  1. Somewhere is the lower end of the "C" range is definitely attainable.
  2. I imagine the folks at the SMU ticket office would be thrilled to see a sellout, regardless of how much green is in the stands.
  3. Nice! Now, hopefully it flies like a Mitch Maher bullet, and not like a . . . never mind, I won't go there.
  4. One thing you've gotta say about ol' Dumps--agree or disagree, you know where he stands. Er, squats.
  5. I think just about all of us would rather beat OU than SMU--but that was not the scenario presented. If we were to follow up an OU win with an SMU loss and then 10 consecutive wins, I would be pleased as punch. But an SMU win as part of a great season sounds better to me than an OU win followed by a mediocre season.
  6. Add to what I said earlier the fact that TD's upcoming recruiting classes (i.e., 2008-2010) should blow the doors off of the 2007 recruiting class. Won't provide too much incentive to keep the 2007 class around for a 5th year.
  7. I don't see a whole lot of the new recruits being redshirted, especially at the "skill" positions. Dodge is recruiting players suited to his system, and I imagine he would want to get them out on the field as soon as he can.
  8. Was anybody else recruiting him?
  9. Good read. I had always wondered how Tech and Baylor were able to make it aboard the Big XII.
  10. Even if I thought SMU would win, I don't know if I could vote for them based on sheer principle.
  11. Looks like I'm another in what looks to be a long line of suckers.
  12. = Those professing Islam, following Quran.
  13. What is ignorant is to think that the Islamist views are worthy of defense. "Slay the infidels wherever ye find them" (Surah 9:5). While there are some professing Islam who reject their book (just as most who profess Christianity reject the Book), there are a whole bunch of folks out there who want to see you dead because you live in a country that does not impose Sharia law upon its people.
  14. It's an old coaches' ploy--talk up the other team during the time leading up to the game, and then sock it to 'em on gameday!
  15. Very interesting quote. Now college coaches are apparently not just recruiting Texas because it is the richest hotbed of football talent, but because of its superior students?
  16. It's been years since I've been able to go to a home game, but from '93-'99, I don't think I missed more than 2 home games. That, plus away games and 1 NO Bowl, I imagine somewhere around 45 games.
  17. It certainly is not out of the realm of possibility for UNT to win the Belt, but Troy has got to be the hands-down favorite.
  18. Umm, Illinois has dropped all Indian references. They have kept the name "Illini" because there was never really any such tribe. Florida State and N. Dakota have been successful because they have the backing of their respective namesakes.
  19. It is ridiculous. What about the Irish contingent? The agricultural contingent? Are they going to get up in arms because schools use them for a mascot? Seriously, the Irish would have a far greater case against Notre Dame than Indians against the University of Illinois, et al.
  20. Not sure, but I'm assuming that grammar is tongue-in-cheek (?)
  21. Great story, and one I hope gets retold again 10,000 times of SLC fans coming out to support UNT this fall!
