  1. They seem to have figured out this transfer/grad transfer thingy.....maybe Seth should have a chat with his very good buddy Sonny and figure it out as well. Five and 0 looking pretty good for the team "down south".
  2. Another "swing and a miss" on a transfer player for the Mean Green. Oh, well, at least SMU has figured it out! Wish the kid well, and will wait for the "rest of the story" to emerge. Didn't seem to get much playing time for whatever reason. Sort of wondering what's up.
  3. Agree...but the road record for UNT over the last few years has not been too stellar.
  4. Renewed both my men's season tickets and my women's season tickets yesterday. Easy...done. Now, let's see if my regular seats are available to me. Fingers crossed. Hey, folks, don't forget about the women's team. Coach Mitchell's squad looks to be much improved and if she can avoids the "injury bug" that has derailed her teams the last couple of years, the ladies could make some noise in CUSA this season. Ticket prices are VERY doable for the ladies as well.
  5. Any team that does not have a winning record should say "no" to any bowl invite. Win or stay home. Don't care if bowls cannot fill their slots. There are way way too many bowls anyway. Win your way to a bowl or don't embarrass yourself or your fan base any more than you already have by posting a losing record by going to a bowl game you do not deserve. PERIOD!
  6. Can't disagree...can only hope the Mean Green gets it done on the road this week. Can they? Certainly. Will they? Who knows at this point.
  7. Out of the mouth of babes.......
  8. If Bassey isn't one of the most overrated players in college basketball..........well, he is....
  9. I can barley make out the one we have and you say they will be smaller! YIKES! Going backwards....
  10. Operative words here are "every program". COVID is not an excuse for where we find this program right now. To imply that it is is just foolishness.
  11. Why not a bootleg pass to the tight end instead of running it up the gut time and time and time again on short yardage and getting stopped for no gain time and time and time agai8n????? Could it hurt?
  12. Ha! Ha! I believe you were given the opportunity to do just that.
  13. We don't have the horses
  14. So tired of the "COVID" excuses. EVERY team is playing under the same conditions. Every team has injury and COVID issues, yet some teams seem to find a way to deal with it and play. COVID IS NOT the reason.
  15. Unfortunately...can't blitz because we don't have the players that can cover the open holes for the blitzing players. We don't blitz because we have to "protect" our d-backs. While the d-backs did look a tad better on some plays against So Miss (SOME plays) they spend way way too much time trying to "catch up": to receivers. And, this is after playing 5-6 yards off the receivers at the line of scrimmage.
  16. I don't think he was watching the same defense I was watching Saturday evening at Apogee.
  17. College football players showing disdain for fans during 2020 is disrespectful. There ya go...seems to me to be a two-way street. Same can be said for professional athletes as well. We all just need to find some "common ground" and as the Beatles once said..."Come Together".
  18. And, yet, SMU finds a way.......
  19. Well, sure...but SMU actually won because they were a far superior team on the field that evening. No reason we should not be recruiting P5 talent as well. Well, I guess there are reasons, but I can always hope.
  20. Just heard from a UNT Dean yesterday that UNT has not had even one case of COVID due to "community spread" to date. There have been 40 confirmed cases (5 faculty/staff and 35 student), but not one of the cases originated "on campus". The cases were brought onto the campus from off campus. That is really amazing considering what has been going on at other university campuses such as Texas Tech. Fingers crossed the precautions UNT has in place continue to work well and that the campus can "open up" more for the spring semester.
  21. Not to throw cold water on everyone's excitement, but UNT hasn't "landed" anyone here. Until this kid actually signs he is still on the market, and we have all seen how these "commitments" go these days. I absolutely love the fact that, at this time, he has "committed" to UNT, but my excitement over him will begin the day he signs that UNT scholarship offer sheet. Kid has some pretty decent offers, including ours, out there and has some playing yet to do before college.
