  1. For those watching online or by TV, it probably looks a lot worse. We are definitely the better football team. The officials are bailing UTEP out. We can win this football game. I am here in person and we definitely have the better product and that's my opinion.
  2. The airline just delayed my flight by an hour and that flight is scheduled for tomorrow. That's not good for our weather delay. Not a good sign. People are pouring into the bars because of the delay.
  3. Just walked outside here in ELP and the storm is just sitting overhead. It is not moving. Bummer.
  4. I am here at the game. There is significant lightening. I was about to go into the game when I got the weather delay update. Stayed at the bar I am in and they are good people at least. All want to buy me a drink.
  5. I say it depends on if you only care about Football and MBB. Let's face it, no one is going to get NIL money from the other sports. So if you only care about a winning football program and MBB program, then give to NIL. If you want to see the non revenue sports do well, then give to MGSF because that is the only way those sports will get any scholarship money. Other than MGSF, they have to rely on football and MBB to have the revenue to help support them.
  6. I taught at U of M and the university is in the Orange Mound neighborhood and that is not a good area. The stadium is just outside the Orange Mound neighborhood and it's not in a great area either. If you are driving and want to AirBnB, I would suggest Horn Lake, Southaven, or Olive Branch. They are all in Mississippi. I lived in Horn Lake and drove the 20 miles to the University each day.
  7. I was there. Is it me or did it seem like Grant got the crowd more excited for football than SL did?
  8. I don't think the poster who posted about 940 was referring to helmets. I think he was referring to ticket cost. However, I could be wrong. I am not in favor of the area code helmets either.
  9. $940 would make it hard, but not if we went with $9.40. That's basically what UTEP did. We would be .25 cents higher, but DFW vs El Paso would warrant that extra quarter.
  10. With Clark out at UAB, we could possibly pull that one out.
  11. As much as I dislike SMU, I don't think it's them this time. I really do believe it is aTm. That's why Jimbo was so mad at Saban. Saban called him out with the truth and he didn't like that. Especially since they are all money whipping these kids.
  12. I want to laugh at this comment, but in today's college football landscape it is so true.
  13. I like that. What about a kid who after their first semester or 15 hours, the coaches have decided he is not a good fit and really want to push him out the door to make room for another scholarship player? Are they beholden to that kid until 60 hours?
  14. So true. I was just your average high school football player in the mid 80s and knew I wasn't going to play college football. However, we had a kid on our team that was recruited by Texas A&M. They brought a car up and told him that it wasn't his, but he could drive it anytime he wanted and park it at his dorm like it was his. So yeah they have always paid. Now it's just out in the open. I agree with you on that the problem is the transfer rule. It needs to be overhauled. I don't know what the answer is, but it cannot continue like this. Maybe when the P5 poach your guy, they have to pay back the entirety of the scholarship that they received and give you NIL worth the entirety of a full scholarship so that you can give it to your next recruit that's worth it in addition to you being able to offer said kid a scholly.
  15. Crap! I didn't see this one coming. This hurts.
  16. Brett it must be a slow week because for me, I don't know why this would be of much interest to UNT fans.
  17. She has signed several players from McNeese State. They did beat us last year when she was coaching there, but were they that much better than us for her to bring so many players from that program here?
  18. Yes they knew. It's called White Sands Missile Range. The two bases are kind of joint although they are separate. A lot of the Soldiers from Bliss train at WSMR when it's time to go to the field and a lot of the people at WSMR have to come to Bliss for medical treatment because William Beaumont Army Hospital is there and WSMR has limited support for Troops.
  19. Hell no. I lived in El Paso for two years while stationed at Fort Bliss. Although Fort Bliss has probably tripled in size since the arrival of First Armored Division from Germany. Definitely lots of Soldiers there now. If you are a young single man, they have some nice looking ladies.
