  1. While I agree it is a lack of interest, that has somewhat turned around. The Marketing of Events (and promotions) has greatly increased. I do not recall SL''s first season stilling MacBooks, 1k donations to student organizations, etc at football games or stuff like the free parking passes for your career at UNT, apple watches, etc like they did during the CBI. Students that are in denton, need a reason to go to the games. The success of the team will lead to better results. We saw the attendance increase throughout the season for the most part. We just have to hope that it carries over and that the product on the field improves. If we can start rolling teams like FAU did last year, it will make the games more fun drawing more people and students. Hell, if i was UNT you break out all the stuff you can to keep students on campus during game weekends.. Open Cafeterias on campus all weekend or something so kids have 1 less excuse to go home or do tailgates, etc. to get the students to stay in Denton instead of going home and let it grow. Or if they do go home to someplace close, make it so they can come back with their parents and have a good time! Another thing, I have seen guys like on this board offer to students like @AustinFromUNT and others to come join their tailgate for free food, drinks, etc.. Heck Austin was even on the sideline for a game or 2 this past season. Doing more stuff like that for students will keep them engaged and having good memories leading to them coming back.
  2. To change it, they need to start hitting up recent and soon to be graduates. Get them hooked early and keep them around. Talk about how just a small $25 donation is not a huge expense, for them but will do a world of good for the program. Also, show and bring in examples of what is has done for programs like TCU (as they moved up) and other programs like Memphis, UH, etc..
  3. Look at Wilson's Production vs a RB like Lamar Hunt.. The difference in production is night and day.
  4. Alfred Morris was a 1 scheme guy, who like the the Franchise QB the Redskins drafted that year, saw a huge decline in production once Kyle Shannon left.. FYI- Kyle Shannon has done a world of good in places like ATL and SF. Morris played 12 games each year he was at FAU, and rushed over 230+ all 3 years he played (outside of his first year where he played 11 but only had 7 touches). Morris had 2 years of over 250. Morris is now a 2nd/3rd string guy who only got a vast majority of his playing time this year because DMac was cut/injured and Zeke was suspended, remember Morris was a 7th Rd Pick by Washington. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/alfred-morris-1.html Kareem Hunt played in 13 games his SR year, and then 10 games each his Sophmore and Jr. Year and 11 his Freshman Year for a grand total of 42 games compared to Wilsons 42. Hunt outgained Wilson in rushing yards to the amount of 4945 to 3322.. For a difference of 1623 yards (and only played 2 more games). Hunts best season his SR year, he played in all 13 games and accounted for 303 total touches for 1878 yards and 11TD for 6.2 yd per touch. Hunt finished his career with 855 total touches, 5500 total yards, 45 TDs to Wilson's 630 total touches, 3849 total yards and 34 TDs. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/kareem-hunt-1.html Jeffery Wilson's Link is a different site because the Sports Reference only had his Senior year... https://www.footballdb.com/college-football/players/jeffery-wilson-wilso0265 (Wilson's Sports Reference for Proof) https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/jeffrey-wilson-2.html Again, Morris was a system guy for the Redskins and one that has seen his production decline ever year till this past season which he went from 200+ yards in Season 1 with the Cowboys to 500+ in Season 2 (only because McFadden was released and not picked up by anyone and Zeke was suspended.). Morris has had more success than UNT RB at the next level in the past 10 years. Hunt had more tape, played in a better conference (Yes the Mac is better than conference), and is a team that had 3 players in 2017 alone, and a total of 7 since we had our last player drafted in 2004. As the numbers show, Hunt was a MUCH more productive RB in college as well. Just look at the difference in terms of Rushing totals and the numbers of games played. Scouts saw enough of Hunt from his tape that his combine numbers did not affect him.. With Wilson's history, he needed to wow at the pro-day and on tape is the point I was making..
