  2. Yes when I was doing my preseason ratings of teams I had Rice as the worst secondary. I had the LT DL and OL in the top 5 in CUSA. They still had good talent there, but wasnt sure just how good. I think its safe to assume that LT and USM are the teams to beat in West. Not sure if Tech will turn it back over to Higgins or keep rolling with Smith
  3. Nick Mullens is 9th and Alex McGough is 13th, but those guys are top QBs in CUSA. Salton Sturm is number 2, but I dont think that will last once they play a real team. I still believe Morris can be a top 5 QB in CUSA, in this offense.
  4. Height becomes an issue if the OL doesn't open up viewing/passing lanes for him to see threw. Brees has had a lot of help from his OL in NO. When teams don't let Brees see what the defense looks like he struggles How many times did Fine throw over the middle Saturday? Just asking bc I don't remember.
  5. They are going to play both QBs. Littrell stated this today as his PC. Didnt say how or if there will be a specific rotation, but both guys will play.
  6. Passes thrown against them Chad Davis 2/4 58 yards and TD. His INT came off a pass defended by Hamilton. Nate Brooks 3/5 61 yards and TD I will say Davis gave up the Hail Mary which was a majority of his yards. He did also get toasted by Sutton early in the game that shouldve been a 43 yard TD had M. Davis not air mailed it. Brooks gave up the 52 yard bomb to Proche which was excellent coverage. It was just a better pass. Im not down on either guy. I think they both played really well yesterday. All those times we saw Davis scramble there was good coverage. Moore gave up the 88 yard TD pass. Not sure how a true FR gets matched up with Sutton. Still he let Sutton get inside. Thought our LBs were lost in coverage a couple of times. Especially Eijya. Hamilton for as big as he is did a good job in coverage.
  7. I had predicted SMU would have 15 explosive plays they had 19 I predicted we'd have 17 we had 10. Re-watched the game this morning. The explosive plays are there, we just need execution. Wilson had 6 explosive plays. I view explosive as pass over 15 and run over 10
  8. In case your interested in Alec Morris and his passing chart vs SMU http://meangreennation.com/alec-morris-pass-chart-vs-smu/
  9. Beatable early in the year yes. Late in the year after the lack of depth take its toll maybe not. A physical running team at the end of the year is not a favorable matchup for us, but who knows.
  10. I do hang my hat on stats and historical data. They all point to us having a much better chance then you believe.
  11. In my Bad Analysis break down (on YouTube) of this game I went with NT.
  12. Actually he has two legs, but his right leg is very powerful indeed.
  13. No I dont watch film while sober. That's hard to do watching North Texas. Chad will get more balls thrown his way this year, because Nate will make plays early on. So Chad will have a chance to make more plays this year. Nate is getting the man crush now because he had a great fall. You could see it in the scrimmages and practice. His play stood out. He was the best cover guy in practice and scrimmages. He played like the best CB we have. Yes I often give BAD analysis, its really bad and half assed. You know what I dont really care. People dont pay attention to what I have to say or type so neither should you. McClain - NFL You've made your point and Chad Davis is the best CB on this team. I shouldve know I was wrong when I started thinking. Wait I dont think.
  14. Rice vs. Western Kentucky Want to see the new QB play for each team. Rice is overrated. FIU has a chance to upset IU
  15. I don't think he said replaceable, I think he said he wasn't challenged much. We had freshman corners and Whitfield on the other side of the ball. OC's knew who they wanted to attack. Chad has just been one of those guys whose flown under the radar. He's had some injuries that have set him back. He hasnt made a ton of plays on the field, because he hasn't been attacked a lot. I dont believe, but I could be wrong, he hasnt been singled out by opposing coaches as someone that they have to avoid. He hast drawn attention from NFL scouts. He wasnt listed in the CUSA Spring prospectus as being a candidate for All Conference (Capper's fault). The talent around Davis has risen a lot from last year. He was challenged and hung on to his spot good for him. I hope he stays healthy and has a big year.
  16. I dont think he has to be all conference. He provides size, depth, and strength to a position of need. His job wont be to make a lot of plays/tackles. His job will be to tie up the OL, draw double teams, so that the LBs, NICK, and safeties can make plays.
  17. Thank you I do my best to annoy anyone who listens to me.
  18. It's all about evaluation of talent. The last staff was looking for a woman stripper in a male club. They had no clue on what they were doing. This staff has more of an idea when it comes to modern day QB play.
  19. Depth chart will be released Monday. No there is no possibility that Fine beats out Morris. Morris has been better.
  20. 1. Always 2. Lots of points 3. Lots of passes 4. Hope 5. Not having a QB from Iowa .5 No RV
