  1. @Harry, do you mean pedestrian access on the North Texas Blvd bridge or the pedestrian-only bridge further down near the Alumni Pavillion? TXDOT and 35Express are saying that the new temporary North Texas Blvd bridge will have no pedestrian access for the time being, including game days. There's just not enough room.
  2. April 29. http://www.dentonrc.com/local-news/local-news-headlines/20160430-demolition-work.ece?ssimg=2746528 The center section of the bridge is complete and has a road surface on it now, but the outside section are still in progress. This feeder road closure on Friday night is probably to let them lay some pavement to connect NTX Blvd to the bridge surface.
  3. It wasn't gonna be able to handle all the point-after balls they're gonna send into it this season.
  4. Yes. Yes it is. Would you hold the Conference-USA track championships at Fouts right now? Or NCAA regionals? Or even a UIL regional meet? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllll naaaaaaaaaaaaa. Something I think Vito missed and that the AD doesn't want to mention is that right now Fouts is not a track-only stadium, it is a track practice facility. We haven't hosted a track meet in Denton since April 2014. There are no lights on that side of the stadium so they can't hold a meet. Our squad has had two full seasons now without a home event. And I'm sure the wasp and hornet infestation in the pressbox has not improved.
  5. I hope potential inclement weather means rain and not a firestorm that engulfs all of Denton County when it spontaneously combusts from the heat.
  6. Man... The speech patterns of those bozos offer such a window into the kind of people who post on there: the kind of morons who got into SMU and can barely speak english, so then they try to use obtuse and overly complicated wording because they think it makes them look smarter.
  7. Does this count as a facilities upgrade? New stage in the corner near the bathrooms for the coach's show at Rudy's.
  8. Yowza. I believe the policy by the time I was a frosh was all freshman had to live on campus unless their parents lived within something like 15 miles of campus. And you had to have enough credit hours to qualify as a sophomore (30 hours) to be allowed to live off campus. I think the credit hours may have been dropped from 60 to 30 when student population got big enough without building any new dorms that they needed to get some people out and off of campus. Kerr was built in 1969 and College Inn opened in 1970, but then no new dorms were built until Santa Fe opened in 1997. 27 years. Since 1997 they've opened Santa Fe, Mozart, Traditions, Victory, Legends, Honors and Rawlins, doubling the number of residence halls.
  9. It was the policy when I was a freshman in 2003. So at least that long.
  10. Very disappointed in y'all that the top comment on that editorial is not CJK5H. Rules about not being able to buy a recruit a new Trans-Am during their senior year in HS.
  11. On a related note.... Scrappy is now about 6-5. And can half-way decently dance again. Baker is already showing results and he doesn't even start until August 22.
  12. This. RV was a member of the president's cabinet, alongside all the VPs such as Deborah Leliaert, Finlely Graves, Elizabeth With etc. If you go look at the cabinet web site it lists Hank as Acting Director of Athletics. He was the head of a division which is a VP level position.
  13. Harrell, Nate Brown, Filani, are all about the same age as me and @golfingomez. Which is FREAKY. (what the hell have I done with my life....)
  14. Time to make a "The Fake Wren Baker" GMG account...
  15. Smatresk sounds exactly the same on the phone as he does in person.
  16. Makes sense yo use them at the practice field, I mean they're not broken or anything. But still they need to go... Straight into my living room. Hey Hank, I'll give ya $50!
  17. I've heard this from a lot of people. My wife and I went there to celebrate me getting a new job back in 2009 and it capital S Sucked. Blandest, most unappealing Tex-Mex I've ever had. I had to go there for something for work just a few months ago and the food looked like the worst elementary school lunch lady version of Tex-Mex you could imagine. And everything smelled plasticy, not like food .I'm sure it was amazing if you're from Toldeo. So many other better choices in Denton, especially in the past few years. Mazatlan on 380 next to the bowling alley, El Matador on 380 next to Kroger, Villa Grande at Rayzor Ranch, Chuy's at Unicorn Lake, La Sabrocita on Dallas Dr next to Autozone, La Milpa on 35 near Teasley Ln.
  18. How about we aim higher and ask the new AD to get us some hats that don't totally suck. Do y'all understand how much $$$ I would throw if somebody would order some New Era 59fiftys? I've wanted a full-wool fitted New Era UNT hat for 13 years. Nike hats are either too floppy or too high on the head. The '47 Brand hats fit too close to the top of the head. Zephyr are too stiff. We had some Cooperstown Collection branded hats around 10 years ago that were decent but then that stopped. I've only found one decent hat I've liked since the 05 rebranding: an Under Armour mesh workout hat with a flex band. But its black with green lettering. I want a green 59fifty with a white SOW on the front, NORTH TEXAS in the back, and the Battle Flag on the side.
  19. So since everything in sports has become a "What have you done for me lately" situation, lets go over some numbers: UNT conference championships: Men's basketball: 2010 Women's Soccer: 2011 2012, 2014 Men's Cross Country: 2014 Men's Golf: 2013, 2014, 2015 Women's Track: 2012, 2013 Women's Tennis: 2010, 2012, 2013 We had one bowl game, which we won.
  20. Classes for Fall 2016 begin August 29
  21. This was last week And this was when I found out there wouldn't be cookies in the pressbox at halftime.