  5. Talking about money brought in.. FAU moves back a money game vs Illinois to now play Minnesota in 2020 and they get paid $1.2M
  6. Just going to say.. Preston left a ton to be desired.. believe he had multiple bonehead plays vs Iowa in the 2nd half and during Troy he even got replaced.. I think a major question is how/who slots into the DB group from this recent class. K.Davis is an LB now (likely on the inside to replace EJ), Gibbs, Williams, Crosby, Morris? Would love to see Gibbs at CB, having a taller, willing to tackle guy on the edge is something we need.. Williams is a great FS/Centerfielder and his size could be his biggest disadvantage. Morris seems to be that Rover spot to challenge T. Davis and Crosby and he anything on the skill positions.
  7. 4.56 plus his build.. which is lighter than 220 is not a great time.. his injury history as well.. Tied for 13th.. so he is middle of the pack, with a multiple leg injuries, and a bad shoulder.. playing at a lighter weight and couldn’t hold up in CUSA vs lighter competition compared to the NFL The point is he was middle of the road.. he likely needed people to go back and rewatch his tape because of the number or injuries. I’m going to guess not many teams ran through Apogee this year.
  8. Let’s hope that 4.56 for Wilson doesn’t hurt his stock
  9. Time to up the donations then and get more people on board!
  10. Ive said it before and will again.. if Wilson somehow does not end up making it to playing on Sundays and Mondays, he needs to be offered a job on the staff.
  11. If KU wanted to invest then they would have to double or triple what they are currently playing their HC.. the last I saw he was 1.6 (the KU HC) compared to SL around 1.1.. yes 500K is a lot but is it worth it going to a place like KU who does not take football serious? Stay at UNT build dominate in a region that has a ton of money and go from there
  12. Hope you come back on Friday and show and join in with the current pit crew
  13. See you Friday... tweet at WB asking if he will still pay for fans first game tickets like he offered during the season.. would love to see even larger crowd tonite
  14. Feel like we should start a gofundme and have a GMG sponsored tailgate/pregame party to feed students for them to go to the game!
  15. You think? The dude interviewed twice to go coach the Indy Colts, he knows the writing is on the wall and is wanting out
  16. Do they only have the lower section open? pushing everyone to the bottom?
  17. No idea how but one thing may be that USF has been the home team for every games so far (according to the CBI bracket). UNT has been on the road for 1... It allows both teams to potentially have the same number of home/away games.
  18. Rico did look thicker. novil put up solid stats. Hope he can have a breakout year. Missed out on Siggers, and RJ Reynolds. They were 2 kids I wanted to watch. Agree on the White, Rico, Guyton Package. I would love to see us get Guyton in motion and run him on drags to help him beat press. I’m still dreaming of them adding Shorter to the White, Rico, Guyton group.
  19. Does CBS 11 have a lot of UNT grads working there? I see we get more love from CBS11 than any other channel.
  20. She should have asked to sign Masons Cast lol, but also great news it was fun!
  21. Agree on not having the programs/roster numbers sucked. Did anyone see Micheal Lawerence? I thought was #7 but never saw a #7. Attendence was a lot better than last years game. It will only keep improving.
  22. I thought EJ was going to be a RS senior next season?
  23. Hope the staff and the coaches make a special effect to reconnect with Riley. Would be a great thing because he has first hand experience of how much the Football program has progressed.
  24. I feel like the numbers comes out is meant to show the fan base how much help is needed. It puts pressure on the fan base in a good way. For people that do care, it should show that even a small 1 time donation every year for $20 bucks helps. It’s not going after people who donate.. it’s presenting people who do donate with information for them. If I get a letter and it shows that .03% of Alumni donate, when I do meet up with friends and we talk about UNT or a friend comes with me to a game, that is when someone who does donate says hey you should look into donating.. Word of month from me to you is far more effective than a random Facebook post or tweet. Also, presenting those numbers to donors should not annoy them. It’s meant for the season ticket holders who aren’t members to see the benefits and see how much of a difference it can make.
