christopher: Now, about Will Smith's ears. I specifically remember them not being that big in the Summertime music video with DJ Jazzy Jeff. What happened?
  6. The only thing he's simply getting is SACKED and INTERCEPTED.
  7. Have at it fellas (and ladies): Southern Miss Roster http://www.southernmiss.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/smis-m-footbl-mtt.html I'll kick this thing off: Seymour the Golden Eagle Angry Big Bird Hey, by the way guys, I heard that Houston has some nice areas and some ghetto areas. The ghetto areas to stay away from are: West University Place, Belaire, and River Oaks. Is that right? Rick Villareal is asking me because he was going to Katy to 'visit' with their successful H.S. football coach and didn't know where to stay. I was hoping our new moderator could maybe do a flyover of these neighborhoods and give us some detailed high-def pictures, preferably of murderous crimes being committed or of a local high school game where one school is bullying the other on the gridiron. Thanks in advance for your responses, and TODD DODGE RULES!!
  8. Right there with you, and unless something catastrophic happens, I think we're going to be wrong. Very wrong.
  9. 1. No, USM defense can't stop us. 2. No, not going to need to. Run game is going to be clicking all day. 3. Yes, slam dunk.
  10. Questions 2 & 3 were the easiest for me to answer. 2. Yes, Brelan is going to get a ton of chances to return kicks because the defense is going to hold this putrid offense at bay all day long. 3. No, their defense is so awful that we're going to get into the end zone a bunch. No need to kick FG's. We may sputter once.
  11. I was much more concerned with the LA Tech game than I am about this one.
  12. Do yourself a favor and pour 3 glasses of beer and tell me they taste the same. Neither are the trendiest hipster brews out there. All are mass-produced and can be found at any wet/semi-wet Wal-Mart anywhere. Please tell me how they taste the same. 1. Guinness Stout 2. Dogfish Head IPA - any one of them 3. Bud-light/Miller-light/Any piss-water light beer I'm far from a hipster and I refuse to drink certain beers because I just don't like them (Any Stout: I hate chewing on my beers). But a good Amber or Red ale (be it a mass-produced Fat Tire or Killians, or some trendy, tiny craft brew) will hit the spot for me just like a Dr Pepper.
  13. No doubt Kevin is a good guy, but any discussions I've had with him about UNT athletics paints a very different picture... at least, of how he feels about UNT's athletics... He seems to lean towards the 'Why would an intelligent person give to a university's athletics fund? Those donations should go to academics.' line of thought.
  14. I just never got this from him. I mean, he stuck with what he knew, and he coach-speaked and smokescreened the heck out of his time here. But I don't think he had a choice. He can't say, "Well heck, I guess I'm not ready for this.", or "We're not a good football team because of me." He had to stick to his plan, however bad it was, and stay positive... thus the 'better husbands and fathers' (which I've heard coach Mac, and a myriad of other coaches say) and player-X 'grading out at 90%' or whatever. Stubborn, arrogant, alienating is what I got out of coach Dickey sometimes. Not from Dodge. Deer in the headlights is what I got from Dodge. But, maybe you have a specific experience with him that I didn't have or something.
  15. Do you hear that Mean Green Football players & coaches? Just give the guy what he's asking for. He's a nice guy. It's his BIRTHDAY for crying out loud!
  16. Right. I hope he decides to take another crack at college coaching one day. BUT, he needs to start as a QB's or WR's coach and move up. Learn from an experienced HC/OC for several years. I really think he would have been a fine coach if he didn't jump in, head first, into a raging fire. Looking at what he did offensively while at UNT is pretty impressive. One look at the record books will prove that. Seems like a good guy as well. You're certainly right Harry, the way he handled himself during his time here and when he was let go was classy all the way. Going up to Pitt with Graham was another mistake. That guy is a goober. I always wondered why Gary Pinkel didn't pick him up as his QB's coach. Maybe Dodge was just so beaten by the college game that he didn't want to...
  17. good call. Here's another skateboarding analogy: You can tell immediately he's an amateur, but you give him a chance. Seems like a nice enough guy. The company he keeps appear to be jr high/high school aged though, so you question his judgement of peers. He kicks off a little bit with some nice news coverage and some nice recruits. You can tell he's learning on the fly, but maybe this thing will go. You keep watching and hope for the best because you have no other choice. The giant palm gets in the way by closing practices which hides what would probably give us all a heads up of what we could expect during the season... No hitting in practice?? Then, when he goes to ride, he's exposed immediately (79-10) and runs backwards further than where he was when he started. Insult to injury, the immovable object of truth (the old Pontiac GrandAm of life) smashes him in the face. Enjoy:
