Right now NT has no options. We have developed into the bastard step child of college football and the only thing we have any kind of control over is trying to field "winning" sports programs. Then the door may crack open. I don't think NT will ever get invited to the AAC, because of SMU....it won't happen, MWC a possibility because the TV market we are in. Until the so called conference re-alignment occurs in the future the only thing NT can do is win.

Not a big fan of moving to the MWC but NT needs to be ready to go...CUSA seems to be going on the wrong direction. And your dreaming if you think the AAC would even look at NT. That is as long as SMU is still a member....guaranteed they would fight that till the bitter end! Best thing NT has going right now is its location...DFW.

I don't think you can pick the number of wins right now. Between nearly all new coaches and a lot of incoming juco and transfers no way you can accurately predict next year. Wait for spring practice...that will give some insight....

Agreed...NT doesn't bring anything to the table. Even though NT has the largest student population/ alumni in the DFW area...no big time money like the two schools to the south. This new coaching staff has its work cut out. Hopefully, they want quit before the sun starts to shine....UNT90 is on track where the problem lies.

Well I have to admit, me and my future wife watched NT play UtA there in the late seventies...it was new then but guess its old, like me, now.

If I remember, UTA already has a FB stadium...Jerry want have to be in the picture.

With just a very short time period, to me the coaching staff did a pretty good job. I mean With all the negative talk about NT football why would a HS player want to come here if he's got other offers from anybody. And you know the negatives were a great recruiting tool against NT.

Willie ain't coming here. He has seen the light and will go with the big boy's in the future as long as Ga.Southern continues its present winning ways. Money talks and the BS walks and its speculation on how much NT will pay for a new HC and his supporting staff. Its a typical NT wait and see (and hold your breath).

I'm just floored that a article on NT, regardless of which sport, made the front sports page of the DMN.

Fly the BANNER!!!!!! If someone doesn't think 66-0(I mean 7) by a FCS team isn't embarrassing to all connected with this university then I will never see eye to eye with them. I am sick of lame excuses that constantly filter down from the AD. RV has been unable to seize the moment twice in the last 15 years, the bowl years and HoD bowl. Time for CHANGE....................and the peasants are restless!

I probably give a little over $1200 a year, not counting the 100 mile trip one way to see a game. But, my oldest brother graduated from NT in '68', my middle brother in '71, myself you can see. My oldest daughter in 2001 and oldest son in 2005, not going to count other relatives. I think I can say this for the group that RV needs to step down or relieved of his present duties. I also think most of what I have read was civil. Most went out of there way to say there was no 'Hate" just the business of college athletics.

Hayden Fry left because he knew NT would NEVER be invited into The SWC conference because three of the four private schools were against it!!!!! I have always felt my college experience was enhance because of Hayden Fry and what he accomplished at NT.

The last HC NT had that went on to bigger and better things was Hayden Fry if my memory is correct. Fired from SMU, comes to NT wanting a little pay back. He's main purpose was to get into SWC and kick everyone's butt...SMU mainly I guess. Those were good days to know that you had a shot at beating anybody....ie Tennessee fell victim..Problem was small private schools south of Denton, there were three, that put the "not no but Hell No" on Hayden's Plan for glory in the SWC. So instead of fighting a losing battle he pops smoke heads north and the rest is history. So how does this relate to the problem at hand........1. different AD, one who saw opportunity and acted on it, 2. HC Hayden Fry could recruit in Texas or any where .........goes right back to what everyone has been saying since around 5:00pm Saturday afternoon......NEW AD and NEW HC who knows how to recruit.

We sat and watch the students come over to the alumni side before the game started because of empty seats. Throw in the DISD students it looked good 10 minuted into the game before the exodus. I stayed for bitchin rights or maybe I have no life.....one of the other.

This is so bad...I have watched NT football since my brother played in the early sixties. Attended NT during Hayden Fry's tenure. Been a season ticket holder since DD's run. Here we are back to Zero again. Sick of it. If RV isn't replaced it will be the same scenario in 3-4 yrs. Surely someone will pull there headed out of their 4th point of contact and do a clean sweep.

Portland State....hum....3-0, ranked #17 in FCS....hum James Madison (ranked #8) easy win for SMU. NT could be in for a real hard game.............................
