  1. Nabbing Harrell as OC reminds me of Major Applewhite serving as OC at UH. However, I believe Applewhite had slightly more experience. Count me in for Harrell. I think he is in line for what we need.
  2. Good to hear. I remember when UH hired Tom Herman, he was immediately blazing on the recruiting trail. That impressed me.
  3. 1) Follow the footprint of UH. If in 3-5 seasons we are closer to UH and not Rice, UTEP, UTSA, and Texas State then I think that would be huge. UH is the cream of the crop of non-P5 schools in the state. I want UNT to be in that debate. (may help if UH goes P5 soon, different story there though). 2) Separate ourselves from Rice, UTEP, UTSA, and Texas State in terms of success. Don't want to lose to them anymore. 3) Make adjustments; don't be stubborn with game plans. 4) Consistently have winning seasons. No more below five win seasons. 5) Be competitive no matter what. We saw glimpses in our bowl run a few years back. Let's make that a every year thing. 6) I didn't forget about SMU. Demolish them every year.
  4. To be fair, RV has gone on record saying that he gets his sweater vests from Brooks Brothers. So we can't fault him on the quality of his sweater vests.
  5. I have read that that HPD was telling CSC to allow the students to come on to the field and that Dr. Khator was also encouraging students on to the field. CSC was totally out of line and is appropriately feeling the ramifications, and hopefully a lawsuit will soon commence.
  6. Agreed. I want all traces of the 2015 season to be erased. Including the AD of such season.
  7. Color me excited. I thought it was going to be Meachum this whole time. After doing research and reading this board, I think Littrell is the guy. Go Mean Green!
  8. A good QB in CUSA alone in can get you some Ws. I hope there is a JUCO or transfer immediately eligible who comes in because no QB on our roster qualifies as good QB in my opinion.
  9. Or like every successful current HC with that sort of pedigree.
  10. I think he would be a quality hire and a move in the right direction.
  11. Problem with Levine is he under performed at UH. However, he still had some winning seasons and bowl success. I think we would take the success he had at UH in a heartbeat. My fear is that he was able to put up those seasons because of UH's talent which would not translate to UNT. Also he lost to UTSA at UH's brand new stadium opener - that is like a Portland State level loss for UH in my opinion. I do think Levine is generally a well prepared and smart coach. Really do have mixed feelings about him at UNT (glad he is gone at UH though).
  12. I think you present a strong argument and I think it's something to look in to. Problem is, there is no way in hell RV will entertain this prospect. His job is on the line and will try and keep up with the Jonses by hiring a spread offense guru. I'm not saying that is the route we should go, but I believe that is the route we will go. Like others have said - I don't care if we run spread, west coast, no offense, or triple option - I just want to win some damn games.
  13. Would that be similar to Navy's offense?
  14. Is Fritz more of an offensive of defensive minded coach? If offense, what style does his team use?
  15. I was at the game tonight. Best sporting event I have ever attended (besides HOD Bowl).
  16. I have not posted often lately, but was this a bit or a real phenomena?
  17. I have not watched a lot of football this season. How does he compare two DW?
  18. Terrible news. Definitely puts things in to perspective. Hopefully Demarcus is in good spirits right now.
  19. UH is the second team I follow. I will give a resounding NO.
