I have never been to "The Little Apple" but have heard it is a nice town. I am sure he will fit in well there. I also hope that he wins MVP in that conference they play in.

UTSA closing in on 10M for Athletic Center
MCMLXXX replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
The $10 million is from the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department and it is a shared facility. It is also contingent on UTSA leveraging that amount to obtain an additional $19.5 million. I guess that is the best they can do. -
Saturday September 21, 2002 Amon Carter Stadium The "Throw the Ball Dickey" chant was so loud it could be heard on both teams radio broadcasts. I will never forget that evening. I don't recall anyone making a hat to commemorate that event.

UNT Athletics Strategic Plan Update- 2023
MCMLXXX replied to DentonLurker's topic in Mean Green Football
Given that we are almost one-third into 2023 I would assume (again my assumption) that we may already have or be near the objective for this year. If so, then it should make it easier to attain the future objectives (success breeds success). -
I would say J.T. Smith but I am not sure he played in MVC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._T._Smith_(American_football)

Breaking: Angelo State OT Jake Long Commits to North Texas
MCMLXXX replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
He chose UNT over Houston, Texas State, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana-Monroe, UNLV and Ohio. Long, who is 6-foot-4 and 330 pounds, played guard for Angelo State and projects as an interior lineman for UNT. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining and will arrive at UNT over the summer. The referendum asked if students support an “expansion to the Department of Athletics,” which would increase the Intercollegiate Athletics fee up to $250, which is $18.50 per credit hour, a semester, to partially fund a football team and expand women’s sports programs. The fee is currently $8.50 per credit hour, with a maximum of $115. https://www.theshorthorn.com/news/students-alumni-react-as-football-referendum-passes-in-student-government-election/article_1a300f78-d361-11ed-bee5-d3b0c3a1d668.html

Javon Jackson Guard - Southern Nazarene
MCMLXXX replied to GMG_Dallas's topic in UNT Basketball Recruiting
There is always someone who gets contacted, or claims they were, who talks. You are correct as to focus. We should all just let things play out. Perhaps I should have put a question mark at the end of the sentence. -

They hired a new coach from a non football school. Vindicated! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/35913901/wichita-state-set-hire-oral-roberts-paul-mills-coach- 33 replies

Andrew said it, I believe it. That settles it. -
They are trying to demonstrate that not only are we Denton's team but Dallas's team as well. We don't have to wear it on our Jerseys for it to be true.

Memphis has not been the same since Johnny Jones was not hired after his one year as their Coach and he subsequently brought his game to good ole North Texas. When we play them Mac needs to break out the old win one for The Gipper speech and substitute "Win one for Johnny". Perhaps even make a few handmade signs for the occasion.

The MWC had 4 bids with the lowest being an 11 seed and came away with one win. New Mexico lost their NIT game. Last year they were 0-4 in the NCAA and 0-1 in the NIT. San Diego's win ended an 0-11 streak for the MWC. CUSA deserved at least one more bid in my opinion.

I think at this stage of his career I would take Scott over Bell. He has continued to improve as the year has progressed.

Wrong. For example, last years CUSA Tournament MVP was recruited by DeLong. https://meangreensports.com/sports/softball/roster/molly-rainey/5851 What player/players are you referring to?

Mac mention for Wichita State opening
MCMLXXX replied to cousin oliver's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I don't think Mac is going anywhere. He is a big football fan and he especially isn't going to a school that doesn't have a football team.- 33 replies
