  1. The UNT La Tech game last night was pretty ho-hum for 3 quarters but ended up having a thrilling ending, with UNT coming out on top by a score of 40-37. The Bulldogs trailed for much of the game, but they mounted a furious and respectable comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 straight points to tie the game at 37-37 with just over a minute to play. However, the Mean Green were able to drive down the field and kick a game-winning field goal as time expired by expert footman Noah Rauschenberg. North Texas quarterback Chandler Rogers had a stellar game, throwing for >300 yards and three touchdowns. Mean Green running back Ayo Adeyi also had a big day, rushing for 150 yards and a touchdown. Louisiana Tech was led by quarterback Jack Turner who passed for 145 yards. I thought the game was a great example of college football at its best. Both teams played hard and there were several lead changes throughout the game. In the end, North Texas was able to make the big plays when it mattered most. The officials had their struggles though and there were a few missed calls. In particular a late hit/roughing the QB call on Chandler Rogers sticks out it my minds eye. That one really bothered me for some reason. I was particularly impressed with the comeback effort by Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs were down by 17 points in the fourth quarter, but they never gave up. They were able to score 17 unanswered points to tie the game, but unfortunately they fell short in the end. Their fans came up to us after the game and stated “what could we have done better?” To which I replied dryly “not a thing you all were good hosts. Can you please point me in the direction of the freeway?” Overall, I thought the UNT La Tech game was a great game to watch. It was exciting from start to finish and there were several big plays made by both teams. If there is ever an opening in the American conference I would like to see La. Tech considered. But not before Army.
  2. Enjoying now. Thanks for sharing @BillySee58
  3. Here’s my question, if the PAC survives and picks off the best of the Mountain West would we (AAC) be interested in their leftovers? I hope not! ————— The future of the Mountain West may rest in a legal complaint filed Friday in the eastern Washington town of Colfax at the Whitman County Courthouse, which sits along the South Fork Palouse River, across the street from a car wash and a couple blocks down Main Street from Pearson Farm & Fence. That’s where Washington State and Oregon Statefiled a joint civil action in state superior court against the Pac-12, essentially requesting full control of the conference’s name, brand and assets. “At its core,” the 16-page complaint states, “this is a dispute over who has the authority to act on behalf of the Pac-12 Conference. Only judicial intervention can resolve this dispute.” If the Pac-12’s two remaining members prevail, it’s considered the first step in re-imagining the beleaguered conference with San Diego State and select (but maybe not all) members of the Mountain West. Lose, and the Pac-12 likely dissolves — and Washington State and Oregon State would have few viable alternatives other than joining the existing Mountain West. read more: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2023-09-08/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-conference-realignment-washington-oregon-state-legal-action-pac-12-mountain-west
  4. I thought that as well @GrayEagle. I figure he took our offer to put pressure on the Hogs
  5. Good write up JD. I hope you are right. I just worry about them being on the road for the first time.
  6. I think this site is great. Always active and interesting. Maybe a little too much so after losses though!
  7. @MeanGreen4Life1998 I wish you would stop downvoting me just because I have a different opinion than you.
  8. I mean I was there and it was hot. But it wasn’t unbearably hot and it certainly wasn’t near as humid as you would see in New Orleans or by the coast. There was one older lady in my section that overheated though. It could have been worse.
  9. Totally agree! Huge overreaction. Coach O loves UNT.
  10. Agree we should be ok but it may take some time. In his press conference Morris said something to the effect that neither guy seemed ready for the lights or something like that and that concerned me.
  11. Texas State just beat us in terms of strategy and execution. Morris took responsibility but he better damn sure hold his staff accountable too. Seems like his staff let him down in terms of evaluating this program and where we were.
  12. It was a tough game no doubt but I certainly haven’t given up hope on Coach Eric.
  13. Why all the long faces in here? Yeah we sucked pretty bad but our record is no different than that goofy used car salesman in SA. Morris will get this ship righted quickly you mark my words.
  14. Sounds like Army or possibly Liberty. They may need 3 to stay safe.
  15. I just feel like we didn’t really accomplish anything. We just lost. Hopefully Aresco has information we don’t and i guess we have to trust him for now. But we have to stop pretending this was the outcome we wantedZ. AAC is weakened by losing SMU and the Mountain West is strengthened by the AAC steering clear of the PAC2. https://x.com/mhver3/status/1697716106599825432?s=46&t=NF302_aIOAI3ysJWw9mToQ
  16. Wow that has to be the biggest attendance we have ever had!
