  1. Yes indeed. I would suspect the Omni would end up with some rotation of the two teams on display like they did last year (as would Reunion Tower), but it would be pretty cool for someone with UNT to attempt to coordinate with all the buildings with color-changing LED systems (Hunt, One Arts, etc.) to get them all to go Green. Hopefully that would include BoA not changing theirs from the standard green.
  2. My vision at MSG also includes some green fireworks from the top of the UNT building as well as talking to the current owners of the old Statler Hilton across the street about changing their lighting of the building from blue to green as well.
  3. It seems that doing something in Main Street Garden park (weather of course being a factor) right in front of the downtown UNT building would be a great location for something.
  4. Credit where credit is due this year: higher completion percentage, fewer interceptions, and higher QB rating compared to last year. While all marginal increases--still better than last year. DT has done an admirable job this year, and he did seem to minimize some mistakes that he has made in the past.
  5. Yeah, and I think that was after a North Texas timeout as well, was it not? If so, it basically became a wasted timeout that was used on defense by no fault of UNT other than accepting the penalty. Can you decline a pre-snap penalty anyway?
  6. Yeah, I bought two extras for the game, but only one of them will be used. I will make sure that I leave and come back so it gets counted either way.
  7. That's why you just have to buy a general admission ticket for the second half.
  8. I got my supply of hand and feet warmers for myself and those coming to the game with me. It will be a lot colder in the wind if the stadium is half empty than it would be with the stadium full of people around you blocking the wind, right? So, it is in everyone's best interest to bring extra people with you to have them sit to your north side.
  9. Very cool. I don't know him personally, but did talk to him a couple times when I was one of the weather net members for KAMR when I was in high school. He does seem very nice and incredibly brilliant.
  10. I like keeping up with Steve McCauley on his Facebook page. Here is the latest from him: "OK...this will be the storm system to watch over the next several days. Two disturbances off the coast of Japan will be merging over the next couple of days and then take a winding path across the Pacific and may just rapidly intensify as it moves into the SW United States by next weekend. At the same time this storm is moving into Texas, another large batch of cold Canadian air will be poised just to the north. If the timing works out we will have this cold air diving into Texas as the Low passes over the state. Now, this is NOT arctic air, so I am not all that convinced that we can make 'you know what,' so right now the potential - not the guarantee - but the potential of a significant cold rain may be coming next weekend (Friday-Saturday). The stat method gives it a 50-50 probability, so we will be watching this storm merger over the next week and post updates along the way. Until then, enjoy the Indian Summer this weekend with temperatures well into the 70s on Saturday and into the 80s on Sunday!"
  11. But a keg stand is so difficult on a 12 oz aluminum can.
  12. Oh what a difference winning makes. I just got a text from a friend of mine who isn't really a football fan but has been to a few games with me over the years. The text said this: "I would just like to wear my North Texas hoodie and NOT have to talk about football." I responded by asking if it was just random people, and the response was that it was three random people from three different places all in one day. That just made my darned day.
  13. ^ Well, that is going to prevent me from using it until that is fixed. In a related note, I looked this morning, and link for the bowl game ticket stuff is the only thing that shows up when following the links for football tickets. I was unable to get to the link for individual tickets for UTSA. I already bought what I wanted, but I was hoping to keep an eye on the seating map this week and next. Is there still a link to the single game tickets for UTSA that I am missing?
  14. I am so grateful to my parents for making the decision to move out if San Antonio when I was only 3 years old. That way I was not there until I was old enough to have too many memories of that place.
  15. Nope. I just think that many people have to be happy to get out of that crap hole of a city for a weekend to come to beautiful Denton.
  16. ^ Yeah, I agree with that. I think UTSA will more than double what UTEP had there--probably triple.
  17. ^ I assume there is some maximum occupancy amount that cannot be exceeded, but I also assume that number is higher than the actual seating capacity by a fair number to allow for some SRO.
  18. Okay, I think it would be kind of funny if you ended up being the first person ever turned away because of a sellout at Apogee.
  19. Yeah, it doesn't take into account the big gaping hole we have in the middle sections. I always look to the available seats in the lower end zone sections as a general guide as to how the overall sales look. It looks a little bit better in where we are in available seats there for UTEP than we were with Rice two days out from that game. Based on that, already over 100 on Living Social deal, and walk-ups on homecoming, I expect a number higher than Rice for UTEP by at least a few thousand.
