  1. Did any one else lose the stream here in the 4th quarter? Ahhh. Memories of the Troy game and others last year.
  2. Anyone? Do you remember how long the spring games went in past years?
  3. Yes, and they describe it as the "STADIUM KICKOFF TAILGATE PARTY", which will be held in the blue lot at Fouts, not at the new stadium site. Also, apparently the tag line for this year is "BELIEVE IT!" They use this phrase once after "NORTH TEXAS FOOTBALL '09" on the front of the card and once on the back with the stadium kickoff tailgate party. It is difficult to tell what the ambiguous "IT" is that we are to believe in. Does anyone know what the duration of the Spring Game is supposed to be? I believe in recent years the game was timed (i.e. clock doesn't stop). I'd like to go to the game, but I have several scheduling conflicts I'm trying to work through. Go Mean Green! I'm ready for some football!
  4. Does anyone know what time the spring game will start on April 4th?
  5. Don't know if you ever noticed the link earlier in the thread, but the story is posted at .
  6. Here is a link to the piece for those that missed it. (Sorry about the flashing trial text.)
  7. I like how Babe referred to the school as "the University of Texas" in the beginning of the segment.
  8. Yeah. Well...except for the star (not starting) QB of the first game in Woody Wilson...oh and the lead WR of the first game in the mighty Johnny Quinn. I guess Jamario was there for both games. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/scores106/1...NCAAF702389.htm
  9. C'mon. What's not feasible about driving an AMC Eagle.
  10. What if we start a tradition with the Residence Halls where the RA's (is that what they are called?) knock on each door on their floor making noise and announcing that it's time for the march to the FREE football game. Maybe the beaten down student in desparate need of a study break will get off his arse and head to the game. I also like the idea of handing out some sort of perceived valuable discount coupons or freebies from within the stadium to students when they come into the stadium. I realize there will be some that then turn around and walk out, but I've got to think that there is some percentage that will decide to stay if they made the walk all the way there. I wonder if we could get Hooters girls to sell the programs within the stadium. Hooters might provide this for free since they'd be getting free advertisement. Provide free tickets to select games to select corporations in the DFW area. At the very least, seems like we'd do this for sponsors. I wonder if there would be interest in chartered busses from key locations around the metroplex. Can you have beer on busses? This idea might need more thought. When the schedule magnets come out, I take a stack of them to my local Sports Clips and the girls slap them up on their stations for all their patrons to see. Does anyone else do this? Would any one else be willing? Have the school join forces with this board and use us for marketing volunteers. It would be a good way for us to get together in a relatively organized fashion to get the word out about the program we are so pasionate about. My last idea for now, one hour prior to the game, change all streets in Denton to be one-way toward the stadium.
  11. Does anyone know if meangreensports.com is planning on another national signing day blog this year? I've enjoyed monitoring this in years past. It's nice to follow as the faxes come in as well as one stop shopping on newcomer stats. National signing day is Wednesday of next week, right?
  12. This includes a clip of the new ad as well as clips of interviews with Troy P. and Mean Joe.
  13. I have my Brandon Kennedy bobble head proudly displayed in my office window overlooking the cubicle area. A few more things that make UNT attractive IMO: 6. Denton's cool eclectic scene. Or if that's not their thing, Dallas is just a half hour down the road. 7. Arguably UNT's most highly touted and anticipated recruit to likely start at quarterback next year coming off a red shirt season. 8. Opportunity to break in a new state of the art football stadium. 9. Third largest university in Texas (ahead of Texas Tech, Baylor, etc.). Therefore, more tail.
  14. Tied up 17 all at the half. Go Sun Belt. Go Troy.
  15. Hopefully this turns out to be a Win-Win. Good luck in your niche, Coach Drake.
  16. Miami game highlights, including the Cobbs kickoff return and his big run on a reverse in the second half. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d...campaign=ec0009
  17. It was televised on ESPN+, but I don't think it was aired in the DFW area. I watched most of it on ESPN 360, however. The replay is probably still out there.
  18. In the post game radio show, Dodge shared that they went in to the game committed to getting playing time for all of the seniors. The team was aware that the plan was for Danny to get the third series in the first half and Matt to get the third series in the second. Of course, Dodge had no idea he'd be in a nail biter game, but I commend him for sticking to his promise to both of these quarterbacks. It was good to see the former leader of the Green Team get a few snaps other than at place holder.
  19. Happy Thanksgiving Mean Green Nation! Should be plenty of leftovers in tow for tailgating Saturday. Mean Green vs. Red Wolves. Should have a Christmas feel to it.
  20. Ummm. Coach Deloach was subject to interview for close to an hour when he stood in for Dodge on the Coach Dodge radio show a few weeks ago. He had great things to say about Dodge and the players, in case you are curious. Wrong name, wrong facts, maybe wrong thing to complain about.
  21. I guess I'm not familiar with Scotty's board, but I am equally tired of the amount negativity. Not because I think people shouldn't speak their mind, but because it's the same stuff over and over with nothing really new. One big dawg pile. It would be nice to see the same piranha mentality with positive posts. I still support the program 100%.
