  1. And I bet all eyes were on Danica Patrick.....just sayin'
  2. Come on Jim....seriously?? Riley was one of the gutsyest guys I've seen step on the field at UNT in LONG time! He has my utmost respect and I wish him well. You have the right to your own opinions and comments but this is one you should have kept to yourself.
  3. I'm selfishly sad to hear this but hope Riley has made a decision that is best for him and his family. I was really looking forward to watching him get better over the next years. Riley was the gutsest guy I've seen step on the field at UNT in a long time and I wih him the very best! Best of luck to you Riley you have my respect!
  4. Better question, WHERE should Green play White? Fouts.....North Texas Stadium.......Dickey Practice Field?
  5. Why would JJ go backwards?? Seems like LSU past on JJ a while back stating "he hasn't had enough big game experience" ??? Wonder what they think now?? Good job to JJ and the mighty Mean Green team tonight!
  6. Just a thought, wonder if there was any kind of salary adjustment for RV so Coach Dan doesn't make more that the AD???
  7. Both? THEN we could be the best. Nothing wrong with value in an economy that demands effeciency.
  8. I'm not realy sure....ask the UT guys in Austin. They may have an opinion this year. It's pretty hard for them to get a bowl bid this year.
  9. Agreed. I caught up with Riley on last Sunday morning at the Athletic Center and he said no injuiries, just got knocked out He said he was returing and would (wanted) be our QB. No compressed disc, no concusion, no stinger....nothing. Phew...Go Riley! GMG!!
  10. Its amazing that the most pleasing part of today's new is that Coahc Canales is remaining at UNT. Sounds like a poromotion and hopefully a pay raise for him!
  11. Nice find! I read all the posts. They don't have a great opinion or knowledge of UNT or North Texas Athletics. Interesting though. The general population on the site seemed to like Coach McCarney.
  12. Wonder if Coach Canales could use his short time as interim head coach to satisfy the requirements in the job announcement???? Somebody should know Kelly well enough to call him and ask his opinion. He will have one!
  13. This may certainly explain it. I saw the header when they made first downs and I was soooooo confused! But then......quickly.....I quit caring. I am 110% sure that if any of our RTF students had the slightest thing to do with this publication we they could at least not split the difference of where the action was during a punt. Do I follow the punter or the reciever...??..oh, no bother, I'll just keep the camera here in the middle...WHERE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS HAPPENING BUT BLOCKING!!
  14. Agreed, I watched the post game interview and continued to think, "this guy is for real". He seems to be making great football decisions on the field, great with the players (after yesterday I can't bring myself to call them kids anymore), he seems very at home in front of the media and can get more than a few words out that make sense, marketing and promotion savvy, and WANTS THE JOB!! But......where does it out us to know the admin will spend $650/yr plus if the right guy comes along?? Does that change anything??? Who is out there that would be better than Chico?? I'm getting really comfortable with a Canales call! Let's go Chico!
  15. Nice stories Brett! I have to say, although they had me on the edge of my seat (watching the student prodcution of the game was painful) the UNT defense really seemed to firm up late in the fourth quarter to seal the win. The team seems to be a TEAM now!
  16. drex, I completely agree! You have a land grant college that doesn't "want" for anything, they have absolutely everything handed to them on a silver platter and in return the uT fans get this kind of competition and failure in return. Heck, I'm even mad because some of my tax base probably goes to fund one shoe lace on one uT walk-on's shoe. Wow! What we would do with just a tenth of their funding............Go North Texas!!
  17. I am very impressed at how Riley has really stepped up and proved to be a real competitor. The guys dad get's fired, he's got a broken arm, he's up against what has to seem like incredible odds and he fights his heart out. I'm not syaing to vote for him for president or anything, I'm just saying we should be really proud of him and appreciate what he has done for his team and the football program. Where would we be without him. He is really bridging the gap! I like the kid!! Go Mean Green!
  18. Sorry, but this is all just a little too disappointing. I remember how excited I was to welcome Dodge in and I am now equally disappointed that it didn't work out for Coach Dodge and UNT. Best of luck Coach Dodge.!! Brett, jes, Colleege is a differnt gaime. Sombody grab me some spell-check.
  19. Great idea Todd!! I can personally say it was partly my idea and my Talons pledge class project to light the tower back in 1975. So, I personally endorse this (for what that may be worth LOL!) How bout that!! Tying a traditions together! Steve
  20. I just love, and I quote, "all of a sudden North Texas bears watching in the Sunbelt conference race". Sounds pretty friendly from an otherwise fairly critical group....and i'm just sayin'......
  21. Anybody have an idea when tickets for the Army game will be on sale? Sorry if that information is somewhere in the bowels of the many posts, I just couldn't locate it!! See you at West Point!!
