    Not only was he an 11 game starter last year, but he was also versatile starting at two different positions.

    In 1953, the rules went back to one platoon. One substitute per down with two allowed on a punting situation. The rules were changed to again allow two platoon football beginning in 1964. John David Crow was a running back on offense and linebacker on defense for A&M.

    Of course, we would like to get the good athletes from Denton. We need to remember, however, we are the University of North Texas not the University of Denton. SOC, McKinney, etc. all fall into North Texas.

    With all the rule changes on eligibility and transfer portal, I am not sure how much attention we can pay to last year’s record. Tulane is a perfect example.

    I didn’t realize it is allowed to have the QB under center on short yardage.

    Since we were 124 out of 131 on total defense, I am much more interested in the remaining defensive staff to be named.

    Does anyone know if we had a full complement of 85 scholarship players this year? According to my count, we had 9 seniors plus 4 in the portal for a total of 13 scholarships available from this group. We have signed 2: the Denton WR and the JUCO lineman. I am wondering how many places the new HC will have to give.

    You want gloom and doom? You need to check in on the Razorbacks before NSD. According to one of their former players, their collective has been having some trouble getting donors for their NIL. Additionally, they have lost a number tO the TP along with prospects decommiting.

    If we are ever going to compete in the NIL world, we need all the rich donors we can get.

    What was Kirby Smart before he became a head coach, or was he just hatched out as one.

    I guess there was something wrong with me. When I was looking for a school, I didn’t even check out their football record!

    I remember Dr. Bonney, Distinguished Professor of Psychology, telling us people don’t expect to necessarily get their way as long as they feel their position was heard and considered. You want players to put their futures and health on the line for the University and then not even be given an audience.

    The rankings do show that outsiders do not consider our program as a dumpster fire.

    Is a team looked at differently when leaving a conference? Look at the disparity of penalties in the Texas Okie State game.

    As an administrator, I found early in my career to never make a decision based on the new guy might be worse.

    The latest USA Today ranking of 131 D1 schools has ranked 76.

    If we win out, we will have gone 4-2 against future conference mates. It should include a better bowl game. I would consider a year extension with a negotiated reduced buyout, A LA Scott Frost.

    I would have thought the Texas victory over Oklahoma would have gotten Sark off the hot seat at least temporarily.

    Jumbo seems to be doing his best to stay ahead of SL.

    If we win out (not likely, I think), we wind up 9-3 and 2-2 against future conference mates. It would be hard to let SL go. On the other hand, a loss to UTSA (especially if it is a low out) would mean at best 1-3 against future conference mates. A result making retaining him unlikely.
