  1. The defense is playing a lot better without Trieb, Jackson and Crosby.
  2. Hope left when Trautwein left. Oh wait. Not that Hope? Surely you jest.
  3. It may very well be a lie. I am just trying to find a good reason why this guy is still around when he makes bad decision after bad decision. I am just frustrated about it all.
  4. You know what? As much as I think WB should fire SL, he is afraid because Lovelace likes him. Many of us would be hard pressed to fire someone if we think we may lose one of our biggest donors. Maybe we need to start blowing up Don Lovelace's and the other big money donors emails and websites about how pathetic this crap is to put pressure on them. At least it may help WB do what needs to be done. I don't know. I am just spitballing because I am just as angry as the rest of you about this bad, bad product. We are wasting talented players on bad coaches.
  5. Not too optimistic because CUSA is the worst conference in football. CUSA probably wouldn't have a team win the FCS championship.
  6. At this point, we are terrible. We are losing recruits as we speak. I saw a team give up today so to me they are lost. Since the ship is going down, we may as well bring in a new one and start all over. Sure there will be growing pains, but at least we can start with a solid foundation if we hire the right guy.
  7. No. It's time to thank him for his services, cut his buyout check, and let him ride off into the Oklahoma sunset, which is where he really wants to be.
  8. I cannot say I would have done that. I would only need 50 cents to call that kind of play.
  9. He won't resign because we are paying him 1.8 mil to do nothing. I would have made the play calls for him on 4th down for $50. That would have been $1,799,950 cheaper.
  10. As I look at this game, I am wondering where SL's offensive prowess is. If I remember correctly, we hired him because of his offensive capabilities. Seeing this crap inside the 5 happen every week makes me wonder if he made crap calls in his past stops and the HC overrode his calls and it made him look like an expert. If that's not the case then he should have overridden those stupid goal line calls so we could get TDs instead of nothing. UNLV's defense is just as bad as ours. They just had better offensive play calling. I attribute that to coaching.
  11. This. I saw Grant at the game talking to a very tall kid who was probably interested in playing basketball for him from what I could hear of the conversation. Grant seemed super excited, gave the kid his full attention, and made the kid excited. In the back of his mind, he could have been thinking that this kid has no shot at playing here, but you wouldn't know that because Grant is a great promoter, recruiter and spokesperson for our program.
  12. The problem with the blue lot was not lack of parking, it was the attendant. I arrived a few minutes after kick off and I saw several people turning and going to a different location after they got to the attendant. I was worried about not being able to park in blue. I get up there and ask her if there is parking and she says no, but you can check. I decided to check and there were several spots available. She just didn't have a clue what she was talking about.
  13. No. I think he has taken us as far as he can. He has slightly raised the profile of our football team, but we need new blood to take us further. With a $2 million a year salary, I think we can lure someone like Tom Herman out of the broadcast booth. We may have to up assistant salaries a little, but it can be done IMO.
  14. Reminds me of a guy I work with. Said his dad came home one day when he was about 20 and asked him "How many boxes do you need?" He asked "What?" His dad then replied "How many boxes do you need? So you can get the f*** out." Wren needs to ask SL the same question.
  15. At the end of the day we can call it disrespectful, but we didn't do anything to shut them up. So....
  16. SL was not getting the talent in here that he needed before NIL after that K-State fiasco. I guarantee you that coaches he is recruiting against are telling recruits that you don't want to go to North Texas because their head coach doesn't want to be there and if he had the chance again he would jump ship. When he tried to go to K-State, that told all future recruits and his own team that he doesn't want to be here. Sure the current players may like him, but that's probably because they get to play college football at the FBS level when many of them are not good enough for this level. The other thing is potential recruits are probably being told he is on the hot seat and that he won't be around long. Both would be true. So, NIL money aside, he was losing recruiting battles for talent before NIL. When we are the only FBS offer for players who are only receiving FCS offers that says a lot.
  17. I know some are not too impressed with our win at UTEP, but I will tell you one thing. It's not easy to go into ELP and win. ELP is at an altitude and you will get gassed faster if your body is not used to it. Our guys did great despite the fact that UTEP practices out there and has an advantage of training at that altitude. It's not like going to Denver, but it does play a role. If you have ever gone from Denton to ELP in one day and then try to run out there in ELP, you will feel the difference. To me, that means we should play a lot better this week.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. Plus, we lost to programs that are not powerhouses by any means.
  19. Regardless of the outcome, I must admit that UTEP put on a good show for the fans. Glad we got the win. Go Mean Green. Now about to go celebrate in ELP.
