  1. They are basically the same. They have the same QB that they had last year and he can still run the football. They are just more mature now so definitely better. Because of our WRs is why I think we can win. You are right, they had better be over their run defense performance they had against FAU or it will make for a long day. I think they will because FAU was a threat to throw. Army has thrown, but they rarely do it because they are not that good at it.
  2. They will definitely do something. Being retired Army, I will be slightly conflicted. It's hard to root against young men who will soon be leading Soldiers and putting their life on the line for this country, but I am Mean Green all day. So, I won't say I am cheering against them, I will just be cheering for Mean Green more.
  3. Seth is not far from home here. His family is certainly within reasonable driving distance. Sometimes family is more important than money. He is in a recruiting hot bed. He is building a program that could be perennial champions and that would make him a coaching legend. Sometimes it's not always about the money. Why do some college coaches jump to the NFL for less money? Because they want to prove that they can win at the highest level. Not the money. It's sometimes about being remembered. Seth would definitely be remembered if he can take a program that has been long considered a death nail for college football coaches and make them a consistent top 25 team. I am not saying that he is not motivated by money or that he doesn't want to prove he can win at the P5 level. All I am saying is at this point it is all speculation. We do not know what truly motivates him. What we can do is try and build the fan base to keep him. There is no reason why the 4th largest university in the state should not have one of the best fan bases in the state and the country for that matter. We have to find a way to get the alumni and students better involved. The team and coaching staff are doing their part to win. Now we as alumni and students need to do our part. The more we buy tickets the more we have to pay the HC and staff. lets stop waiting on them to string together 5 winning seasons before we begin to support them. We asked them to win now and they are doing that so lets support them now. No coach wants to stick around an apathetic fan base for sure. Plus it's hard to recruit kids to want to play in front of an apathetic fan base.
  4. Army is not great at passing, but none of the Service Academies are. However, they can run the football. We need to put 8 in the box and play them man to man. Defensively, I think they will slow our run game down, but I don't think they can play with our receivers. I think this game is won or lost on the arm of Mason Fine. If our defense can slow their run game down, we can win. If not, they will control the clock and win. Reffett was the one who came up with the defensive plan to stop them last October in West Point. I think he does it again and Mean Green win 31-28.
  5. I was at the volleyball and it was great. It was easy money for UNT.
  6. You missed a great one. It was like a 12 round heavyweight fight. They are without a doubt the top 2 teams in CUSA. My hats off to WKU. They fought hard, but our ladies made the plays that needed to be made to secure the win and a chance to win the championship this Saturday.
  7. That was a great win. Had my heart pounding until the very end.
  8. We win! They just beat the number 25 team in the country. Let's pack this place Saturday when they play MTSU for the conference title then head over to Apogee to watch football beat UTEP. If they get it done then that will be two conference champs in sports this year. Volleyball and Soccer. Then if football can win tomorrow and beat FAU in conference championship game, that would be three.
  9. It absolutely does not account for that. Sick and tired of these pollsters overlooking UNT. We could beat the number one team and somehow we would only move up one spot while the number one team drops one.
  10. I looked at the bracket. Seems like to me they should have drawn Clemson or Alabama, but I do not mind beating up on UT. Go put that cattle out to pasture ladies while the Eagles soar above.
  11. I can agree with that. Like the late Al Davis would say "Just win baby."
  12. I think we need to score fast and often to hopefully jump out to a huge lead to break their will. Once that happens, you pull the starters and rest them. Allow younger guys to get some reps. That will prepare them for the possibility of being thrown in a game due to injury and if they are not seniors, it will give them some experience for next season.
  13. It will be scary how good they could be next year.
  14. This will not be updated until Monday around 10:30 AM. Wait until then to see what our ranking will be.
  15. Anywhere other than the Bahamas. Great vacation spot, but playing American football in a place that has soccer and track & field as the dominant sports is a waste to me. Bahamians most likely care very little about American Football. They just want American tourists to spend money.
  16. I hope J Wilson puts up 300 yards rushing on them like their back put on us last year. GH, feed the beast that is Wilson.
  17. I am going to dream here. Littrell stays at UNT and builds the program into a perennial top 25 team and UNT raises his pay to that equal to what Texas and A&M pays their coaches and UNT gets invited to Big 12 to replace Baylor after McCasland builds the basketball team into champions. Then SL goes down as one of the greatest college football coaches ever for putting UNT on the map and building an uninspired fan base into one of the best in Texas. Okay. probably won't happen, but I can dream.
  18. Volleyball just dominated the lady Techsters. 3-0.
  19. Vball just took down the Lady Techsters 3-0. Amanda Chamberlain was on with the kills this afternoon. All this winning could become habit forming. Wren better stock up on light bulbs and make sure the electric is paid because that tower could be lit for a long time.
  20. Let's hope so. They have been the best sports program at UNT for a long time. They deserve the recognition. Glad they are finally getting a new stadium to play in instead of Liberty Christian's old high school football field.
  21. You are so right. Employers base degree merit really based on how popular the name of the school is. It doesn't make it right, but it is reality. They see you have a degree from Texas and one from UNT, they will most likely pick the Texas guy each time because they think the degree is better because of name recognition. How do schools get recognized? By sports. Then the students can't even show up to try and help boost their own stock. There is no way a school that has over 36,000 students and thousands of Alumni in the DFW Metroplex should not be filling 30,850 seat Apogee Stadium.
  22. Yeah I watched it on ESPN3. Our ladies were cool during the penalty shootout and took home the victory.
