UNT 90 Grad

I agree. We already battle with them in terms of number of students (tight race for 3rd largest university in the state). It would be great to see them become rivals on the field as well. In terms of drawing out fans, after graduation, I went for several years without going to a UNT game (I'm ashamed to admit). The match up that initially got me back out was when we played Houston at Fouts in the late 90's.

Though I think Jackson and Stradford may lead in yards per catch, I'm feeling that Carey will surpass them in total yards by getting fed the ball so much more often. Just a feeling.

Especially after the RV podcast, is anyone else concerned that we are overmarketing the new stadium with this year's ticket ads? Seems like the focus should be on this year's product. I get the Fouts Finale focus, but for now I'd like to see the ticket sales ads separated from drumming up support for the new stadium. Fire at will.

I believe last year's games on 21 were produced by KXTA21 rather than the Sun Belt Network. Hence the local media talent calling the games and all the fancy North Texas graphics. In previous years, the games through the Sun Belt Network were produced by ESPN+ and broadcast locally on channel 21 (when UNT was involved). Going back to the Sun Belt Network, I'm curious who the new color guy will be now that Doug Graber is the Defensive Coordinator at Ball State.

Some big (IMO) unknowns not defined in the choices are: - What kind of season will Kansas State have this year? That would play a role in how much media coverage a UNT win would get. A win over Kansas State would be a big deal if KSU'd had a great season. If they had a crap season, no one on the outside really cares so much. - A win in the Clemson game might not earn us many immediate brownie points because I think John Q. Public would assume that Clemson was just greatly overrated going into the year...since they wouldn't have anything else to compare it to yet. Also, how does Ball State's preseason expectations last year (following a great season the year before) match up to Clemon expectations for this year? Did the Ball State win do a lot for us in recruiting? I dunno. - Who does UNT play in the bowl game and do they win? If UNT were to have a big win over a team with a storied season, that could be significant. The one thing pretty well guaranteed with the scenarios is that if UNT made it to a bowl game, that's national TV exposure with little or no competition on TV for the football fan. That is what swayed my vote to the bowl game. My $.02.

The flying V section is the only green section I'll be able to afford. With the squids getting older, I'm on the verge of downgrading my two Mean Green Club section seats to the family four pack deal. Still plan to stay in the Mean Green Club though. Wish I had more to give. GMG
