what i have seen so far is the defense is pretty good up front in the middle , it is the corners that worry me.

i watched it again and two words stuck out to me, "keep moving". I watch the few years was amazed how our guys just stood around. I know it was not the players because it was team wide problem. It was a coaching problem, nice to see we will be moving. I think the only play we had in the past was one guy dribble to the basket and do a layup or dunk. Never did I see a player stop and take a short jumper. We had so many blocked shots against us. I really think we can only get better from here. Even though this year we will be th Akr state university at Denton.

Yes Portland state will always be in the back of our minds, I looked at the stats of their scrimmage and qb put up some good numbers. However, they were sacked numbers times. So hopefully their O-line will be dominated by your defense. Always hard to tell what is gong when you are playing against yourselves. That is the reason I can't get a read on our team.

I was at apogee this am. I am not sure what to make of it. Seems the middle defensive line seems to be strong, I am worried about the runs to the outside. That is where the yards were coming from. Fine looked good and is a lot more comfortable back there then last year. I don't think he scrambled once and he threw some passes away. He has a nice touch on the ball. Not real sure of the offense line. Bad news is #15 on the program, which is Chumley i think, hurt his foot and left on crutches at the end of the practice. Had his shoe off and were putting ice on the bottom of the foot towards the toes. Hope he did not break a bone in his foot. He was in some pain.He is a big guy and we need him on the field. Number 88 had a good practice and made a nice diving catch.

To bad the roads in the area are the same as they were in late 70's. The city of Denton has no future planning and they tend to react to things five to ten years down the road and then that plan is already outdated. They just built two big subdivisions on a road that already has traffic problems and the two roads that will service the subdivisions are just two lane roads. They need to say no to new subdivision until they have the proper roads in place. Traffic in Denton is terrible and the roads are in bad shape. The mayor is a clueless guy and the city planner must be just be drawing a paycheck for showing up. sorry my complaint for the day. However, I live here anyway so i can go UNT games.

Not the coach's decision to make. I guess they feel prestige when a player goes up to a big school. That is why so many talented players sit on the bench at Texas, Alabama etc, etc. Did they come to sit on the bench or play. I think most want to play but only one guy gets to be the qb while 4 therssit on the bench behind him. I wonder if Morris had come to UNT as freshman what kinda of numbers would he have put up?

I am glad he will be on the team. Looks like Kansas had 16 war's on the team. I do like how the kansas stadium is set on the campus. i am thinking the speed thing is incorrect.

Looking at the other teams in CUSA web sites you would think they all are going to win the conference championship. Except two-UTEP and UNT. Yes we are the Cubs of football. The Cubby fans stuck with that team forever and we should be the same way. We need to start having more of positive attitude about your team. The season has not started we are already down on the team. What do the the players and recruits think reading our posts. I am sure some do. We all know we have some problems in our programs. I don't think complaining on the board will change things. I suggest you send your ideas and thoughts to Baker or the coaching staffs. When the seasons starts there is no place i rather be than Apogee Stadium with the other fans, the band, the cheerleaders and the team on the field. These guys knock themselves out to be on the field and mostly likely work harder because they are not 3 or 4 star recruits. Go to the UAB fan board and read the letter from the coaches wife to the team and people that supported program, it is very good. Most likely we will never be a national champion (money) but I do think we can be a team in the top twenty. I think we are headed that direction. Yes i have the green colored glasses on and I would not have it no other way. If you so unhappy with the team than do what UNT90 did and jump on the TCU wagon. When we lose It does bother me but then I remember it just a game and next week is a new chance. BTW it looks like UTEP is not going to use all their practice days before the start of the season. why not play these guys, i bet they would bring more fans to apogee than SMUt does.

i just want the best qb on the field no matter who it is. when you are power running team you can get by with an average qb but with a spread you need qb who can throw the ball well pretty much all game long. I can never tell if or offense is good or if defense bad or vice versa because we are playing ourselves in the scrimmages. I hope the mean is back in the defense.
